Not a great experience when having my wedding dress appointment. This was my second bridal appointment and especially after such a professional appointment at a different boutique, this one just made me feel awful. I'm a size 8 with a large bust and the woman assigned to me kept trying to squeeze me into smaller sample dresses, instead of getting a larger dress and clipping me in like other bridal stores do. She kept telling me to straighten my back and suck in, making me so uncomfortable every time I walked out cause they were so tight and I just wanted to take each dress off immediately. My mom even said she could see the veins popping out my chest, they were so tight. The assistant would then make comments about them not zipping all the way, making it so awkward.
Unlike my other bridal appointment, I also didn't get much help actually stepping into the dress. At my other appointment, the assistant would put the dress on the ground and push away the layers, making it really easy to step into and get each dress on. This one, I would just be handed a dress while the other poofy dress was still on the floor and left to figure it out.
The assistant at the beginning of the appointment walked in on me while I was still changing into a strapless bra which was fun. Did not wait for me to let her in. She told me she was new which is why this isn't completely negative. She also had knocked my complimentary water on the ground and proceeded to not completely clean it up. I tried to avoid it when I was in the dresses, but they kept dragging in the puddle of water after she knocked the water over.
I had also listed four dresses I wanted to try on when I made the appointment a couple weeks ago. My assistant had this list but hadn't pulled the dresses already. She left me to try and find them all. I had to tell her I couldn't remember some that I listed specifically, so she showed me the list of dress names she had written down. I think she was just trying to get me to pull a couple more that I might be interested in and see their selection up close. It was just weird, especially when I was asking "Was this one I listed?" and she would say no.
At the very end, she tried to get me to buy the one dress I liked, bringing out the computer to show it to me on the website. Was telling me I should order it now since it's on back order, so I could get the next batch. Back tracked when I told her I'd think about it, being like "Yeah, I guess your wedding isn't for another year." Made me not want to get any of the Anthropologie dresses.
Cherry on top was she emailed me after the appointment and spelled my name wrong. I would not recommend.
Overall, this is a much more casual experience than if you go to a standalone bridal boutique. The dresses that I tried on were pretty worn out, probably due to being out on the floor for people to pick up and try on. Lace was ripped in places, ruching was pinned in place that had come undone, buttons were missing, edges of the dresses were fraying, etc. While this is ultimately a small bridal section of a larger store in a mall, I would still have expected a better customer experience. read more
