Excellent food, service and ambiance. Definitely a place to keep at the top of our list of restaurants!

I was charged $5 extra because I ordered angel hair pasta with my chicken parm and was not told that type of pasta would be an up charge. Also, their menu does not provide any information that angel hair would be an up charge. Connor was very hostile and not a pleasure to talk to when we had questions about this up charge. We will not be going back to support a business who does not appreciate their patrons! Very disappointing service! read more

I enjoyed our visit to Anthony's. There were some missteps and issues, but all in all it was a good meal. First, they get busy, so I highly recommend a reservation (they do have a bar but that seemed to fill up quickly). Inside, it's well laid out, plenty of space and tables. It looks great. The service was very good the entire time. We didn't wait on anything and our server always seemed to know when we did need something. They serve a good semolina bread with sesame seeds, the olive oil they bring out has seasoning in it. That's typically not my thing, let the olive oil speak (if it's good) but it worked. For apps, we ordered the fried green tomatoes with lump crab, the stuffed long hots, eggplant parmagiana, and the grande meatball. Meatballs are my favorite; these didn't disappoint. They are large, not tough, and well seasoned. The salad they came with made no sense, but it is what it is. The long hots were stuffed with sausage and had a kick, but that's the fun part about long hots. They were very good. The fried green tomatoes and eggplant were mediocre. Both dishes lacked flavor. For the entree, I ordered the veal chop, and while I'm not sure if there are many other served in SIC (they claim "the best in the city"), this was great. It's old school, but it was cooked perfectly and seasoned even better. I crushed it. There was a side of mixed vegetables and potatoes, which were not good. Undercooked, likely made ahead of time, held and scooped out when needed. A few strange things: they have multiple tomato sauces, and they served two different versions of the sauce on the same pasta at our table. One was chunkier and good, the other was runny and flavorless. Second, they upcharge for any changes...if you want a different pasta noodle with a dish, it was $8 more. While I would understand if they were serving high-end fresh pasta, they're not; it's simply a money grab. But even with those issues, it was good. I'll go back next time I'm there and stick to the veal chop...because that was really good. read more

This was our third time at Anthony's, but it was a really disappointing experience. We had a reservation for a larger party and arrived on time. We were told it would be "a few minutes". 30 minutes later we still were not seated. Every time we or others asked about the wait (and there were a lot of others with reservations also waiting) we were told "all 3 bars are open". I think they overbook reservations so you buy some extra drinks at their bar. There was no apology or acknowledgement of the delay and no appearance at any point from a manager. Once we were finally seated the food was pretty good (despite being out of several options) and our server Jimmy was attentive. But I can't forgive the delay, lies about how long it would be, and the lack of an attempt to apologize or make it right. The fact that everyone else seemed to be having the same experience seals the fact that we won't return. read more

The food was good, once we got it. Took a LONG time, and we never got our potato to go with our entree. They had the nerve to rushed us after making us wait for our entrees. To add insult to injury, they were clearing our dishes even though one person in our party was still eating. When dishes were cleared, the waitress asked if we wanted pasta since no potatoes were on site. We all LOL'd since all our plates and silver were removed! yea, nope! read more

Five out of six were happy with their meals. The one unhappy one her fillet was forgotten, and her sub substitute meal was cold. Three of us ordered Veal Parmesan and we got chicken. I must say the chicken was good. The waitress was friendly not sure who was responsible for the bobble. We also know that having a restaurant open only on the weekend isn't the smoothest. Not so great. We waited 20 minutes to be seated for our 630pm reservation. Bland sauce. It would be nice to have some olive oil in the dishes. My eggplant was ok but tasteless. The bread brought to the table was fine but it would have been nice to have been served warm. Service was adequate. Our server was good but the bus staff was a bit lost as our mains were brought and appetizer dishes were still scattered about the table. We did get a nice bottle of Chianti. The espresso at the end was good. Ambiance is unchanged from prior owners. A decent place for a meal at the shore but not fine dining by any means. A bit disappointing for us as we dined at the other location last year and it was noticeably better. We will check out other places when in Sea Isle again. Nancy & Mark. read more

Beautiful trendy restaurant, a bit pricey. Tables are very tight when seating 4 people. Dessert offerings were wonderful. Entree selection interesting and mostly very good, however, all the dishes we ordered were swamped in a bland white sauce that was over the top too much and masked the true taste of our entrees (which were all different) but the sauce was the same. I had veal Oscar which had lots of veal and lump crab but the sauce was way too much, very bland, and glassy looking from the thickening agent. Chef needs help with elevating and diverifying his white sauce if it will be served on so many dishes. All that said, I would most likely go back again because I really liked the look and feel of Anthony's. read more

Website said it was open on Monday. So we ubered down there and it was closed. Why? Don't know. Social media sites and phone message said were closed Tuesday, not Monday. For a supposed elite establishment they need to do a better job of updating their phone message and website. Poor job. Do better next time. read more

Astonishing. We live local and this was our first time at Anthony's this year. We ate at the bar twice last year and it was good. Tonight we had a reservation for 2 at 6:30 pm. We checked in at 6:15 pm and the young lady at the desk seemed to be in a daze. After i questioned her that she had my reservation, she said yes, and she had us "checked in". We were lucky to get a seat at the bar. The bartenders are excellent. We ordered and ate. Our appetizer, long hots, was good. We both had specials. Me the crab pasta special and him the seafood special. Both lacked flavor and the crab pasta was drowing in sauce so it was more like a soup. Our check came to more than $200. We tipped the bartender well. She was great. When we walked out, I again checked in with the hostess to let her know 1)we ate and 2) she never sat us at a table. She seemed to be either stoned or just really dumb or just so poorly trained. She looked confused and when I challenged her that she never sat us she said "we feed 500 people here a night, if you wanted to be seated, you should have come back and told me." So here's our perspective. We don't expect greatness. Its hard for restaurants at the NJ shore. But for heavens sake, make the food have flavor and teach your hostesses to have a personality and have a clue as to what their jobs are!!! Yikes, there's a lot of Italian restaurants in Sea Isle, this one, even thought its around the corner from our house, will be last on our list for a while. We decided to go to Anthony's in SIC on Father's Day, at the last minute. We were fortunate enough to get a table at the bar. I can't taste food, as well as being a pescatarian, so I'm particular about my food, and needing textures. I ordered jumbo lump crab cakes. Expecting chunks of crab... unfortunately it was 99% shredded crabmeat. My husband's meal had lump crab on it, so he gave it to me because he felt bad for me. Great food and drinks. I love having a good restaurant towards the end of sea isle. Server and hosts were nice as well! However, definitely overpriced for some of the drinks and food. I went with one other person and between our food and drinks we racked up a pretty big bill which just isn't my cup of tea, but to each their own! Price aside, good place to go. Made a last minute reservation for seven and they accommodated us. Thank you. We were seated outside, I do not recommend it, it was too noisy so please ask to be seated inside. Serve was slow!! Blame it on covid I guess. When the food came our sides were delivered late. I had the New York strip it was cooked perfectly and I liked the gravy on top. Kids both loved the chicken parmigiana. My father in law had the gnocchi with meatballs. Served with only 2 meatballs More gnocchi than meatballs. A suggestion would be to add one more meatball and reduce the gnocchi. Too expensive for what you get. All in all the food was ok. A bit in the high end. For the seven out bill was 300.00 without having any alcohol. They do not sell alcohol there. No seasoning on anything, seated us in the banquet room when we had 8pm reservations, sat us at a table that was not set until we sat down, ran out of water glasses and gave us plastic cups but there were at least 10 dozen glasses behind us that were left from an event earlier that day. Yet another Italian restaurant in Sea Isle City. Average at best. We went about a week ago and while the bar is really nice (and the highlight) we found the menu was very limited. Maybe that will change as the summer progresses and possibly even match the menu of their PA location. Personally we found the orange tomato sauce to be a real turnoff especially since it was pretty much tasteless. I found the pasta to be over cooked. A lot of folks love this place but we were underwhelmed. If you are looking for Italian there are at least three other places in Sea Isle that are better choices albeit they don't have bars. read more

The crab stuffed shrimp were massive and delicious. High quality crab meat was great. The branzino was expertly cooked, crispy outside, flaky inside with a nice risotto to compliment it. The fried Jersey tomatoes were amazing. The eggplant parm app was tasty, but refrigerator cold in the middle. Service was quick and our waitress, Gina was accommodating and nice. The food here was absolutely delicious! We had the Shrimp Lejon and Fried Tomato (special) appetizers and the Chicken Stephen and the Veal Saltimbocca entrees. Wow! My husband said it was probably the best Saltimbocca he's ever had. Our appetizers and entrees were so enjoyable that we ordered dessert. The lemon cake was perfect! Had a recent dinner at Anthony's. Drinks were fine, salads were fine, dinner was uneven and went down from there. My Veal Oscar was served hot and was delicious. My wife's Veal Parmigiana was lukewarm at best as was the side pasta. We pointed that out to the server who apologized and said they'd bring a new dinner. It came out again and had been reheated causing the parmigiana cheese to harden and brown. Manager came over and said to bear with them as they had lost staff due to being end of summer season. Had Dinner at Anthonys Sea Isle City NJ. Gnocchi with meatballs, the food came out and it was cold . Our waitress graciously took my food back . In a little bit she returned with the meal, It was lukewarm. I-tried to eat it , however lukewarm gnocchi is not appealing. I told the waitress and she said , she would get the Manager . The waitress checked back, but the manager never showed. Waitress eventually came back and offered a free desert , or take the meal off the bill. Everyone at my table thought how unacceptable it was for the Manager not to come and address the situation I went to the hostess stand, and asked for the Manager. , who eventually came out . I explained and no uncertain terms, how unhappy I was that he placed the burden on his weight staff and as a manager did not address the situation.. all he kept saying was but we took it off the bill, we took it off the bill! I reiterated how unacceptable I thought it was. that he left it up to the waitress to handle. He told me he was busy. I thought that was even worse. I'm a Customer, I don't care how busy the manager is. When there is a situation when the meal is cold not once but twice the manager should be, coming to the table and handling the situation. Needless to say, I left the restaurant hungry. Taking it off the bill did not satisfy me. He should have tried to rectify the situation and also take it off the bill. My friends and I went to Anthony's for dinner and had an amazing experience. Our server was really friendly and welcoming. I ordered two items off the seasonal menu which the Maryland Crab soup and the blackened Mahi Mahi with arugula and pineapple salsa. I literally ate every bite of the Mahi Mahi it was cooked perfectly and the arugula and pineapple salsa was so refreshing. The restaurant is BYOB so my friends and I walked down the street and got a few bottles of wine to split. The server provided us with wine glasses. We finished off dinner with espresso which was the perfect palate cleanse and energy boost before we went out for the night! read more

Anthony's is among the best restaurants on the New Jersey shore. The quality of the food is first rate, especially the crab cakes, which rival the best I have had anywhere from Maryland to Maine. The service is very attentive and highly professional, something not usually found at seasonal summer resort dinning spots. The indoor dinning rooms are bright and comfortable and the noise level is subdued and conducive to conversation. I highly recommend Anthony's if you are anywhere in the area. read more
