I had a special event here and I was joyously surprised. I'm so use to the diminishing returns of the Seattle area Anthony's (and Ray's) over the last few years that they do not even remain an option. I was guided to this location by a client and it turned out great. Very nice rooms for presentations and everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. I've come here on more than one occasion and each time was a good dining experience. They have really thick and rich clam chowder here that tastes fresh! The Anthony's cobb salad is really tasty too - it has bacon, bleu cheese, fresh fruit like mango, avocado, greens, and shrimp with a vinaigrette dressing..soo yummy. I do not recommend the seafood fettuccine though. Anthony's is more on the pricey side though, but it's well-worth it! You can really taste how fresh everything is. Good flavors! Yesterday was my birthday, so my husband and I decided to use an Anthony's gift card, which our son bought for us. We had a 6:00 reservation, thank goodness, since many people were waiting for tables. We had the Crab and Artichoke Dip before dinner, which was scrumptious. I had the Mahi-Mahi, grilled to perfection. My husband had the Shrimp Tempura, also excellent. For dessert, we shared a generous slice of cheese cake. Service was excellent. I had the best lobster linguine here! They had a lot of things that I was interested in trying, but I couldn't resist the lobster linguine. I devoured every last bit of it! Very enjoyable meal. We were seated at a great table near the window and enjoyed people watching and the eventual sunset. The server did accidentally bring us the wrong bottle of wine, but quickly noticed before opening it and returned with the correct one. If I could change one thing here, I'd request the bread be delivered to the table warm. read more

This is one of the nicest restaurants in Olympia, and enjoys that reputation with good reason. The gorgeous location overlooking the marina and Capitol dome in the background is especially breathtaking at sunset. Our service on three different occasions was excellent. The food was wonderful! I had the sampler of raw oysters on the half shell, and each of the four varieties were fresh and well-shucked. The crab, shrimp, and artichoke dip was delightfully rich and full of seafood, and the crab cakes were ALL fresh Dungeness. The coconut shrimp were perfection and avoided coconut overload, and the sirloin was as tender as a filet mignon and cooked to perfection. Why only four stars? For the amount you'll pay for dinner (expect at least $100 for two with drinks), everything should be perfection. Two out of three visits in the past several months we've experienced snafus with dinner s-- once, steaks that had to be re-done twice after coming out fully cooked through when ordered "rare" and "med-rare;" and once we were told 15 minutes after ordering that our entree choice was not available and we needed to choose again). Things were made right both times, and once our bill was adjusted for the inconvenience. We will certainly keep coming for special occasions, and I hope they work all the kinks out. read more

Olympia's take on a Pacific Northwest institution, this Anthony's homeport is in a beautiful location right on the Budd Inlet Marina, sharing a parking lot with the Olympia Farmer's Market. I was recently here for a business lunch and had one of the best salmons salads I've had in a while. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and it was prepared with a light green salad with grapefruit (is this a new food trend, its the second time I've had grapefruit in a salad in a month) and a citrus dressing. Really yummy! My friends had the fish and chips (standard, nothing special) and kal bi (unexpected for a place like Anthony's). Overall a great dining experience. Consistent service. Consistent food quality. Consistent Cleanliness. Yes. Yes. Yes. I like this place. No, I love this place. Especially when they have the huckleberry buckle! They also have a great happy hour.. They know how to prepare seafood properly, and also do a great job preparing their vegetables. In my experience, I have never received overcooked, undercooked, or overseasoned food here - it is always consistent, which I appreciate very much. In addition, as a previous foodserver, I can tell that our entrees have not spent time under the heat lamps - it has always been expedited to us in a timely manner and at the proper temperatures (entrees are hot & salads are crisp). Anthony's is perfect if you are looking to go for a relaxing, delicious dining experience WITHOUT having to gamble on food quality or service; you get the best of both of them here. Great seafood, great service, and reasonable prices. I made reservations for a party of ten on the day of, and they were able to cheerfully accommodate. At the last minute more people joined our party and the hostess promptly added chairs without any fuss. I had the Northwest Cioppino and it was amazing! For over 10 years I've eaten at this haunt. It was a place we went to regularly until about 4 months ago. It started getting strange. And I will say at this point, No more. December 29 we were celebrating a birthday. We called the day before and asked if there was a quiet time. I told her I was attempting to make it right for a Veteran with PTSD. She stated again, we can only take reservation's at 4:30 for dinner and said, "I can't help you with that." So we took a chance. We walked through the kitchen, down to the end of the line of tables, hoping against hope it would be out of the traffic pattern away from the noise. Not only did she ignore the request, she then marched in two multi-table family's, one of them had 3 kids under 2. Screaming the entire time. The food came. An order of oyster's was so far gone they were the size of string beans, not pan fried oyster's. The broccoli/carrots lost their color and fell to the paste category, not steamed vegetable medley. The rice was luke warm, a few currant and a few almonds thrown in, not pilaf. The appearance of the plate was as though it was moving when the items were put on. The bread was gummy and wet for sitting too long wrapped in a wet napkin. We told the waitress about our overall dissatisfaction, she walked away mid sentence. She told the manager, who came to the table 5 minutes later, asking could they bring another oyster plate for me. He promised to comp my meal. (in reality it was a % off the entire bill.) My compatriots took to consuming their meals amidst the loud and raucous crowd, children screaming as children do, no one came to our table. The bottle of wine we purchased was the only good thing at the table and that was finished by the time the replacement meal arrived. The Veteran wanted Salmon. They didn't have any. The friend ordered crab, it was only in noodles. We ordered desert, then the screaming and noise got so bad we couldn't hear one another. We canceled that and took our leave. Over $100 for T R A S H. What W H A T happened to this place? They just didn't care. They didn't care about their food, their dinning room, their placement of people in the dinning room. The don't care about your palette, they don't care about who you are, nor do they cater to your needs. They want their money but you are not right as a customer or consumer. The last time I visited Anthony's (about a year ago) we were served an oyster with a live millipede squirming in the shell, but today we decided to give it another chance. I have always heard good things and figured it was a fluke or something. I had fish and chips with ginger slaw. The fish tasted fresh and the breading was good and not too heavy, but the coleslaw was basically just a pile of pickled ginger. I am usually a huge fan of coleslaw and ginger, but I was not able to take more than two small bites. My boyfriend got steak and prawns, and though it was cooked well, it was one of the most bland and mediocre pieces of meat either of us have had. If the price was cut in half I could maybe justify it, but for a 32 dollar meal it was very disappointing. It could easily be compared to one you'd find at Applebee's. Our server was very nice, but seemed a little distracted. We ordered clam chowder that never came, and by time he remembered we were already finished and ready to go. I have no complaints about the calamari or cocktails, and I appreciated that the manager was receptive to feedback/didn't charge the meal, but for the price and general experience I would not recommend this place. read more

I left a negative review a couple of weeks ago and the manager wanted to make it right by giving my wife and I a certificate for free dinners. We went there last night and had a wonderful dinner. I had fish and chips and my wife had the baked lincod with sour cream sauce, they both were delicious. We topped it off with Huckleberry slump. It was to die for. What made the experience so much better was our waiter Andrew, he was informative, effecient, friendly and always there when we needed something. He was so efficient that he made it seem effortless. Very pretty location looking toward the downtown Olympia Marina. It's very nicely appointed inside. Food was excellent. Even better than the food was the service by all staff. Waitress was super nice, helpful, and attentive. A steak I ordered was undercooked, but not only did they fix it, the manager came over, comped my meal and chipped in a dessert! The icing on the cake was I left my cell at the table, went back in, and before I got 5 steps, the water server was already running it to me! This is absolutely the best service I've ever received, anywhere! Oh, did I mention the food was superb. I've been to a few different Anthonys restaurants and this location is very cool. The staff was friendly, but the food wasnt amazing. We found what we both ordered to be pretty bland. For being a "nicer" restaurant they werent willing to substitute things (even when willing to pay the difference in price), their reasoning was "we don't have a button on the register to ring it up". The meal was good for the price but fell short on flavor. For some reason the restaurant looked and smelled very smoky so I'm not sure if there was a ventilation issue when we dined as the kitchen is open to the dining area. Part of our order was the kids order of wild salmon and it was very dry and bitter due to the excess grill marks. I switched dishes so that my kiddo would eat. I went there on a Wednesday night and ordered the lobster dinner special. I thought is was a fantastic deal because it was $19.95. The lobster tail was so small I could only get 3 bites out of it. The asparagus was steamed nicely, but this was what I had substituted for the rice. I should have known that you get what you pay for. I was still very hungry after I finished my dinner. The waiter was friendly though, but the person going around filling water could have paid attention a little better. I ran out twice and had to flag him down. Come on, Anthony's. Does it take that much more bartender time to make a martini than any other drink? I think this is just a case of nickel and diming the customers. My wife is from Olympia and this place was where you would bring a date. Today we had brunch. The two salads on the menu (chicken almond and a bacon chop thing) did not seem in theme with the Seafood reputation of this place...so I asked the waiter to make a salad; he did; Caesar and fried Oysters..he gets a thumbs up for service on this. My wife ordered the breaded Trout huge portion and fresh greens and adequate flavor; but fried and fish is easy to do eh? We sat outside..odd thing really the boats are nice but single Port of Olympia container crane less than 150 yards away makes you feel like you are on the set of Empires Strikes Back for the snow walker scene...and a path way a few feet away from the tables is a bit intrusive. The wine list bad..nothing red from California and the lady I asked for suggestions was blowing some hot air about "underlying berries flavors" and the like; better off if she would have said we don't carry anything really outside of Washington..I get it.
