Had an underwhelming Valentine's Day dinner at Anthony's. Nothing horribly wrong with the meal, just nothing to justify the expense of the evening. The food was OK, but I can think of at least a half dozen other restaurants in Olympia with better experience. The restaurant was cold, you could see just about everyone with a window seat had an extra layer on. The kitchen was loud, we could not see it from our table, but could definitely hear it. For the price of your drinks, I better be able to tell that there is liquor in it. The steak and shrimp was so-so. The ling cod was tasty but a bit soggy. The star of the meal was the ginger slaw read more

This is one of the nicest restaurants in Olympia, and enjoys that reputation with good reason. The gorgeous location overlooking the marina and Capitol dome in the background is especially breathtaking at sunset. Our service on three different occasions was excellent. The food was wonderful! I had the sampler of raw oysters on the half shell, and each of the four varieties were fresh and well-shucked. The crab, shrimp, and artichoke dip was delightfully rich and full of seafood, and the crab cakes were ALL fresh Dungeness. The coconut shrimp were perfection and avoided coconut overload, and the sirloin was as tender as a filet mignon and cooked to perfection. Why only four stars? For the amount you'll pay for dinner (expect at least $100 for two with drinks), everything should be perfection. Two out of three visits in the past several months we've experienced snafus with dinner s-- once, steaks that had to be re-done twice after coming out fully cooked through when ordered "rare" and "med-rare;" and once we were told 15 minutes after ordering that our entree choice was not available and we needed to choose again). Things were made right both times, and once our bill was adjusted for the inconvenience. We will certainly keep coming for special occasions, and I hope they work all the kinks out. read more

Reliable service and excellent seafood. Worth the extra price to know things will be done right. Try the relaxing outside seating if weather allows. read more

This place has an awesome happy hour from 4-7pm. a) It's awesome because it goes later than most happy hours, and b) the food and drink specials are pretty good. Beer is $3.50, I think, and wine is $5. They have delicious specialty drinks or $5, too. Also, select food specials are $5 or $7 and super filling. The best part of Anthony's, though, read more

I had a special event here and I was joyously surprised. I'm so use to the diminishing returns of the Seattle area Anthony's (and Ray's) over the last few years that they do not even remain an option. I was guided to this location by a client and it turned out great. Very nice rooms for presentations and everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and I believe quite a few marks above what I have had the last few times around Seattle. Looking forward to more lunches and dinners! read more

93 degrees on the patio. WOW! The only thing hotter was the view (Bud Inlet Marina), the server (Dimitri) and the food (Lingcod with a Lemon Beurre Blanc ). read more

Olympia's take on a Pacific Northwest institution, this Anthony's homeport is in a beautiful location right on the Budd Inlet Marina, sharing a parking lot with the Olympia Farmer's Market. I was recently here for a business lunch and had one of the best salmons salads I've had in a while. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and it was prepared with a light green salad with grapefruit (is this a new food trend, its the second time I've had grapefruit in a salad in a month) and a citrus dressing. Really yummy! My friends had the fish and chips (standard, nothing special) and kal bi (unexpected for a place like Anthony's). Overall a great dining experience. Minus one star for being so sterile and mediocre robot-like service. read more

Consistent service. Consistent food quality. Consistent Cleanliness. Yes. Yes. Yes. I like this place. No, I love this place. Especially when they have the huckleberry buckle! They also have a great happy hour.. They know how to prepare seafood properly, and also do a great job preparing their vegetables. In my experience, I have never received overcooked, undercooked, or overseasoned food here - it is always consistent, which I appreciate very much. In addition, as a previous foodserver, I can tell that our entrees have not spent time under the heat lamps - it has always been expedited to us in a timely manner and at the proper temperatures (entrees are hot & salads are crisp). Anthony's is perfect if you are looking to go for a relaxing, delicious dining experience WITHOUT having to gamble on food quality or service; you get the best of both of them here. I would give them 5 stars if they improved their wines by the glass (specifically Pinot Noir & Walla Walla Red selections). It would have been fun for them to offer a wine tasting flight of Wines during Washington Wine Month, but that is just a suggestion.... read more

Enjoyed the atmosphere of this restaurant. The food was great and it was complimented by the service we received. I'd recommend the shrimp pasta for sure. My son ordered the Mac and cheese, but it was too fancy for his liking. The restaurant allowed us to switch it out with a cheeseburger, which I really appreciated. read more

We had a better experience at the other location. The oysters were great the first round. But, when I ordered more of the same kind it was not a pleasant taste like before. I am not sure what was different the second go around. We ordered the crab legs and the vegetables were mush from being overcooked. read more

Used to be better but went last week and it was very disappointing. Service was good but the food was mediocre. My cioppinno tasted like too much black pepper in a watery sauce with tough and rubbery fish (and very little of that). My son said his fish and chips were bland and boring. It's hard to mess those up. If you're going to spend this kind of money go to Budd Bay or Iron Rabbit. Both are less expensive and serve far, far better food. read more

Love Anthony's Homeport. I get the Yellowfin Ahi every time and it never disappoints! Avoid the crab fettucine, not enough crab, too much mushroom...I want meat in my mouth!!!! Keep up the good work Homeport! read more

I love this place. The sunset dinners are my fav. If you get there before 6pm on a week night, they offer a four course meal (appetizer, salad, main course, and dessert.) for $21.99 Lots of things to choose from in that menu. Try it! read more

Great seafood, great service, and reasonable prices. I made reservations for a party of ten on the day of, and they were able to cheerfully accommodate. At the last minute more people joined our party and the hostess promptly added chairs without any fuss. I had the Northwest Cioppino and it was amazing! Everyone in my party loved their food, and are still talking about it days later. I recommend this for groups, but I would come here any time. read more

We stop here every time we come into Olympia. Great harbor view, attentive service and food was excellent. We had the "under $10 menu" chicken almond salad and the clam chowder. Yesterday was my birthday, so my husband and I decided to use an Anthony's gift card, which our son bought for us. We had a 6:00 reservation, thank goodness, since many people were waiting for tables. We had the Crab and Artichoke Dip before dinner, which was scrumptious. I had the Mahi-Mahi, grilled to perfection. My husband had the Shrimp Tempura, also excellent. For dessert, we shared a generous slice of cheese cake. Service was excellent. Super disappointed. I called to make a reservation today 8-26-2016 for Sunday. The girl that answered the phone was unfriendly asked me to hold and I sat there for just over 5 minutes on hold. Hung up going somewhere else. This isn't the first time the service has been terrible. read more

Very pretty location looking toward the downtown Olympia Marina. It's very nicely appointed inside. Food was excellent. Even better than the food was the service by all staff. Waitress was super nice, helpful, and attentive. A steak I ordered was undercooked, but not only did they fix it, the manager came over, comped my meal and chipped in a dessert! The icing on the cake was I left my cell at the table, went back in, and before I got 5 steps, the water server was already running it to me! This is absolutely the best service I've ever received, anywhere! Oh, did I mention the food was superb. I don't normally like seafood, but a couple bites of my girlfriend's parmesan with crab was delicious. We couldn't have asked for more. read more

The Restaurant offered us a free dinner for two because of our bad experience. I was reluctant to try it again, but I gave it a shot. I must say the food was much better the second time. The server was attentive and all courses were served quickly. I appreciate Anthony's taking the time to address my complaints. I'm not ready to give them 4 stars, but I think they deserve a second chance. read more

For over 10 years I've eaten at this haunt. It was a place we went to regularly until about 4 months ago. It started getting strange. And I will say at this point, No more. December 29 we were celebrating a birthday. We called the day before and asked if there was a quiet time. I told her I was attempting to make it right for a Veteran with PTSD. She stated again, we can only take reservation's at 4:30 for dinner and said, "I can't help you with that." So we took a chance. We walked through the kitchen, down to the end of the line of tables, hoping against hope it would be out of the traffic pattern away from the noise. Not only did she ignore the request, she then marched in two multi-table family's, one of them had 3 kids under 2. Screaming the entire time. The food came. An order of oyster's was so far gone they were the size of string beans, not pan fried oyster's. The broccoli/carrots lost their color and fell to the paste category, not steamed vegetable medley. The rice was luke warm, a few currant and a few almonds thrown in, not pilaf. The appearance of the plate was as though it was moving when the items were put on. The bread was gummy and wet for sitting too long wrapped in a wet napkin. We told the waitress about our overall dissatisfaction, she walked away mid sentence. She told the manager, who came to the table 5 minutes later, asking could they bring another oyster plate for me. He promised to comp my meal. (in reality it was a % off the entire bill.) My compatriots took to consuming their meals amidst the loud and raucous crowd, children screaming as children do, no one came to our table. The bottle of wine we purchased was the only good thing at the table and that was finished by the time the replacement meal arrived. The Veteran wanted Salmon. They didn't have any. The friend ordered crab, it was only in noodles. We ordered desert, then the screaming and noise got so bad we couldn't hear one another. We canceled that and took our leave. Over $100 for T R A S H. What W H A T happened to this place? They just didn't care. They didn't care about their food, their dinning room, their placement of people in the dinning room. The don't care about your palette, they don't care about who you are, nor do they cater to your needs. They want their money but you are not right as a customer or consumer. Stand up to restaurants that treat you and your palette like garbage. read more

The last time I visited Anthony's (about a year ago) we were served an oyster with a live millipede squirming in the shell, but today we decided to give it another chance. I have always heard good things and figured it was a fluke or something. I had fish and chips with ginger slaw. The fish tasted fresh and the breading was good and not too heavy, but the coleslaw was basically just a pile of pickled ginger. I am usually a huge fan of coleslaw and ginger, but I was not able to take more than two small bites. My boyfriend got steak and prawns, and though it was cooked well, it was one of the most bland and mediocre pieces of meat either of us have had. If the price was cut in half I could maybe justify it, but for a 32 dollar meal it was very disappointing. It could easily be compared to one you'd find at Applebee's. Our server was very nice, but seemed a little distracted. We ordered clam chowder that never came, and by time he remembered we were already finished and ready to go. I have no complaints about the calamari or cocktails, and I appreciated that the manager was receptive to feedback/didn't charge the meal, but for the price and general experience I would not recommend this place. read more

Really great staff. Been here twice in the last month for dinner. It was a 5 star experience the first week, but the second time around was alright. Service was good, but the food was just alright. I'll visit again in the next month to see if it has improved. read more

I left a negative review a couple of weeks ago and the manager wanted to make it right by giving my wife and I a certificate for free dinners. We went there last night and had a wonderful dinner. I had fish and chips and my wife had the baked lincod with sour cream sauce, they both were delicious. We topped it off with Huckleberry slump. It was to die for. What made the experience so much better was our waiter Andrew, he was informative, effecient, friendly and always there when we needed something. He was so efficient that he made it seem effortless. What a great experience. read more

Just go to Dukes. The Salmon cakes were good, though I think I got unlucky with my second cake; I believe I just got a bad mix and a lot of the salt was packed into a single cake. The veggie with my meal was just a a giant piece of steamed broccoli, left me wanting a little more. Despite this place being so close to home next time I'll just take the drive to Tacoma and get Dukes, better view, better food, better price. read more

I've been to a few different Anthonys restaurants and this location is very cool. The staff was friendly, but the food wasnt amazing. We found what we both ordered to be pretty bland. For being a "nicer" restaurant they werent willing to substitute things (even when willing to pay the difference in price), their reasoning was "we don't have a button on the register to ring it up". Again the waitress was very nice and out of her control. Even though the location was great, I probably won't be eating here again. read more

I went there on a Wednesday night and ordered the lobster dinner special. I thought is was a fantastic deal because it was $19.95. The lobster tail was so small I could only get 3 bites out of it. The asparagus was steamed nicely, but this was what I had substituted for the rice. I should have known that you get what you pay for. I was still very hungry after I finished my dinner. The waiter was friendly though, but the person going around filling water could have paid attention a little better. I ran out twice and had to flag him down. A disappointing visit, probably won't go back for a long time now. read more

We went to Anthony's for dinner the other night, something we do about once a month. I ordered a martini before dinner and when the bill arrived, there was a $3.00 surcharge for the martini. Come on, Anthony's. Does it take that much more bartender time to make a martini than any other drink? I think this is just a case of nickel and diming the customers. We'll think twice before coming back here if that's going to be their policy. read more

My wife is from Olympia and this place was where you would bring a date. Today we had brunch. The two salads on the menu (chicken almond and a bacon chop thing) did not seem in theme with the Seafood reputation of this place...so I asked the waiter to make a salad; he did; Caesar and fried Oysters..he gets a thumbs up for service on this. My wife ordered the breaded Trout huge portion and fresh greens and adequate flavor; but fried and fish is easy to do eh? We sat outside..odd thing really the boats are nice but single Port of Olympia container crane less than 150 yards away makes you feel like you are on the set of Empires Strikes Back for the snow walker scene...and a path way a few feet away from the tables is a bit intrusive. The wine list bad..nothing red from California and the lady I asked for suggestions was blowing some hot air about "underlying berries flavors" and the like; better off if she would have said we don't carry anything really outside of Washington..I get it. So we went back at the invitation of the general manager, and had we had this experience the first time, I would have written a 5 star review. This is an okay place. I go there for lunch quite a bit because it has an incredible view of Bud Bay that my guests really enjoy. I usually order the Hawaiian cobb salad or fish tacos. Yesterday, the waitress recommended an oyster burger, since they were having an "oyster festival." I told her that I'd had a lot of bad oyster burgers at various restaurants, and that I was more than a little skeptical. However, she assured me that theirs was great. Wrong. Either it had been overcooked or it had been cooked in old oil -- the breading was dark brown and greasy. It was my fault for ordering the thing in the first place. I also wonder about the process of taking lunch reservations, since I've gone with and without, and I always get a ten minute wait. Also, they do have take-out. But, you have to place your order at the restaurant. Go figure. This is a good place for a business lunch and the food is decent. read more

Very nice place. Atmosphere is great. If you want a great happy hour this is the place. From 3-6:30 I believe you won't regret it. If you like oysters baked or raw, clams and shrimp you won't be disapointed. All beers on tap are discounted. Half pound of clams is only $5, thats more than half off the regular price. The baked oysters are the best .50 a piece and they are delicious. Same with the oyster shooters. You must try to sushi nachos. Awesome! Raw tuna mixed with I think was a little pineapple then placed on individual chips and they aren't skimpy on the sushi portion. The food is good too. I love the seafood fettucini. read more
