In my opinion, this is one of the best restaurants in Olympia. Other places are just as expensive, but they don't nearly have such good food. Mom and I went here for some steak, and Anthony's did the steak wonderfully (if a bit over-priced .. open up a Jak's Grill and you'll never see me back at Anthony's again). The prawns I got left something seriously to be desired. Maybe the chef confused the order and thought it was "Steak with the smallest shrimp you can find". It was a very sad pile of "prawns' I got. Tasted great, though. The server was wonderful. I actually ordered some oysters on the half shell. Mom tried an oyster for the first time and made the face and immediately downed half her wine glass. LOL. I then tasted the oysters - they really weren't that great. I mentioned it to the server. I really do like kumamoto (spelling?) oysters! Some of the ones were my favorite kinds.. but for some reason they just weren't very tasty. Anyway, the server ended up taking the oysters off our bill. Unnecessary, but very awesome of him. They had a huge fish menu, too. I'd definitely come back here for the fish. :) read more

Good menu with nice selection, plus the specials! The service was professional and friendly. From us calling for a reservation (just in case) plus we wanted to seat out in their patio. The view of boats and people watching add to the experience and most important; the food, dessert and coffee were well prepared and tasty! read more

We stopped here on a Friday Night for my wife's birthday, and ended up leaving rather disappointed. The pricing was OK, but poor cleanliness, poor service, and mediocre food means we won't be back. The majority of their "Fresh and local" daily menu was explicitly frozen items from elsewhere. My $35 King Salmon was overcooked, and my wife's Steak was overpriced for the size and quality. The worst part, however, was the side items. My wife's was served with mashed potatoes that she says tasted old, and mine came with a potato dish that sounded amazing on the menu (scalloped russet potatoes with a ribbon of sweet potatoes and gruyere cheese) but mediocre in execution. Combined with a server that never brought us a basket of the delicious sourdough bread (a reocurring issue, looking at the other reviews), the 15 minutes we waited after eating before they noticed we were ready for our check, and the lipstick-residue covered water glasses waiting for us on the table, we will not be back. read more

Pretty dang good tonight!!!! My grandpa got the steak and prawns! I tasted both and it was delicious! I got the scallops which were also yummy and generous on the portions! Service was attentive and friendly. read more

Anthony's Restaurant - Scallops! Delish. - Seafood Near Me - Olympia, Washington

What a lovely experience! I was visiting Olympia and was treated to dinner at Anthony's. The restaurant has spectacular views of the port and a welcoming atmosphere. Copper River salmon was in and it did not disappoint! We enjoyed seasonal cocktails with our appetizers and a wonderful glass of wine with dinner on the recommendation of our server, Noah. The timing and presentation was spot-on and we especially appreciated Noah taking the time to chat with us about some things to do in the area. Times are tough in the service industry, but you wouldn't have known it last night! read more

Enjoyed the seafood here, went with a few other folks. The service was good and everyone enjoyed their meals. The server introduced us to some good Spokane distilled gin and vodka. Perfect walking distance from the doubletree hotel. read more

I heard that you are open for in person dining. I called to find out what personal information you would be taking as I value privacy very much. The person answering the phone let me know that there is no law that requires that you take any personal information from me and that you would not be taking any personal info from me! You made my day, Anthony's! I am happy to drive 90 minutes from Seattle to support your restaurant and enjoy a meal. I already know that your food is delicious. Freedom and privacy are essential and I am so grateful to have a beautiful restaurant to go to who understands this. :) See you soon! read more

Tanya was the best! She was so friendly, made us feel right at home. The food was great and Tanya's suggestions were spot on. Will definitely visit here again when we get back to Olympia! read more

A Truly awful experience itemized: (1) party of 7 was set for only 6. Repeated requests had to be made to get menus, dinnerware, glasses etc.. (2) had to request bread for the table multiple times. (3) When dinnerware was finally brought to the table, waiter tossed onto middle of table. (4) entrees brought immediately after appetizers (5) one member of the party never received their entree (?), even after several requests. And the entree was a salad !‍ (6) Had to request water glass refill, then waiter topped off a lemonade with water (?) (7) after complaining of the never received entree, manager apologized for poor service, then never returned. Waited on a check that never arrived only to track the manager down again to find out the restaurant waived the charges. Appreciated the gesture but would have been nice to not to wait an additional 30 minutes to find that out (?). On the plus side, those who did receive their meal felt the food was very good. SUMMARY: keep the back of the house and retool the front. Wait staff is far too raw & inexperienced to justify the prices. read more

My wife and I were recently in Olympia for a wedding and decided to go out for a "nice" meal. Based on the reviews, Anthony's seemed like an obvious choice. Unfortunately, the best I can describe Anthony's is "upscale Denny's". We called and asked for reservations at 7:30 for two, the hostess asked us if 7:45 was ok, which as said would work. Our thought was that we were lucky to get that as they must have been almost booked up being it was a Saturday night! Upon our arrival we were a little taken aback. The restaurant was half empty, so we were unsure why we couldn't get the time we requested. In fact, in the section we were seated, we were only one of two couples in the entire section! The restaurant itself is very open, and unfortunately also very loud. For whatever reason they have their waiter station in the middle of the floor so you constantly hear the clattering of silverware and the clanging of dishes. When we asked the waiter what he would recommend, he said the crab cakes were the best. We ordered those as well as the calamari as our appetizer. The calamari was good, but the crab cake left little to be desired. It was obviously deep fried and I found several pieces of crab shell in the meat while eating it. My wife and I both ordered pasta dishes (Seafood Pasta and Dungeness Crab Linguini). Both were OK flavor wise, but again I found several pieces of crab shell in my pasta. Between the crab cakes and the pasta, I would say the seafood is fresh but poorly cleaned. Based on the dinner, we decided to skip dessert. All in all, we were very disappointed as we expected more. This is not an upscale restaurant, it's a notch above Denny's. If you're looking for a nice sit down meal, you might want to look elsewhere. Side note: Our table was very, tacky? Sticky? We couldn't slide anything across the table, we're unsure if this is purposeful or due to cleanliness? Just felt like it would be something worth mentioning. read more

Came for Happy Hour with the girls last weekend. We wanted to enjoy the beautiful day on the patio. The service was great - surprisingly so as I've noticed a lot of restaurants lack good customer service for those that eat outside on their patios. Not here! We had a fabulous time and the drinks and food were fantastic. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I felt that even for a Happy Hour menu, the portions of food were slightly on the small side - at least as far as the crab and artichoke dip goes. I felt the clams were decent amount for the prize and was pleased with that. Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely be going back. read more

The view is fantastic and the service was great. But, sadly the food was just average. Treat me poorly, sit me in a cold corner but if you feed me good food I will keep coming back! I had salmon that was just sort of blah, boring. A bite of steak was cooked properly but again, just average. It wasn't just me, they have a great selection of seafood but none of us (table of 4) found anything to be all that special. I would however return for after work drinks and appetizers with friends. read more

Visiting Olympia from Seattle for a birthday gathering for a friend. Nicely greeted at the door was seated at a nice table with a beautiful view of the marina. We did let the the host know that we had a friend coming and gave his name and described him. He was seated at the wrong table for about 20 minutes. The server was friendly but seemed a bit flustered and over seated. Our drinks were served out of order. We all ordered the sunset specials, again the server forgot who ordered what and I was the left out of the mix because I was given something I didn't order. Who ever who was helping her serve was in such a hurry it was very uncomfortable to be bombarded with plates that weren't even ours. After about 8 minutes I received my order. It was pan fried oysters the same thing ordered by the birthday girl. These oysters were breaded and fried, my guests were over cooked. The oysters did not taste fresh.:( That night she got very sick with food poisoning, my stomach was upset but not food poison upset. I felt so bad that my friend got food poisoning on her birthday:(. All in all the quality of the food was similar to going to Dennys. The service was that of Red Lobster. Probably won't be back for food maybe a trip to the bar. Maybe read more

Awesome food with great service. The view is fun too!

I've been to Olympia twice, and either because of a lack of choices, or because the locals adamantly recommend this joint, I've visited during both of my trips out. This is definitely a classic quality restaurant in a great location. First off, I must say that Olympian Oysters ROCK! I love them, and this is the only place I've ever had them. Very fresh, smaller than your run-of-the-mill oyster, and very sweet. The entrees here were very nice, we took a client who also thoroughly enjoyed himself. The desserts were also fantastic. If you find yourself in Olympia, this is a sure win. read more

Holy sweet mother. This was one of the best meals I've ever had. Had the Sunset Dinner for $20, four courses: Wild Salmon Croccantini 3/5: two thin crackers with garlic mash and delicious blackened salmon. It was pretty good, OK, though mash on a cracker?? The salmon was so good though. Clam chowder (cup) 5/5: perfect and amazing. Beef kabob & prawn 6/5: THE BEST THING I'VE EVER EATEN. Grilled beef, peppers, and onions on a kabob on a bed of spinach salad with corn, cream sauce, and almonds; wild rice with lime; crunchy coconut prawns with a sweet teriyaki sauce Bailey's Irish Cream chocolate mousse: 5/5 A perfect ending, even though I was so insanely full I could barely eat anything. But it was light, sweet and a little bitter, creamy, delicious! Portions were a great size; there was no skimping even though it was a set menu. They also served hot sourdough (so good!!), and we ordered a delicious oaky, Washington chardonnay for $7.50 a glass (Columbia Valley represent!). The other two people in our party ordered shrimp cocktail app (meh...taste mediocre in my opinion, but she really enjoyed it). The apps were more of an amuse-bouche, which is fine considering the size of the sides and entrees and desserts), caesar and blue cheese salads (said they were delicious, though they were over-dressed for me), rainbow trout (panko crusted, very very good), battered oysters (said they were the best she has had), and creme brulee (not quite set enough, still a bit thin with a distinct condensed milk taste. Not the best). Minor flaws aside (not very many, all very tasty and economical), with the service and speed and quality, variety, etc etc etc a delicious dinner. Atmosphere: 5/5! We were seated next to the window overlooking Percival's Landing, though it was busy it did not feel crowded, the service was great without being intrusive, and so on. Quite an enjoyable meal. Definitely will recommend to anyone coming through Olympia looking for a nice night out and some delicious PNW eats. read more

Solid seafood form a northwest classic. Nothing revelatory here, but you'll be satisfied. Fish is always well-prepared and they have a good array of choices. I've been here with kids and they were good about it; it's also handy that you can go run the toddlers around outside on the waterfront to burn off some energy if required. The summer seasonal desserts can be worth the wait, using fresh produce from around the state (peaches, huckleberries, strawberries), so save some room for one. Note that there is nothing "wrong" with Anthony's; it's a good restaurant, probably really a 3.5 star kind of place. Important to make reservations if you don't want a wait. read more

I'm not from Olympia but whenever I visit my parents, we go to Anthony's for special celebrations (Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc.). I've had OK dining experiences here. Nothing spectacular, but nothing horrible either. If you stick with the fish entrees, you'll be fine. My mother ordered the steak and was disappointed. Last time I dined here I ordered the grilled halibut with baked potato and grilled veggies. Again, nothing spectacular, but OK. The blackberry cobbler was the highlight of the dinner! Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. read more

I have been to the Seattle location and I have to say the Olympia location was a wonderful experience as well. It started out with a beer that complimented seafood. I choose the whistling pig Hef. They then brought me fresh sour dough bread. I then order the calamari which was cooked perfectly, no chew at all, then for dinner the scampi prawns. The prawns where also cooked perfectly, the rice was also great sweet and fresh. I will be returning again to Antony's. This is also a little pricy so be prepared. read more

Service was slow, we only got a waiter once we asked for one after being seated for 20 min. But that's fine I've worked restaurants at Brunch, I get it. After that the server came around seldom, and didn't stick around long enough for me to get a refill on coffee, once the coffee came that is. Menu was small, food was alright but not worth the price. Go somewhere else, it'll be cheaper and you'll get better service. read more

Really, I have to say...the food here appeals to people with unadventurous palates. My in-laws consider it the best in town. I love them and respect them dearly, but these are people who eat veggies and cheese sauce from cans. It's in a pretty location. It's priced so that those folks who rarely eat anywhere interesting feel like they're getting something great. They're not, especially at lunch. I had a pretty acceptable piece of seared Ahi here once. It also cost more than an AMAZING piece of seared Ahi costs in a luxury beachfront restaurant in Maui. Seriously. I'm not joking. There is no excuse for that. If you want a view, ambiance and interesting food, you're better off at Dockside or Swing. read more

Though I came with no expectations, the burst of flavor in every meal soon blew me away. While a bit pricey, the food is worth it, as the steak in my seseme steak and salad dish was juicy and flavorful if a little too sweet. Additionally, the clam chowder was rich and creamy, with not too much salt. The clams and mussels were tender, and weren't too fishy. Fries were great, with just enough crisp. All the ingredients were fresh and were seasoned extremely well. All in all, the food was undiniably spectacular and I definitely recommend it for anything from a date to a family dinner. read more

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I always make it a point to go when I'm in town and I wish I lived closer to could go more often. I know business is challenging during covid restrictions and I've witnessed some rude customer interactions everywhere. I've always felt safe eating here and much appreciate their careful attention to safety. I met the manager, Kyle, and she was super sweet, helpful, and cared about our dinning experience. Had a long day of sight seeing and Anthony's was down the block from the hotel. We were seated quickly, and we chose outside. The waitress was slammed so we had 2-3 people helping. I had halibut cakes, which were so good-flaky and not over cooked. My husband had salmon, which I don't care for, but I tasted it--hey you're on the coast right?--and it wasn't fishy and pretty good! Clam chowder was good. My kiddo's prawns were too greasy. It was the breading I think. read more

This has been one of my favorite restaurants since they opened in the early aughts. The view is beautiful year round and during the spring and summer outdoor seating is an option. The food is always good, I recommend the calamari, the Caesar salad (add anchovies) and ANY of the desserts. I recently went there for breakfast and got free coffee cake with this wonderful cinnamon butter! I don't usually take food home because it's seafood but I absolutely boxed up that coffee cake and butter! Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. read more

First off, 2 stars because of the view. We went to Anthony's Olympia about 3 months ago. Wasn't impressed. Friends of ours wanted to go last night and reluctantly I caved in. STILL disappointed. The clam chowder was no better than what I get out of a can. I'm from New England and this chowder is substandard. The pan fried oysters were bland and flavorless in a breading. Food was lukewarm and stacked in front of us in a reckless manner. Dismal at best. Now the waitress, constantly interrupted me when I was speaking to my friend (and that's when she showed up). I cannot fathom a $100+ bill for service like this. I had a meal at Red Lobster and it was way better. In fact, I left them 5 stars. I'll never return to ANY Anthony's restaurant. read more

I've come here on more than one occasion and each time was a good dining experience. They have really thick and rich clam chowder here that tastes fresh! The Anthony's cobb salad is really tasty too - it has bacon, bleu cheese, fresh fruit like mango, avocado, greens, and shrimp with a vinaigrette dressing..soo yummy. I do not recommend the seafood fettuccine though. Anthony's is more on the pricey side though, but it's well-worth it! You can really taste how fresh everything is. Good flavors! Service was quick and friendly. Environment was lovely with ambiance lighting and lit candles. Nice view and plenty of parking. read more

Used to love Anthonys. We've been to this one many times and tonight decided this will be our last visit. Of the seven meals and the four deserts on our table only two of the meals could be considered a as fairly good. The rest at best were possibly mediocre. Steak that was ordered medium was rare, prawns were cooked to the stage of rubber, and the pastas were flavorless. We would have appreciated being checked on and being asked how our meals were so we could have given this feedback in person. For an average of over $35 dollars per person, without drinks, I expect an above average meal. Didn't come close to receiving that here. read more
