They charged me $80 to plug in their fancy machine just to verify my suspicions, which kinda sucked, and I think it could've been diagnosed without the fancy machine. When they gave me the estimate I asked if I could bring in my own parts in because their prices were steep, but they didn't allow it.. I think they were mad because I didn't want to get the work done and was trying to save money, but they ended up sabotaging my hood latch, disconnecting the release cable from the hood latch mechanism, making it impossible to pop the hood. I ended up having to remove the grill and the latch mechanism completely to solve it myself. I thank them for giving me the opportunity to learn more about cars, which I did, but I was thoroughly pissed they messed with my stuff and charged me out the butt. I don't recommend this place.

We took our car in for inspection. They told my husband that the rear brake caliper was seized and…read morethey recommended a new caliper. The brakes were working just fine for us so we declined the service. We took the rear tire off and discovered that the issue wasn't the entire caliper, it was the E-Brake cable bracket. A little PB blaster and WD-40 fixed it right up. They wanted to charge us $600+ for something that was fixed for $8. Overall, they LOOK for something to charge you for in order to pass inspection. Only go here if you want to be scammed. Edit in response to business response: The brake cable connects to a bracket on the outside of the caliper (picture included). This bracket is attached to a physical cable in order separate this actuation method from the brake pedal which works via hydraulic actuation. When we received the vehicle, the brake cable was unattached so I think that's what you mean by "much better condition". The bracket was also stuck in the open position. Therefore it was not engaging the caliper in order to compress the brake pads against the rotor. This was verified by viewing the caliper actuation when the brake pedal was pressed. So I disagree strongly that it was stuck in the on position for the entirety of the inspection. In fact, in the pictures sent to me, you can clearly see it's in the open position. It was obvious to me that the caliper was in working order and the problem lie elsewhere. The jiggling handle went away after I re-attached the brake cable. So I guess I should thank you for diagnosing it, but not for trying to sell me a replacement when all it needed was a repair. I agree it wouldn't and shouldn't pass inspection before some penetrating oil was sprayed on the bracket. I'd also like to add that the person who explained the problem to me barely knew anything about the issue when questioned on specifics. All I got was "it's seized". This was another indicator that there was a severe gap in knowledge for some of your technicians and I needed to scrutinize the result. I am a car enthusiast, engineer, and have rebuilt the front end on my Cooper. I know what I'm talking about.

On extremely short notice, they squeezed us in same day, diagnosed the issue correctly and completely repaired the van. One coil, 6 plugs, 5 boots and an oil change later and it runs like a dream. It's pretty rare these days to find such honest, quality and fairly priced service and so glad this local shop is part of our Cranberry Township community. I'd highly recommend Tommy and his team of experts to anyone. They are absolutely fantastic.

I chose this shop because of the many positive reviews and I wanted to support local business…read more However, I had a very disappointing experience. Lack of Transparency, Disrespectful and Unprofessional. That's all I have to say about Tao. I brought my car in for a simple job: Replace the AF sensor (B1S1) to pass emissions, complete the inspection, and check a loose bracket near the rear wheel. I clearly explained the order of work. However, the wrong sensor was ordered, and the emissions test was performed before replacing it - resulting in a failure that COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED. I had to comeback for re-inspection after replacing the sensor (about 200 miles running). Instead of addressing my original concerns, I was presented with additional costly issues (axle, brake caliber, spark plugs). This was confusing, as I had recently passed a PA enhanced inspection at another shop, and none of these issues were mentioned. I also double checked my maintenance paperwork at Lexus Dealer, my spark plugs were replaced at around 142,000 miles (current mileage ~183,000), which is within their normal lifespan. The spark plugs will usually last for 80,000-100,000 miles. A second shop confirmed there was no issue with them - a full diagnostic were performed. Moreover, the loose bracket, which is the first thing I asked him repaired, was NEVER FIXED. I don't think he did even pay attention to it. Communication was poor throughout. Calls and emails were not returned, and updates were unclear. When I asked for clarification about the new findings, in-person, the response felt dismissive and unprofessional rather than helpful with: "I can't say anything about other shops doing", "Do you trust me?", "Do you want to do it or not?". For the re-inspection (even with an appointment), I had to wait about 2 hours. After reviewing other 1-star feedback, it appears this may be a pattern - customers come in for a simple service but are advised to complete additional, costly repairs without clear explanation. I understand businesses need to make money, but customers deserve transparency, proper communication, and respect. At minimum, the original concerns should be addressed clearly before introducing new issues. Overall, I felt pressured into unnecessary repairs without sufficient explanation. I would recommend BE CAREFUL and NOT FALLING ON low inspection prices or some "good" high/five start ratings.

I would need to get the back within an hour or two, and I would have to wait in the shop or nearby until it's completed. The guy blew me off and said "if you want you can bring it in tonight and drop it off or tomorrow morning and I can take a look at it for you." I said ok sounds good thank you. The next day rolls around and I have an appointment in the early afternoon. The owner didnt sound interested in my time frame, and it seemed like it didnt really matter if i brought my car in or not that day. I decided to take it there immediately after my appointment. Upon arrival there were no cars in the shop at all. It was an hour before closing, and the guy was just standing at the counter. I said "hey man do you work here?" He says he is the owner. I said ok I called yesterday. He says "well you can just get the f*** out for wasting my time" and im like "whoa buddy i dont know what the issue is. I dont see any other cars here." He says "i expected you to be down here and I didnt schedule any other work because I thought you would show up and now you wasted my time and my money" i told him "yeah I understand how that could be frustrating but i didnt think it was a firm appointment, you didnt really make it seem like it was set in stone" and he just proceeded to tell me that i should have just picked up the phone (he never even tried to call me if that were the case) and he basically just told me to get the f*** out and that he wouldn't work on my car. Funny enough this is the second time I tried to take my car here. The first time I tried doing business with him he treated me like an idiot on the phone and was very belittling, BUT he did a diagnostic on my car and helped me get to the bottom of an issue i was having.
