The leak points were not obvious, except for the fluid dripping from beneath the engine block pointing to their points of origin. Joe agreed that because the leaks were far from the radiator, I wasn't looking at a full-on replacement of that unit. After his inspection, he located not one but two sources of line leaks (not surprising for a car of its age) and provided an estimate that was reasonable and exactly what the job ended up costing. In addition, and on late notice, I asked Joe to handle my 2024 inspection. While doing a thorough exam, he pulled my wheels off and discovered that my back brakes were just about shot. Once again, he provided a reasonable estimate and took care of that issue, saving me a possible extreme expense via breakdown because of the aging brakes. So, two issues resolved, all leading to the car passing its 2024 inspection. All that done within three days!!! Having grown up with a father who was a mechanic and with long years of experience with repair shops: I give 10 out of 10 STARS to E & S Automotive. When faced with unexpected, and sometimes not easily diagnosed, car issues, a customer hopes for honesty, an estimate that matches or is close to final repair cost, and timely repairs (with daily updates!). He responded very rudely, saying, "We don't do inspections until 8:00 a.m." I calmly and politely explained that I was unaware because there was no signage indicating that inspections began at 8:00 a.m. He replied, "That's not my problem. I've been working here for 10 years, and this shop, like every other shop, doesn't do inspections until 8:00 a.m." His entire demeanor was confrontational, and he treated me as though I was trespassing simply for asking about an inspection. I explained that I had been coming to this location for the past two years and had never been treated this way before. At that point, another male customer walked over, and the pictured employee's attitude immediately changed. He then turned back to me and said, "Move your car outta here," while shooing me away as if I were a dog. As I was getting back into my car, he continued talking about me to the other customer, making comments that caused the customer to look at me as though I had created a disturbance. The entire interaction was humiliating, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. . The entire interaction was demeaning, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. My vehicle's camera captured the encounter, although unfortunately it did not record the audio. Every paying customer deserves to be treated with courtesy and respect. I left feeling singled out because of the way I was treated. While I can't know the employee's motivation, the interaction left me with the impression that I was treated differently as an African American woman.

I have been driving old Saabs for 10 years now and I love them. I could probably fix many of the problems better than a 'generic' (read: non european car specialist) mechanic. Most mechanics look at my car and laugh at me. Literally. A number of them have actually given me a ton of free service because they can't figure out the right thing to drain for a simple oil change (this has gotten me, among other things, a free transmission fluid service and a radiator flush). What this means is that when I need something big done to my nearly 20 year old car that I love dearly, I need to find someone who isn't going to make whatever problem worse than it is. Or send me home with a handful of new problems that I subsequently won't be able to afford to fix. Enter European Motorsport. Other than the guys back at home in CT who have been fixing my many Saabs for as long as I have been driving them, this is the first place I have been in the area that actually knows what they are doing, and won't rake you over the coals the way a dealer will. Don't get me wrong: This doesn't mean they're cheap. What this does mean is that you know they are fixing the problem you actually came in for, using quality (Saab or Bosch, usually) parts, and leaving happy instead of wondering how long its going to take you to notice that something is MAJORLY wrong that wasn't when you went in. For simple oil changes and the like, I usually head to a quickie, no appointment place (because planning ahead is NOT my forte) but for anything requiring a half a brain and actual experience with foreign cars, this is where my old Swedish friend comes. I feel much better knowing the person working on my car has actually seen one before! If you have a Saab, Volvo, BMW, or any other European car that needs some tlc, bring it here.

The first experience was having the business do an oil change on the car that I did not ask for. When I addressed this initially the owner told me that I did ask for the service. However, he did not persist and told me there would be no charge. My recent experience was going in to ask for the AC drain to be cleared because it was clogged. They cleared the drain and called to tell me that my AC needed to be charged for $468. I was working and not thinking so I agreed. That was the mistake that I made. I had recently returned from a 14 hour trip in the car and the AC was working fine. Nice and cold. Since they charged the AC i no longer have AC in the car. I have addressed this with the owner. The first time he stated that I asked for the service and told him my AC was not working. That is why they did the AC charge. This was not true. I left the car to be worked on and the owner stated that they overcharged the AC and the condenser kept starting and stopping because of this. He removed freone and it calmed down. This week the condenser is not firing at all. I returned to the owner and told him of the problem. He said it would take 2 days to work on the car and figure it out. I asked for a refund and told him I did not want to do business with him anymore. He informed me that he could not process a refund. I told him I will be sure to post a review. He said he did not care because the neighborhood trusts him. This business is not honest. You will pay for service that is not needed and have new problems with your car.

I went to get my brakes replaced the first time and just recently asked them to check my car because it was making a strange sound. They checked it out, drove it around, lifted it up, and did a thorough inspection. They determined that nothing was wrong and the sound (now gone) was just from rust that wore off when driving. I asked them what I owed them for their time and they didn't charge me anything. Feels like the first mechanic in a while that I can trust. Will continue to come back!

We dropped our car off Saturday morning around 10:30 a.m. and were told we would receive a text and email with the inspection results and estimated repair cost. We waited all day. Around 4:30 p.m., I called to check on it, only to find out they had already closed. Apparently, no one thought it was important to mention that my car would be staying there overnight. So, because of their lack of communication, I spent the entire weekend without my car, was essentially stranded, and had to miss plans I had already made. Not because there was some major unexpected repair taking days to complete--but because apparently no one thought to pick up the phone and tell me they weren't returning my vehicle. I received the estimate Sunday morning and immediately responded. I even drove down there, only to find out they were closed until Monday. Monday morning came and went. No response to my email. No response to my phone call. Finally, around 2:30 p.m., I called again. And this is where the customer service really took a turn. Instead of an apology or even an acknowledgment that keeping someone's car all weekend without telling them might be, you know, inconvenient, I was told I should have told them when I dropped the car off that I needed it back that day. Apparently, when you drop your car off at 10:30 on a Saturday, you are now expected to specifically announce that you would like to have your car back sometime before Monday. Good to know. They also told me the website references them being closed on Sundays, but it also said they are closed on Saturdays which is not true. So not much of a valuable source. I was also told I should have called earlier Saturday to find out what was happening. Because apparently the customer is responsible for chasing down the service department all day to find out whether their own vehicle is being returned. Meanwhile, I still haven't gotten a satisfactory explanation for the actual repair issue. They replaced my muffler in 2023, and now, only about 15,000 miles later, I'm being told it needs to be replaced again. I asked a very reasonable question: Why? Was the part defective? Was there an issue with the installation? What caused it to fail so quickly? I still don't have a clear answer. And then there's the $75 inspection fee. I was repeatedly reminded that they were doing me a "courtesy" by not charging the full $150 inspection fee. After being left without my vehicle for the weekend and receiving essentially zero communication, that "courtesy" didn't feel particularly generous. I completely understand that repairs take time. I understand that businesses get busy. I understand that sometimes a vehicle can't be finished when expected. What I don't understand is why communicating that to a customer seems to be so difficult. A simple phone call Saturday saying, "We won't be able to get this back to you today, so we'll need to keep it until Monday," would have prevented this entire situation. Instead, I was left without my car all weekend, missed plans, had to chase them down for information, and then was told that the whole situation was essentially my fault because I didn't specifically ask for my car back that day. I've been a loyal customer for years, but this experience has seriously changed my opinion. The repair itself is one issue. The way a customer is treated when something goes wrong tells you much more about a business. If you value your time, your transportation, and basic communication from the people working on your vehicle, I would think twice before using this service department.

In this instance, the owner is not only trying to save face but he's pulling all sorts of hare brained accusations out of his backside. So since Yelp does not allow for the option of a direct reply in the "comments" section, my only recourse is to "update" this review. No, I did not go reapply a new tint before my last inspection, which was done at Mass Inspections and refreshingly no nonsense, trouble free. What I did do was, I dug up my old tinting papers and found that the original tint I had on my windows which Aris Auto claimed was in violation was actually AT the 35% Visible Light Transmission level that is legal minimum in the state of Massachusetts! *That* is why no other inspection place in my 7 years of living in this state had ever questioned it, nor have the police ever pulled me over for it. In fact, I see cars with darker tints all the time on the roads. Again: I would trust this establishment as far as I can throw it. And it amuses me that the owner brings up how long he's been in business as some sort of seal of integrity. Comcast has been around for 57 years, as a matter of fact...and it's one of the most widely and bitterly complained about companies in the US.
