I have been seeing Kim at Anthony Vince for over 3 years and we have gotten my appointments down to a science. I think in that time, I have maybe had only 2-3 nails chip and it's usually my fault. The space is large and they can take on quite a few customers at a time. There are extensive color options and service options, though I always get dip. I have gotten my nails done there in groups for special events, as well. As long as you plan ahead and make an appointment, they are very accommodating and everyone is so friendly! read more

One star is the minimum, so that's what I'd give. I have had three manicures and one pedicure. My first time having a manicure was good. My second manicure was terrible - the gel polish chipped immediately. I also had an eyebrow wax that took off no hair. I have no idea how that's possible, but when I pointed out it wasn't working, the tech comped it. The salon was busy, the techs were both overwhelmed, so I thought I would give Anthony Vince one more chance. It's located in The Corners, which is convenience and generally known to have better quality shops. This one is a do not go, see other reviews after mine for confirmation. When I came in last week, the salon was 60% full, with open chairs and tables and techs. The technician for my pedicure was wonderfully kind and gave an amazing foot massage. He was not as skilled at the pedicure, but was often distracted by someone who kept walking by to check on him. The toes weren't shaped well and the gel polish was horrible. It was meant to look bubble gum pink, but under the UV lamp it turned almost completely white. The nails were unevenly cut and my toes look really bad. A toe bled. My feet were scrubbed, but white peeling skin wasn't fully removed and there was very little cuticle removal. I was whisked away to a table for my manicure, so I didn't have time to properly check. The tech who did my manicure was also very distracted. He kept looking at a woman in the front, as though he had a duty to beat an unseen clock. He did not cut my nails and barely shaped them, despite my repeated asking for the nail beds to be pushed back and cuticles trimmed along with better shaping. What cuticle he did remove he cut too close, causing me to have light bleeds in 3 places. I was randomly cut down my middle finger in two places too. My nails came out jagged and rough at the ends. The nail polish, a different gel color, chipped on my pinky finger within 8 hours. It's 6 days later and all but two of my fingernails have completely chipped off, similar to how regular nail polish chips off. This branch of Anthony Vince uses low quality gel nail polish at the salon. This is a huge deal and I honestly think they should be closed for false advertising. I paid full price for services not rendered and products not as described. Twice. The girl at the counter, aged somewhere between 16-25 has never been helpful, hoping anyone who complains simply goes away. The place has visible dust on its pillars and other surfaces did not seem clean. I would like to mention that I still tipped every technician because it is apparent they are overworked and underpaid. Perhaps the rent is too high, otherwise I can't explain how they would cut so many corners and always be 60-110% full. I feel the issues I describe are not technician issues, they are business model and management issues. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. Ordered a full acrylic set. The woman first cut my nails down so short so they were stinging and raw. She then slapped on a ton of the acrylic base (idk what you call it) so it was a mess and like a quarter inch thick. Then she proceeded to use the drill and cut my cuticle area raw so it was bleeding and stinging like crazy. I left with bloody painful hands, uneven polish, and sharp bits sticking out. Not to mention the horrid shape she gave me (they were uneven pointed in odd directions and all different shapes). I went there 2 more times because I wanted to give them another chance but it was the same exact result. It took about 2 and a half weeks for my hands to heal. They also had the audacity to ask for a tip after all that. read more

I got a gel pedicure on 12/30, which was nice overall, though a bit pricey at $75. I had planned ahead since I was leaving for vacation on the 5th and wanted to have my nails done. However, less than three days later, the polish on three of my toes completely came off--not chipped, just gone. I reached out to them twice but never received a response. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to go back in before my trip, which was really disappointing. I won't be returning. read more

WOW. Have you read these terrible reviews?! Personally I had a terrible experience this weekend there with Cindy P. She was incredibly rude, yelling at other people while I was there. It was very obvious she didn't want to do what she was doing and she barely touched my feet. It seemed she was mad and really didn't even scrub my feet, which i guess is better than hurting me. It was so weird. Then the massage chair broke and she laughed at me. I was literally going to walk out after that. The whole experience was pretty humiliating. I paid a hefty price as well.. It was honestly the worst experience I've ever had at a salon. Weird and negative vibes, not my thing. I won't be coming back and I will be telling others the same. Edit: Wow have you read these reviews? Have you read the responses from "management?" No wonder they dont allow reviews on their web page. These people dont give a shit and it looks like they've caused some serious infection issues as well. So gross. Terrible service. I scheduled an appointment for a gel mani/pedi with nail art for my hands (only wanted stripes on a few nails). I was told the person I was scheduled with would be able to do stripes. Not only was the polish sloppy, the person was unable to do stripes. After I complained about the polish, I was then rescheduled with the same person to re-do my polish. I asked for someone else. The other person also couldn't do stripes and the polish was just as sloppy. The photos are from the first appointment. Needless to say, I do not recommend this place. read more

Horrible experience all around. A blaring fire alarm was going off for a very long time before anyone did any thing about it. Also I asked for a full set, referring to acrylics but instead got gel x. A nail fell off 3 days after they were done after I was charged a very typical acrylic price. They weren't done great either so don't be fooled by the fancier name and salon. I'm a college student who was only home for the weekend and their policy allows free repairs only for a week so i'd have to pay for them to be fixed. read more

I called the day prior booking my appt to see if the facility did designs, I was told yes. I arrived the next day for my appt and shows the lady two ideas of what I was thinking; the first was a bit in depth, she shook her head no. The second was simple flowers, she said no we don't do that here. I showed her a basic color, cateye light green, sage color. She brought me over a red and asked if that would do. I said no so she brought me different greens to look at. Once she started on my nails she burned me with the drill bit and then cut into my cuticle too deep and created a little cut. It's been two days and my polished acrylic set is already chipping. I did get a discount so that was nice. On the plus, the place was super nice inside. read more

I gave this spot a final chance after the last time I was here (and the person giving me a pedicure watched tv on her phone while she was doing my nails) and I will never come back. I got a dip manicure on Monday afternoon. By Wednesday afternoon 2 nails had massively chipped (I had put my hand in my pocket) and at least three more had deep surface cracks. I came in and said I just wanted it all removed. They sat me with a bowl and let me soak it off myself - no one came by to assist in filing off the dip. It was completely soaked off in less than 5 minutes (which is not typically the case with dip). I asked if they could offer a refund and was told no, that the best they could do was remove it for free - which I basically did myself. I will not return. read more

Went in for an acrylic with tips, expecting to pay $55 (45 for acrylic and 10 for tips according the website) but ended up paying $80 before tip. I called later to ask what the charges were and turns out they charge $45 for acrylic (which included the tips), $15 for a gel polish on top of acrylic, $5 for shaping, and another $15 for a chrome topcoat I got (which I expected an up charge for but 15 is ridiculous). I have never been charged for polish or shaping on any acrylic/dip set before at any place I have been to so I didn't even think to ask or opt out, but I am confused why those charges are there. Am I supposed to just not get the acrylic shaped or polished? If these services are not included then that should be specified before you begin, or at least before they just go ahead and do it. It felt like there were all these hidden charges just to get you to pay more after getting you with the low base price of the acrylic. I understand this is a higher end place but just make the base price of the acrylic higher instead of tricking people into paying more at the end without being prepared. The acrylics themselves turned out very pretty and the staff was very kind, but unfortunately after paying $93 after tip I will not be returning ever again. read more

Very chaotic atmosphere. Photos made it seem high end but in person it clearly is not the case. Worker was very unfriendly, rough and kept twisting my wrist up to check God knows what. He was way too harsh with the e file. He snagged my cuticle and finger multiple times. I asked him to be gentler but he ignored me. The place is very disorganized and dirty, sanitation was not observed. Dirty tools were being pulled out of the drawer and the sandpaper and drill bits were dirty and full of dust. State law states a new sandpaper bit needs to be used per client and the metal drill bits need to be disinfected. He kept his stuff for acrylic nails in a dirty iPhone box. I brought my concerns up to the front desk but all they said were that they were going to talk to him. They didn't care one bit. I will be bringing my concerns to the state board. read more

Worst pedicure I've ever had! Had to wait 15 minutes for guy to show up even though I had appointment. Seemed like the guy had never done a pedicure but when I complained was told he'd been there awhile. Asked what color after I was seated and settled in with feet in water. Didn't ask about water temp. No routine. Used a file that had no grit to it, repeatedly, even though it didn't do anything. Left toenails too long. Spent almost no time with pumice on heels even though they needed it. Put my flipflops on my feet then began to polish. Spilled polish, some got on my flipflops. He removed flipflops and never put them back on. An employee was sleeping in the public room towards back of salon. Towels were old and faded. Chair sunk in at back like it was broken. I called to complain and the manager said she'd give me a full credit and when I got back from my trip they'd redo it. I received a gift certificate for Christmas. I went to the Brookfield location with my daughter to get a Dip Manicure. The lady never introduced herself. Very unfriendly, but I was not worried about that. I just thought it was not a good way to start with a new potential customer. I had this manicure done on Tuesday, and my skin around my nail's hurt and are throbbing. During the night I had to put Neosporin around the skin area. The skin around my nails still hurts today. The technician was very rough and I believe she may have hurt the skin around my nails. She also stuck her fingernails into my skin. Secondly, I believe the tools and nail files and buffers to not be clean. The file and buffer she used on me were not new. I could tell by just looking at them, that they had been used over and over again. This is a good way to get a fungus, or something else. For a place that advertises how high end and great it is, I was not impressed and do not plan on coming back. I hope I don't get an infection from the pain I am experiencing. After the manicure, the lady pointed and said go wash hands, which I had no idea where to go and then she just took off, never to be seen again. No 'have a nice day' or nothing. Terrible customer service. My daughter's technician Chino was friendly and did a nice job. As a matter of fact he showed me where to wash my hand's. FYI to new customers - The manager mentioned they require customers to wash hands prior to the appointment. This is FALSE. I personally was never walked to the back where the sink was and never saw another client walked back to the sink prior to an appointment. I only saw them do this at the end to wash off excess glitter or dip powder from the hands. Those jars are contaminated, with each client dipping their fingers in them and not knowing when they last washed their hands. It's so gross. Any cuts that may be on their fingers or skin conditions are also getting into those jars of dip. The tech I went to would poor dip into another container but since other techs didn't do that, I knew that the powder was pretty much already contaminated. I stopped doing dip the more I learned about how unsafe it is. The employees here are so rushed they don't take the time to do the services correctly. I know I left the salon on more than one occasion with botched nails, and one time had to have an emergency procedure done because my feet were infected from how badly they cut up my nails and cuticles and literally ripped out pieces of my nail bed. It didn't matter how many times I asked this man to stop, he just kept going. I went from being a regular after I found a particular tech I was happy with to completely finding a new salon. After how poorly my last few services were, it just wasn't worth the potential health issues that could occur by continuing to be at this salon. I don't want a sloppy, rushed manicure or pedicure. That's when mistakes happen and that's when clients are at risk to be injured. I ended up finding a new salon with employees that left AV and learned quite a bit about the culture here and how management runs it.
