Dropped off 2 dresses and 3 pairs of pants . All were brand new and still had the tags on them. We were originally quoted $95 for shortening. When we picked up the work was done well but they said we owed an additional $54. We were a little puzzled and not exactly happy about the additional payment and felt they should have called us about the additional fees. The kicker was when we got home and I was hanging up the clothes I got a distinct whiff of cigarette smoke in the new clothes. I smelled it when I entered the shop but thought it was because of the tobacco shop next door. Now I know it was definitely this shop. Now I have to pay to have them dry cleaned and they have never been worn. Also they only accept cash because I'm sure they are stuffing it in their pockets and not claiming on their taxes. I called the shop immediately when I came home and told them and all I got was denials. "Is not true." She said. As a former smoker I know what it smells like. read more

The ladies here did an absolutely FANTASTIC job for me! I had a decently quick timeframe and they accommodated it with no issue! All of my pieces look really great, but I had to mention a special one. I've lost about 100lbs and I had 1 dress I couldn't bring myself to get rid of. I brought it in to see what they said and Nataliia didn't even hesitate. It had to be taken in probably 3 inches on each side, so essentially remaking the dress. I was a little nervous to see how it turned out, but it is beyond perfect! Fits like an absolute glove and such high quality work! Just went in to have my wedding dress possibly altered. I tried it on for them and they immediately told me that "the dress is not for me", "it is too small" and it's "impossible". I went here about 6 months ago for military uniforms. They did an awesome job and I know military stitching is different than suits. This is where my sisters and my Mom took their dresses for alterations for my wedding this past April. The ladies working here were so nice, and they really knew their stuff. They asked questions as to how each wanted it to fit, look and move as they pinned the hemline. Their customers were all very nice as well, and we struck up conversations with all of them. It was like being in a room full of friends, and yet we had all just met. The dresses were ready fast. We could have had them done that day if we had gotten there earlier, as it was an hour and a half to close. They advertise as doing alterations and tailoring for men, women, children and dogs. Personally, I think the idea of dog clothing tailoring is adorable! I highly recommend this tailor shop, as they are courteous, knowledgeable and their work is superb. read more

I usually get all my tailoring done at Nordstrom because they are fast, convenient, and you get some free alterations if you have a card or buy said item from them. I thought I'd branch out and try something different so I came here based on the reviews+check-in offer. I got a suit jacket the stomach let out across the waist for a wedding and a suit that was a little snug let out to be a little less snug (packed on a few pounds over the years). The tailor shop is quite small, like most tailoring operations, and they are fairly quick with getting things measured. The jacket I got let out still didn't fit right...it's quite old and there may have not been enough material. Had I gone to Nordstrom, I know they would have given it to me straight if it was going to work or not. I ended up just borrowing a friend's jacket for the wedding I'm in who happened to have the exact one in the size I needed. I should have just done that in the first place but I thought I might be able to save my old jacket.... The other suit I got fitted, both pants and jacket, turned out alright. It was worth it for the 10% off w/a Yelp check-in. I feel like I wasted my money on the other jacket but that might be partially my fault. I would come back if I only needed a simple hem but probably not for more complicated things or something that I need opinion/guidance on. read more

After moving out to West County, I had yet to find a new tailor. I found this place thanks to Yelp reviews and decided to give it a try. I had purchased a winter coat on clearance that I "had to have", even though it was a size too small (probably no thanks to all the food reviews!). The main issues were: 1) Needed the side seams let out a bit so I could button the coat 2) Needed half of the sleeve seams let out so my upper arms weren't so tight None of these things are major changes for any tailor as long as there is some seam allowance, but I am always nervous when dealing with a new tailor and working on a relatively pricey item. Thankfully, the jacket came out perfect and it's ready to go for winter! The ladies at the shop are extremely polite, and I will def be back with other items. FYI - pricing is reasonable and depends on material and stitching. A basic hem will only set you back $9. read more

Took my daughter's prom dress here to get it hemmed. Nordstroms wanted $48 and two weeks to hem it; these ladies did it in a week for $36! Ladies were friendly, the hem looked great, and it was ready when promised. Can't ask for more than that. I will definitely use them again if I need something altered. Note: my GPS told me this place was on the other side of the street and a half mile East of the actual location. It's actually in a strip mall with China of Bombay and several other businesses so look for it! read more

This is the third or fourth tailor I've used since moving to the area a couple of years ago. Based on my three experiences with them, I doubt I will go anywhere else anytime soon. My alteration needs are pretty simple - I'm not an "off the rack" size so I get my pants hemmed. They have done about a half-dozen pairs for me at this point and every one has been exactly right when I picked them up. This may well be a four-star place but I'm upgrading them to five based on their check-in offer for Yelpers. I like their prices! I am alright with a one-week turn-around time. Communication on when to pick up after drop off was a bit mixed but I got my garments back before I needed them. Prices depend on what you get. I've used this shop on multiple occasions and always been pleased! This shop is nestled in what might me my favorite plaza in Ballwin. You see, this plaza also has the laundromat and Chinese restaurant I've positively reviewed (Winchester Cleaners and China in Bombay, respectively), and this tailor shop is another great place to go for all your sowing/alteration needs. I've had pants that needed to be hemmed and they did it for a great price, and one time had a bad rip in my jeans that I thought would cost more to fix than would be worthwhile but which they took care of it for just a bit over five dollars! The ladies I have spoken with anytime I come here are very nice, eager to help, and clearly knowledgeable in what they are doing. Should you have the need of a tailor for your clothes I would definitely recommend coming to Anthony Polizzi Tailor Shop. Can't express enough how happy I am with this place. I live over a half hour away, but will still make the trip any time I need something altered. Jeans I get are always too long and they also need to be tapered. Every time I bring my Jeans here, they do a perfect job to get the fit exactly how I asked it to be. Today, I went to the shop to have a suit and a couple pairs of jeans altered. I asked to have the suit back the same day, which they said they could accommodate. When I went to pick it up, they had everything done, even the jeans, which I was not expecting. They let out the Jacket and waste of the suit. Shortened and tapered the suit pants and two pairs of jeans. To me that was a lot of work to have done for a walk-in all on the same day. I paid a little extra for it, but well worth it given I need the suit the next day. Everything came out perfectly. I will continue to drive out of my way to have my clothing altered at this shop. read more

Both times they were attentive and friendly. They get things done quickly and they do an exceptional job with general hemming (which is all I've gotten done). This seems to be a small family owned place but theyve kept up with big business with exceptional service, perfect work and good hospitality. I brought the dress in to Anthony Polizzi Tailor Shop about six weeks before the wedding, the fitting was fast, easy, and completely painless. My comfort in the dress was their top priority. I was originally told the alterations would take three weeks and be about $160. I called three weeks later, the dress was done, and ended up only costing $120! This shop was recommended to me by Just Me Apparel which is a few minutes down Manchester. My daughter's plaid uniform skirts needed to be hemmed and these ladies did wonderful work. The price was reasonable, they were very nice and professional, and there was no waiting, as they take care of their customers right away. I had to go out of town for 2 weeks after I dropped off the skirts. They were kind enough to hold onto it for me until I returned to town. Took a bridesmaid dress to be altered here (it was too small around the ribcage), and the alteration work was beautiful and well done. However, the bridesmaid dress was stained when the dress was returned to me. The stains are very noticeable on the skirt and will show up in pictures. I explained that I was unhappy with the stains as this dress was very expensive and must be worn to a wedding (with lots of pictures!) and they only offered to take off the cost of dry cleaning. read more
