The most upsetting part of this entire experience is that they admittedly IRONED my satin wedding gown, leaving a visible indentation and burn mark. This was a brand-new wedding dress and I trusted them to handle it with the care and expertise it deserved. Unfortunately, that was only the end of a series of problems. At my first appointment, I requested a ballroom bustle and was told they could do it. I also asked about taking the top of my dress in slightly and was assured it would be no problem. When I returned for my second appointment, the dress had been altered dramatically differently from how it was originally pinned. The seams were crooked and misaligned, black thread had been used on the top, and it had been taken in so tightly that I could barely breathe. You could see the corset of the dress underneath, and the gown was extremely wrinkled. I returned multiple times to have these issues corrected. At the third appointment, the dress was still significantly too tight and wrinkled because the seams were not properly aligned. After four appointments, I asked them to simply return the dress to its original seams. When I returned to pick it up, I discovered they had IRONED MY SATIN DRESS, leaving the indentation and burn mark. I was devastated. Throughout this process, I felt repeatedly dismissed and gaslit. When I expressed how upset and anxious I was, I was told that I was likely overreacting because my wedding was the following week. What was dismissed as "wedding stress," however, was anxiety directly caused by the ongoing problems what they had done to my dress. I was also repeatedly asked to show photos of the dress to point out supposed flaws that simply did not exist when I purchased it brand new. What should have been an exciting part of preparing for my wedding became an incredibly stressful and heartbreaking experience. I would not recommend Sadie's to any bride. Please do not trust them with your wedding gown

When we went to the shop on 4/1/2023, we were advised that the dress would be altered from a size 14 to fit my daughter who is a size 6. For whatever reason, the bottom of the dress was not altered to her measurements. When we tried the dress on 4/10/2023, there is a huge gap at the waist that allows a person to see straight down the back of the dress. Her prom was 4/15/2023 so we had to take it to a seamstress in Indianapolis to take the dress in further. There was about 3 inches of dress that had to be removed. We were charged $55 for the services. When i spoke to Shetland, she agreed to a partial refund of $26. In our conversation you cited the lack of time as the reason that you were not able to complete the alterations as we agreed on 4/1. My response was that you should not have accepted the job given the tight timeline if you were not sure that you would be able to do the job as agreed. If you had been open about your reservations with altering the dress, we had an agreement with Art at La Merite dress shop to not purchase the dress. But you said that you could do it so we bought the dress and paid for the alterations. When my sister went to get the $26 dollar's yesterday, Svetlana only gave her $17 and told her to get out of her shop. Incredibly rude, unprofessional, and poor quality work. This was without anyone stepping on the dress, just all the weight on a single button. It stinks to have paid so much for a bustle just to have it unusable and a hole in my dress.

I like to get my jeans tailored and keep the original bottom hem, which she does very well IMO, and unlike other tailors I've never had to explain what I mean when I ask for this. One time, I was working late and called her back a bit after her operating hours. She was already on her way home and, even though I told her I could stop in the next day, she came back to get me my dress/work clothes! I believe she did this because I was in the parking lot of her store. Point is, she is a very sweet lady who clearly takes pride in her work and will work with you on whatever you need.
