I will always hunt for good ole fried food that reminds me of home. We ordered around 7:45 and they told us it would be about a 25 minute wait. All that means to me is that it's made fresh and I love that. I ordered the fried catfish and shrimp with fries. We were eating this before going into a bar 8 minutes away and it was still hot when we arrived to our destination. The battering was crisp and I know it was hand battered the way I eat them in Houston. They were well seasoned and so were the fries! I feel like some fish fry joints abandon the fries to in terms of seasoning, making you rely on condiments but these are great on their own. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is connected to the gas station and is made to be taken elsewhere, no seating there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I haven't stopped thinking of this place and can't wait until I can be there again.

The fried chicken was crispy, juicy and well seasoned. So delicious!!!!'

So happy to see this place open again! They use to be down the street at another gas station and we were so sad when it burned down. The chicken wings are as delicious as we remembered them. The catfish is exceptional! The onion rings are also very good. Everything is seasoned really well and their sauces are delicious. The portions are generous!

I agree with the previous review, this area may seem a bit sketch. Especially since this eatery is located at the rear of a gas station/convenience store. Put your head on swivel and just go grab a bite. The menu prices are very decent and the food is pretty good. * Do not attempt to walk into this restaurant, you'll be standing behind the cashier's desk. Just read the menu next to the door and order at the window, they'll walk it out to you when it's ready. I had the catfish 2 piece from the lunch menu. My coworker had the 6 piece chicken and gyro plate (he's greedy-lol). Both of us were pretty satisfied. I would highly suggest using a bit more cornmeal with the flour coating (it's the Louisiana in me). I must say the seasoning was still on point. A sincere thank you to Nasir for being so kind, sweet guy.

Heard about this new spot from another source & wanted to try it out. I'll admit; be aware pulling up that it's a walkup window & it's on the backside of a gas station with A LOT of sketchy activity-and we went in the daytime... With that being said, the food was better than expected. Everything was fresh & my lady sd that the corn fritters were the best she's ever had!!! Forgot to take a pic of my Catfish but it was good too. We'll return whenever we want that type of food-and also during daylight!

Pretty good burger but the fries can be seasoned a little more and evenly but otherwise pretty good

Anthony's is the best! I love the food, service, and prices. It's in a sketchy gas station but it's worth it! I promise

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Arrived about 30 mins before close. The gas station area was well lit, so I wasn't too worried about the people pulling in and out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ordered the 6 piece leg and thighs. It took about 7-10 minutes, but it was hot and fresh as advertised. The skin was crispy and it was well seasoned without going over the top with it. I'd recommend this place for the chicken, but I haven't tried the seafood.

My boss and I went on a Monday evening and although we were seated pretty quickly, the service and food really fell flat. Service was just really spotty and we had to constantly grab someone's attention to be attended to even if it was to place a drink order or get more water for our table. We started off with their pretzel and a dozen raw oysters before our main entrees. The oysters were quite tasty but the pretzel which I recalled being served hot and airy was literally cold and stale. We asked the server if by any chance their style of serving this dish had changed which to our intuition it was not. They were quick to fire up a new one and brought it out to the table. The difference was superb and was a true testament to this dish. As a side dish for the table we went for the mac and cheese and the dish was done so poorly we were at a loss for words. Although there were two adults enjoying this, this dish could've easily been a choking hazard for a child. With the crab cheese (macaroni and cheese with gulf crab) there were plenty of little bones in it. So much so we had to take conscious small bites and word around it. With the service being spotty it wasn't even worth trying to flag someone down again. I'll definitely keep patronizing the other location but perhaps the Pearl Brewery location has lost its luster for me.

The menu is exciting and the concept is definitely there--but unfortunately, my dining experience didn't quite live up to it. I ordered the pecan-crusted trout, which had a nice texture but lacked flavor and seasoning. The dirty rice was also underwhelming, with very little depth or seasoning, and the calamari was a bit rubbery. Overall, the food just didn't hit the mark for me. Service was also a bit inconsistent. During dinner, I found myself having to get up to grab my own salt and pepper, as well as my own place setting, which took away from the experience. That said, I did have a much better interaction the day before when my wife and I stopped by for a glass of champagne at the bar--the bartender was lovely and welcoming. On a positive note, the location is beautiful--right along the River Walk, which makes for a great ambiance and setting. I'd consider giving it another try, but hoping for more consistency in both food and service next time.

R&R is part of a hotel and since the weather was really nice, we decide to sit on the outdoor patio facing the river walk. They have a happy hour menu that runs from 3-6 pm and includes beer, wine and liquor specials and 8 small plate food options. I start off with a margarita on the rocks. When it comes out, the drink is good but could've used a bit more lime in the mix but not bad. For food, I go with the fried shrimp and catfish nuggets. When they come out, the plates are larger than expected and both come with fries. This could easily be shared with two or three people. Everything was friend to perfection, crispy on the outside, moist on the inside and seasoned well. The plates were wiped clean. I ordered a house pinot noir and it was a good. I didn't catch the brand name but would order it again. Overall, this was a great first experience at Roam & Range and will look forward to coming back to try more of the menu. Due to it's location, parking can be tricky so prep ahead.

The food, atmosphere, and service were exceptional, which is exactly why we chose to come back. I work long hours, and we finally had the opportunity to enjoy a date night together. We were looking forward to spending quality time with each other over what we remembered to be an amazing meal. We were greeted by a lovely hostess who was warm, professional, and welcoming. She seated us promptly, and unfortunately, that's where our experience completely fell apart. We were seated in the middle of the dining room in a restaurant that wasn't particularly busy. We were clearly visible, yet no one ever came to greet us. At first, we gave everyone the benefit of the doubt. We assumed they might be getting organized or perhaps a shift change was happening. We patiently waited, confident that our server would be with us shortly. While we waited, another couple was seated after us. Within minutes, they had been greeted, had drinks on the table, and their server was attentive from the start. We continued waiting. I made eye contact with multiple servers, yet not a single one acknowledged us--not even with a simple "We'll be right with you." Three more tables were seated after us, and each was greeted and taken care of before anyone ever spoke to us. The table beside us, a group of four ladies, was seated and immediately welcomed by their server. We honestly thought, "Surely he's coming to us next." Instead, he walked away without so much as acknowledging we existed. After sitting there for an extended period without a single interaction from anyone on the service team, we quietly stood up and walked out. Even then, no one stopped us or asked if everything was okay. Before leaving, we asked to speak with the manager because our intention wasn't to complain--it was to make someone aware of what had happened so it could be addressed. Unfortunately, that interaction was just as disappointing. The manager offered to cover our meal, but by that point, it wasn't about free food. It was about being completely overlooked and made to feel invisible. The conversation felt more like an attempt to make the situation disappear than a genuine effort to understand what had gone wrong. I watched the manager warmly engage with other guests, smiling and making conversation, but with us there was no eye contact, no empathy, and no real acknowledgment of how embarrassing the situation had been. It left us feeling as though the message was simply, "Here's free food--let's move on." To this day, I have no idea why we were ignored. The restaurant wasn't overwhelmed. Maybe there was a breakdown in communication. Maybe another reason entirely. I don't want to speculate. What I do know is that no guest should ever be left sitting long enough to watch multiple tables arrive, be served, and settle into their meals without even receiving a greeting. As someone who serves as a Director in luxury hospitality, I understand that mistakes happen. Restaurants and hotels get busy, communication breaks down, and no operation is perfect. But what defines great hospitality isn't the absence of mistakes--it's how they're recognized and recovered. A sincere acknowledgment, a genuine apology, and making guests feel seen can completely change an experience. Sadly, that's not what happened here. We left feeling embarrassed, forgotten, and incredibly disappointed because we know just how exceptional Mon Chou Chou can be. I truly hope this experience is addressed, because no guest should ever have to make the walk out of a restaurant wondering why they were never even welcomed.
