The A-Team trio of Gerry, Wess, and Donnie loaded up a 1740 square foot (overflowing) house and moved all the huge items 15 miles (Carlsbad to Oceanside) in two trips on a single day. They were very polite the entire job. Worked together as a team like you'd hope for. Not a single negative thing was said - they were totally professional. They even did appliance detachments and re-hookups. The price was very reasonable - stated from the onset - with no surprises. ...... A few days later, I had some hefty junk to haul away to the dump. Sean and his colleagues helped us out tremendously when my senior parents needed to move out of their apartment on short notice. We did most of the packing, they did the moving and loading into the Pod and made sure everything was evenly distributed for when the Pod gets moved into storage. This was the worst moving experience ever. I had used this company before for a short move and had an okay experience. Then I decided to use them again. I had the worst experience ever. They took several hours longer than they had quoted me. The crew kept slowing down "because they didn't want to have to do another move" albeit at my expense. Then they shattered a hallway light, broke dishes, ruined a leather couch, ripped a large hole in our adjustable frame fabric, badly dented a brand new barbecue grill. The owner asked how much all of the stuff "weighed" apparently for insurance purposes then told me that I was wrong and lying even though I looked it all up from the manufacturer website. If you are worried at all about your move and belongings I'd stay as far away from this mover as possible. Otherwise you'll be moving anything valuable straight to the dump. read more

I scheduled the move, requesting two men for two hours. I scheduled my move with either Shan or John. He confirmed his men will be at the location to move me and my household goods today, Tuesday. I contacted him this morning. He claimed he never got a confirmation from me. He said he sent me an invoice which I never received. I asked him where he sent it to and what email it was sent from. He said it was sent to my email. He wouldn't answer what email it was sent from. I contacted him via text again asking him if he was able to schedule his men to move me today. Not a professional organization that does not provide what they advertise and offer online, or verbally. Owner threw Moving Labor website that provides him leads and business under the bus, stating not to do anything through the website and go direct through him. Then, cuts corners by refusing to supply wrap of any kind at all on site that was confirmed would be there and available during the move, leaving us to go out and buy another second roll of wrap as zero was provided. Childlike reply with laughing emogi when Anthill deceptive information is provided on Yelp so other customers are not taken advantage of. Professional moving companies actually provide what they advertise without going through such lengths to save themselves $12 expense leaving customers with damaged belongings. All while keep telling you to tip employees because he underpays them for their work. No thanks, never again! read more

Do not use this company! Despite scheduling our truck loading for an out-of-state move with AntHill 4 weeks in advance (with $99 deposit) and confirming with AntHill 5 days before the move that a crew would arrive between 9 - 10am on Sunday Jan 23 to load our 20 ft. UHaul, the crew did not show up. Just after 10am we began calling and texting AntHill, there was no response until 12pm - 2 hours after after they were scheduled to arrive. AntHill apologized that they "thought the move was scheduled for Monday", despite the fact that we just reconfirmed our Sunday move 5 days earlier. We let Anthill know we were panicking because we were two retired ladies with an empty truck and a very long drive ahead of us and had expected to be on the road by 11:30am to arrive at our hotel in Arizona before dark. AntHill said they would try to pull a crew together for us. In the meantime, we called several truck loading companies for urgent last minute help, still hoping AntHill would send a crew right over. Anthill called about 20 minutes later to say they were still working on getting a crew together, then never called back to further advise us. In the end, after several panicked calls to multiple truck loading companies we hired the most reasonable available crew we could find - Central Moving Company - which did an efficient and careful job of loading our things. We got on the road after 4pm and ended up driving the UHaul for many hours through CA and AZ in the dark of night. Unfortunately, because of the urgent situation AntHill placed us in by no-showing, our 1.5 hour move cost a couple hundred dollars more than if AntHill had performed the job as promised, because the one available loading company required a 3 hour minimum to load the truck. Today we called AntHill to request our $99 deposit back - incredibly AntHill did not automatically refund our deposit after they no-showed. We also asked AntHill to reimburse us for the extra money we had to spend due to their negligence. Anthill's response was unempathetic, defensive and inadequate, including expressing no remorse for their mistakes and the terribly stressful situation they put us in. Even worse, AntHill suggested we should have hired a different loading company that was less expensive, which was impossible given the urgent circumstances. In the end Anthill offered "$40 or $50 reimbursement", which considering our $200 extra expense and the stress and hassle they put us through is insufficient. We are planning to contact the owner of Anthill on Monday, and will update this review following the conversation. read more

Run don't walk from this mover. I can't begin to tell you how awful my experience has been with Shawn and the random guys he hires. These movers are undependable and don't care about your items. I just unpacked from my move and so many items are broken or ruined. I found fragile things were thrown into boxes without ANY wrapping at all. I hired them to move items a few times locally to and from storage/one local move and every time they were very late or didn't show up at all. That's my bad for rehiring them but Shawn promised me every time it wouldn't happen again. This last time I was moving across the country and they didn't even show up the entire first day. That gave us only one day to pack up my entire house and it was awful. One of his guys gave up the last 1+ hours and went out and sat out on the curb. They were trying to leave before my job was even done. I am now traumatized after seeing how they packed my things and don't want anyone else to experience this. They need to get some integrity or just stop doing business. read more

I used this company a couple of times, but the last experience was SO disappointing. The movers were scheduled in the middle of a very hot day so they moved very slow. I asked for three movers, got two which made things progress even slower. After moving in, I notice many of my furniture pieces have huge chunks taken out of the wood, not one but three. I will not be able to fix this as these are unique furniture pieces with no piece to fix back on. I would never recommend this moving company to anyone. read more

We need to have a very heavy item moved upstairs, I had contacted a few others & never got a return call. When I called Ant Hill they were very helpful and set up a time for the move. I had informed them that the item would most likely require 4 men to move it because of the bulk & stairs. We decided the minimum charge for two hours would be $289.00. When the movers came there were only two men and the item was moved. The owner told me that if he need two more men they were close by but wanted to see if just the 2 of them could move it. They did and the cost was $189.00 not $289.00. It is great to see honest and helpful professionals. We will use them again and definitely refer them. read more

The team loaded our "Cube" with expert precision and worked feverishly for 2 hours (which got the job done). I used anthill yesterday to move everything from my house into a storage unit. It was a big project and we were very pleased with the service. They were able to get large furniture down our tight stairwell carefully, as well as safely get our great grandparents antique piano out of the house and loaded safely into storage. As the day got later and we noticed the project was bigger than we anticipated, anthill was able to send more employees to help with the final load in order to get the job done on schedule. Sean of Anthill Moving sent Sky and Tey (not sure on spelling of either!) to our home to unload our 26' Penske truck that we drove from Idaho to California. It was pretty full and not really loaded well by the Idaho loaders. They unloaded that beast in short order, were very courteous and took great care with our belongings.
