To start, Tamara knocked it out of the park with her initial menu proposal. After just 1 conversation with us, she *got us*; I remember reading her proposal and immediately feeling excited, knowing the food would be incredible! When the big day came we were thrilled; all of our food were things folks are generally familiar with, but *elevated*, customized, and so obviously made by a top tier chef. So hors d'oeuvres like shrimp on a skewer - but Thai and with pineapple; fruit salad - with figs and peaches! For dinner, ravioli - but in browned butter; chicken parm - with a little heat; and filet mignon *to die for*! Desserts - a fruit tart, but apricot, and the best macarons you've ever had. We had so many more things, and literally EVERYTHING was a much better version of what you might normally expect, so some familiarity for guests, but again, BETTER. Our guests were very happy and very impressed! As the bride waiting to make my big entrance, I also got to watch her and her staff work in our kitchen and it was amazing. Tamara is SO friendly and sweet but also is ON her game. Her staff was also incredible - attentive, friendly, and professional; they made our drinks perfectly, kept checking on us to make sure we tried everything, and were amazing all around. Almost every one of our wedding guests came over to tell us how amazing it was. We have a fridge full of leftovers now and I'm drooling at the thought. What I especially loved was how Kenny was willing to let us mix and match and play around with the menu. We ended up having a hot dog bar for the kids, shwarma for the adults, and a more cultured soup service. His catering staff are amazing, especially his Captain Lupe.

Frungillio's as a whole, and our event coordinator Ed, were disorganized, not prompt to answer e-mails leading up to our event and dishonest. Our first red flag was after signing our contract, we received an e-mail (not even the courtesy of giving us a phone call) saying they double booked our original date, despite having already signed our contract. We were so in love with the venue, we chalked it up to a miscommunication--no big deal. Unfortunately, instances like this became regular throughout our planning process. Many promises were made and fell short on our wedding day. We worked with Ed throughout our planning process. On most occasions, it took at least a week to get a response back and most of the time, my husband had to text, call and e-mail several times to prompt a response. The morning of the wedding I received a text message from Ed saying he would not be able to attend our wedding due to an emergency. We had been working with him for over a year and while I understand circumstances arise, I believe a phone call is the LEAST he could do to break the news--most brides would freak out! Ed and Frungillio's promised to essentially be my "go-to" on the day of the wedding, but again they fell short. Decor was not organized as promised. Details that were promised in our final meeting were not executed. Staff had to be told as guests were arriving to finish setting up the cocktail hour. Ed failed to communicate with my vendors. Staff was nowhere to be found minutes before the wedding. I (the bride!!) had to put my bridal party in the processional order because no one was there to do it for me. We didn't even know where to put the overflow of garbage from the bridal suite. One of the two bathrooms broke half way through the wedding and there was no assistance for our guests other than a "out of order" sign on the door. The next day our family went to pick up our decor with the understanding that our items would be in a corner of the tent area as there was another wedding the next day. When our family arrived, our items were sprawled all over the mansion, not in the original boxes or packaging. Items were missing. Extra, unopened candy from our candy bar were stolen (over $500 worth). The groom for the wedding the following day was in a sheer panic because no one who worked for Frungillo's could be found and the mansion was a complete disaster. Following the wedding, I reached out to the owner of Frungillo's and Ed to ask for a meeting to discuss our disappointment. While the original e-mail was acknowledged, the message with our concerns did not receive a response, along with the several phone calls made and additional e-mails. We were blatantly ignored. They received our money and did not care about our dissatisfaction, nor did they try to explain themselves. On top of stealing our decor and favors, my husband and I didn't even receive the top of our wedding cake as a keepsake for our one year anniversary. By no means did Frungillo's ruin my wedding day. Our wedding day was perfect because of the people and love that surrounded the room, not because of their poor attention to detail. If I can give any future bride advice, do not book with Oakeside Mansion or Frungillo's simply because they will not give you the attention you deserve, especially with the money you are paying. It's not worth the stress on YOUR beautiful day.

I had the wonderful pleasure of having her cater our reception at Housing Works Bookstore. Fair warning - this will not be a review per se, but a love letter to Zoe and her works of umami art! First of all, do yourself a favor - book a tasting with Zoe immediately (as in yesterday). My (newly wedded) husband and I were speechless at our tasting; the only words we could say were "oh my god this is good" every time we sampled something. If you book a tasting now you'll save yourself a ton of time searching for a caterer because it'll be quickly apparent that you will not find anyone better. Anyways... so typically a bride does not want to be upstaged at her wedding, but let me tell you, the food was the star and I was NOT mad about it. I think almost every one of our 135 attendees came up to us to tell us that the food was amazing and hands down "the best food [they] have ever had at a wedding in [their] lives." This was coming from people who are absolutely not chicken and rice people -- but from people who live and eat in major cities all over the world with sophisticated palates and are VERY VERY critical about their food. I heard nothing but good things (trust me I would have heard about it if they had any criticism). Additionally, Zoe's plating is divine, the service of her staff is impeccable and I don't have a single point of need for development feedback. If we wanted a mix of flavors (like black sesame and green tea tarts for dessert), Zoe can accommodate that. A cajillion different allergies? Zoe can handle it. Have no idea what you want? Zoe will gently guide you towards particular choices that fit your menu and guest needs. I told you, this is a love letter, not a review. However, I think my absolute favorite part about Zoe is that she is humble, kind and treats her staff with the utmost respect. She is a lovely person who loves her craft and the craft loves her back.
