My partner and I spent many a happy afternoon cozied up in Another Round on rainy days, and absolutely love this place. It has spacious tables of varying sizes, so you come as a duo or as a larger group, there are a ton of games on offer that range from shorter game plays to much longer campaigns, the staff are kind, the prices are fair, and the drinks are phenomenal. They also offer both coffee and alcohol, depending on what time of day it is / what you're in the mood for. Also, their smokey orange latte with black sea salt is one of the best coffee drinks I've ever had. This is the perfect place to kill anywhere from 1-4 hours, whether you're looking for something to do on a lazy afternoon or waiting for a reservation at a nearby restaurant. We've since moved out of Portland, but will definitely be returning the next time we visit. read more

Our family is in Maine, from Long Island NY for a vacation and I this was my must see spot. I'm so glad we came, though we unfortunately didn't get to stay long, our visit was amazing. I ordered an oat milk mocha and my husband had a black iced tea, we shared a cookie and a convo while our toddler napped (when the planets align ever so nicely!). Hubby said tea was refreshing and given more time would have had a second. My mocha was smooth, rich and very delicious! The staff was patient and friendly with our group of 8. We fawned over the games, not having enough time to play but chatting about what games were on our wishlist and which we were interested in if we could make it back before heading home to NY. Environment- the overall vibe was so chill and cozy. Loved the peg board style shelving, seating was abundant and varied. We liked the couch corner we sat at. And I cannot say enough good things about the bathroom situation! Absolutely loving the inclusive bathrooms, hoping to see this become the standard! I was really excited to try this place but it didn't live up to my expectations. I'll start with the Pros: Lots of tables to sit and play games. Variety of games to choose from. Fun vibe. Cons: The drink I asked for they didn't have but it was on the menu. The drink I got was just okay. The service wasn't very friendly. They charge a fee per hour to sit there and play games which is fine but they didn't tell us that when we sat down. We stopped in while wandering around Portland for my partner to get a coffee. The staff was super friendly when we walked in and had some interesting options for lattes and coffees. My partner said it was a high-quality oat milk latte. It was a smaller place, but they had good and comfortable seating options and more games than you could play in a year. I wasn't familiar with a majority of their game titles, but could tell there was a variety of classics, cult favorites, easy ones, involved ones, and some rare finds. In the heart of congress this spacious spot has an unlimited amount of board games of all varieties. We could spend hours here. Staff is super friendly and helpful and will help you find any game you desire! The drinks are also great! Got the pumpkin espresso martini which was delicious. Could not be happier with Another Round. The staff are beyond helpful and welcoming. Harry has the rules for many of the games more or less memorized and is happy to help teach you to play if it's a game you have never played before. They have tons of drink options, including non-alcoholic. They have a nitro earl grey with yuzu that is made in house and is PHENOMENAL. Another round is clean, peaceful and fun. Tonight we stumbled across Another Round: the cutest coffee shop meets board games establishment as we were walking along Congress Avenue. Harry, the owner, was very welcoming and personable. The decor was very unique. There was a huge collection of games: well loved old favorites and ones we had never heard of. Ambience was great: such a happy, relaxed vibe. They have a good selection of hot and cold beverages that includes adult beverages. This would be a great gathering place for friends or families. Both myself and my 12yr old son agreed that it was a 5 star experience. My son even asked Harry if he would consider opening up a franchise in Texas!
