In full disclosure I love breakfast. I could eat it all day every day. Growing up in the south I love to try "southern" breakfast spots. ABEC sounded like it would be right up my alley. Decor: I don't know how southern it is but I did enjoyed the decor. It has a soft modern touch while pulling in the industrial feel from the lighting and small touches. My husband hated the chairs that we sat on outside. They were very slippery and the curve of the back forced you to either lean forward on the table or crush your stomach.I felt like Winnie the Pooh with my stomach sticking out. I did enjoy the muted color pallet and the warmth from the dark woods. There are a few things I would tweak: placement of the bar, the color of all the metal, and the darkness of the uniforms. Overall I would give it a 7/10. Food: The food was terrible. We started with the biscuits "beignets". On behalf of the state of Louisiana, please change the name to fried biscuits.calling those things beignets is disrespectful on a new level. Beignets are supposed to be light and fluffy. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. What we ate was dense, hard, and the powdered sugar seemed to collect all the oil and melt onto the biscuit. They were a total fail. We ordered the chicken and waffles and egg scramble. Both were complete misses. I sent my chicken and waffles back. If you look in the photo you can see that my waffle was soggy, was missing the chipotle honey sauce and cold. The chicken was over cooked, dry, and cold. I honestly would have sucked it up had I not seen the table next to us get the exact same order but it looked cooked to perfection. I was told they were out of honey chipotle sauce and then I saw the gentleman next to me have it all over his waffle. The egg scramble was also over cooked. The shrimp and eggs were severely over cooked. It was the driest I've seen eggs look in a long time. Our server did take the chicken and waffles off our tab without any issue. Service: for reasons unbeknownst to me, there is always a wait to get a table and the restaurant seemed to be at max capacity. Needless to say, we didn't get much interaction with our server. He did not deliver our food or refill our drinks so I think we only saw him to take our orders, deliver drinks and hand us the check. Due to our experience with the food we didn't get to interact with him much but from what I could see the other severs seemed fairly nice and attentive. Overall I would never return to ABEC nor would I recommend it. While our experience would absolutely horrendous, I did observe other tables having issues with their orders as well. It may be that they have a few kinks to work out before they are ready for me to spend another dime at their establishment. Since there are at least 4 other places to eat breakfast on the very same street in less than a 5 minute drive I'll stick to those. read more

Steven is our favorite here. He's so polite, friendly, professional even when he's slammed. We are both in the industry and we understand how crazy diners can be when they are hangry. We appreciate him!!! Food is always great. read more

3.5, I'm a stickler for rating. Also, I need to go back to try more. I'll get negatives out of the way first... some slow service (granted the place was packed). Getting our checks, and then cashing out took forever! I heard from other people I sat with that the pancakes were a bit bland. On the other hand, friendly staff for the most part. Helpful front of house members that weren't our servers helped me on multiple occasions. I had the quinoa bowl with fruits. The side of coconut milk was a great touch! Another member had smoked salmon Benedict. It looked good- had capers and onions. The potato sides were nice with a slight crisp and didn't ooze out oil which was amazing. Add some lime/salt/pepper to the potatoes and you're set! read more

Not bad, but my preference for breakfast are the little local Ma & Pa diners. Just not a fan of the corporate chain places. With that said, my breakfast was good. Service was likewise good. As for ambiance I found it to be noisy. Not the buzz of a lively breakfast joint full of conversation, but an annoying echoey sound that detracted from our enjoyment of our meal. read more

I always love coming here! The food is always high quality, and the service is fantastic. The lines are typically long to wait, and there is definitely a reason for it! You will not be disappointed coming here! read more

Was in the area for yet another RunDisney event and since we flew in really late at night we decided to stay near the airport and then travel onwards to the Disney resort area afterwards. This location came up as similar to another breakfast joint and had eggs and french toast. I ended up with the southwest scrambler and i believe the boy got a different omlet. They were both very good and what we expected but I the guac from the southwest scrambler as well as the salsa felt to me a little lacking. The avocado had oxidized leaving it a green/brown color and the paucity of the serving was a bit apparent as they gave it to me in a condiment cup. The salsa was a glorified tomato sauce? i didnt feel it was at all spicy and ended up with some chaula hot sauce to go with. I did upcharge and got the fruit on the side and I was pleasantly surprised that it did not come with melon (which i hate) but rather i got pineapple strawberries and some grapes which I immediately devoured. The boy also got a serving of french toast and this too was good but also pretty unremarkable. The cold brew could have used less ice and while good, I felt it was a bit on the lighter side. So not a lot of coffee flavor but otherwise this was also good. We would definitely come back if in the area. read more

The food was great although service was slow. Probably from being understaffed but at least the staff that were working were friendly

Ambiance was cool, food was actually better than I expected and the plates were big! Service was also great as we were a party of 8. They sat us quickly! read more

Delicious! Great selection the biscuits are amazing! Everything is wonderful Can't wait to go back !

Visiting my mom for her 75th birthday and wanted a nice breakfast. She's having some medical issues, so since we had picked out this place as a "must try" and they were also on Uber Eats, we decided to order in instead of waiting in line. Well, that was a mistake. The two cold brew coffees I ordered never even made it onto the ticket attached to the bag, and of course were never delivered. My combo was supposed to be bourbon street pancakes, sausage, and sunny side up eggs. Instead I got the pancakes (sauce was amazing but the five slices of banana were brown and icky), bacon, and "scrambled" eggs. (See photo--half liquid, half over cooked.) so, I paid $15 bucks for pancakes and a thing of yummy sauce. Super disappointed in a meal we were looking forward to all weekend. Never again. read more

Oh my a restaurant that has people who care about the customer AND had great food. The menu is unique and offers one a different approach to the traditional fare. Ordered the Salmon Scramble and found it a pleasant break from Grits and Eggs. Check out the brunch and if inclined a libation. Do give this great restaurant a try please. read more

We were looking for a spot to grab something before a flight out. This place had good reviews, so we said OK, let's try it. Greeted warmly. Sat comfortably. They asked if it was our first time there, and it was, we'd never been to one of these before. They brought beignets, which I had only had once before, they were similar, much too heavy for me. My traveling companion said they were much heavier than ones she had had before. The beignets were given at no charge for being first timers, nice touch. I ordered the lobster benedict and my companion the Blackstone, she got grits, I got the potatoes. The potatoes leave a LOT to be desired, but no matter, because the benedict I ordered comes on a ham and cheese hashbrown croquette. I requested a change of hollandaise, because I do not "peppers' - I got the mushroom hollandaise- it was delicious. The eggs were cooked just right, the, croquette was also very good, but, sadly, the "lobster" was not. It was lobster flavored Krab, and it turned me off so much, I couldn't eat it thereafter. For people that have no qualms about Krab- I think they'd love this. I had a mimosa, simple regular sparking wine and oj, it was nice and the strawberry in it was SO good. My companion said the grits were very good and she liked everything. It would be 5 stars, if not for the Krab. I absolutely recommend this place though. read more

This is the second ABEC location we visited on our trip to Florida. We visited the siesta key location too. The staff here was outstanding and food was very good tasting. This location is very convenient to the airport and the airport hotels. The layout is wide open and has very welcoming decor throughout. The menu is classic breakfast with speciality selections unique to ABEC. This is must go if you are looking for a good breakfast or brunch for a great price. Well done. read more

The food was awful. I ordered the salmon bagel the poached egg was cold /running before I cut into it. The presentation was terrible It looke like "cold snot on a bagel".My wife ordered crab cake egg Benedict she said it was super bland my son ate all his food however ,It was the worst most expensive breakfast ever! Our server was not attentive at all. She Appeared to be avoiding us after we would ask for needed items like napkins. We waited 25 mins after asking for the check. We watched her continue to take new orders. I asked for a side plate she handed be the plate that she was carrying the syrup on!!! I wouldn't go back here on my hungriest day !!! Which sucks because the environment was cool and the decor was on so cute. read more

For the price of the food I was hoping the portion sizes would be larger. The food wasn't worth the price... the flavor wasn't good and just mid compared to other breakfast places. Along with the bad food, customer service wasn't good at all. Our waiter wasn't around and when she took our order she was very bland. I understand being busy and having a not so good day but I think it was more of her personality than anything. The place was super busy and took forever to even get on the waitlist. Not worth the time or money. read more

My husband and I wet to this restaurant this morning for the first time. The place is very noisy and the hostesses seem frazzled. There appeared to be several empty tables but no one cleaning them. From what we could see the hostesses have to clean the tables. Once the one booth we could see from where we were was cleaned, it still sat empty for at least 5 minutes. My husband complained and wanted to leave but I insisted on staying. They finally sat us on the other side where the tables are. There we several empty tables. Not sure what the problem was as they appeared to have plenty of waitstaff available. Once we sat down we couldn't even carry on a conversation since it is so noisy. It is an industrial type of building with exposed A/C ducts so it amplifies the sound. There was one kid in there screaming repeatedly. Once the family left it was still very loud but not ear shattering. I give this place 4 stars because the server was pretty good and the food was excellent. My advice is hirer some busing staff and let the hostesses concentrate on seating people. read more

Heard a lot of rave reviews about brunch so we decided to give it try.... Loved loved loved the biscuit beignets! That made us very happy Everything else kind of went downhill after that. We had the lobster and Brie omelette and huevos rancheros and we weren't impressed with either. The omelette had way too much cheese and sauce and it was just too much period. The huevos rancheros were "okay" but nothing to rave about plus the tortillas were cooked too hard. The mimosas were also okay. We were disappointed especially since we drove 50 miles to experience it. Maybe we would try again... and just order simple read more

Went to the n this morning. No one to greet at the door. I went to the bar side where a employee approached me and asked if f I needed something. I said I am here to eat breakfast. Breakfast came and it looked amazing. Food was good. Only complaint is I should not have to wait at the door and no one is there. Then be asked why I am here after I try to find a seat. I have been coming to Another Broken Egg for years! I originally used to visit the Winter Park location, but I was so happy to see that one opened closer to home. I have been to this location a total of 3 times, and 2 times the food has been awful. Not sure why I keep coming back, I guess just giving it the benefit of the doubt to live up to the winter park location. The first time I came, the omelet I ordered was cold and tasteless, I thought it may have been because we visited the restaurant very early in the morning, and the chef may have still been waking up. The second time I came, the experience was positive. Similar to what I was used to with the company, tasty food, good atmosphere, overall a nice experience. Yesterday, we visited with a group of 5 people, 2 of which was their first time. The waiter was pleasant, but one person received the wrong order, which is okay, that can happen to anyone. I would say beware, as the waiter sells add on sides without letting you know about the $4.59 up charge. There is an up charge for any side other than plain grits or potatoes, and he definitely pushes that. Again- although shady, it's totally understandable, I get that the higher the check, the more money you take home in tips. The part that was incredibly disappointing 4 of the 5 of us ordered an omelet and 1 ordered the hashbrown Benedict. Within the drive from the restaurant back home, he began violently puking and purging the food that he had ate. He threw up for 5 hours straight, without being able to keep even a sip of water down. After contacting the doctor, it was determined that it was without a doubt FOOD POISONING. After an incredibly painful day dealing with the illness, we called the restaurant in the morning to let them know what had happened. With an extremely busy restaurant cross contamination can easily happen if you are not extremely careful. Upon calling and speaking with the Manager, Brian, we were even more disappointed. He said that many people ordered this dish and nobody else has called to complain so there's no way he got sick from there. How ridiculous? Why doubt a customer, if we got sick, we're doing the common courtesy of letting you know. Not even going into the call with the expectation for him to do anything to make it right, but just to help save another customer from having to go through this. He said that food poisoning wouldn't have happened that quickly. It takes a simple google search to see that it completey untrue. Food poisoning can start to make you sick within 30 minutes of consuming bad food. Not sure when he became more qualified on this than a doctor, but it was incredibly insulting. At the end, it seemed like he didn't want to deal with it anymore and he said well you can come in and we can replace the meal. Overall, I will likely never return to what used to be my favorite breakfast spot. I loved another broken egg, the menu, the atmosphere, everything. But this experience really turned me off, and Brian was really the nail in the coffin with this one. read more

TL;DR Waited over an hour and ten minutes to be told that they lost my order and never saw it to begin with. At 10:19am, we placed our order. We have email confirmation that said when it would be ready - 10:46am - and spoke with multiple servers that said "I checked and it will be out after the next order". They confirmed they had it. Then it became "we sent it out 10-15 minutes ago. Someone else must have taken it". Then the manager comes to me and says they can't find it in their system. What? After having it confirmed multiple times, by email and by servers, you don't have my order? And then Bill says to my face that while they could replace the order it would take to long to put together. What? B.S. It was a club sandwich, an eggs benedict, and a BLT. I wasn't asking for the world here. No, Bill. You go back there. Replace the order. And tell your cooks what to prioritize. You prioritze the people who gave you money an hour and a half ago for an order that you and your staff failed to produce. Take responsibility, Bill. Why was there absolutely no offer to prioritize my family? And it should come as no surprise that we were not alone in our interminable wait. At least some of those people who also waited over an hour got food. It's Mother's Day - I get your busy - but how dare you promise service that you know you can't deliver upon. Bill, you could find my order my order to process a refund but you couldn't make us a few sandwiches. This review will never change. Again, how dare you. read more
