Large & small vanilla cone with rainbow sprinkles

Best soft serve ice cream in the area. I get the same thing all the time, see my picture. This takes me back to my teenage years (many many years ago). Delicious!!! It is cash only which is ok, maybe a bit pricey but for me well worth it. I drive 25 minutes to Annie's. A large & small with the sprinkles just under $10 but I give a tip to the young ladies serving me at the window. Enjoy!

Vanilla ice cream sundae with crushed up Oreos, cookie dough and peanut butter sauce... delicious!!

Best soft, serve in the Palmyra Hershey area but remember it's cash only. Make sure you try the raspberry soft serve.

Great ice cream! We loved the birthday cake and coffee crunch, the shake was also great?

Other than their shakes, everything we've had has been great. Excited for them to open again in the spring.

Garbage. We ordered milkshakes and got the thinnest shake in existence. It tasted like flavored water.

The place has a very casual, come-as-you-are bar-and-kitchen vibe, which fits the area well. Nothing felt overly polished or fancy, and that is not a criticism. It seemed like the kind of local spot where people can just show up, relax, and get a solid meal. The problem was the service on this visit. We showed up right around the breakfast-to-lunch transition and thought we had made it in time for breakfast, but apparently not. We got seated pretty quickly, which made it seem like things were moving along, but then we sat there for about 20 minutes with water glasses and no water, and really no meaningful attention at all. By the time someone finally came over with the water, we were already done and decided to head somewhere else down the street. It was also getting fairly loud while we were sitting there, and the staff seemed tired or stretched thin, so I would not be surprised if we caught the place at a bad moment, maybe during a shift change or just an awkward transition between breakfast and lunch. The restaurant was busy, which usually says something good, and the food we saw going to other tables looked pretty solid. That is why I landed on 3 out of 5. This was not a bad experience in the usual sense. It was more of a non-experience. We never got far enough to judge the food, and I do not think it would be fair to hammer the place over one oddly timed visit. But sitting that long without even getting water was enough for us to leave.

The portions here are no joke and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. We also had a slice of peanut butter pie made by Lisa, and her desserts are always amazing. If you see one of her desserts on the menu, it's worth saving room. Breakfast is honestly my favorite meals to get at Funk's. I've also been for brunch before and that's great too. They have a big menu, lots of beers on tap, and some really good specialty cocktails. The only thing to note is that when it gets really busy it can feel a little congested and noisy, but overall the atmosphere is comfortable and has a really good vibe. I can't remember our server's name, but he was super friendly, personable, and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, Funk's is a great local spot and definitely one of my go to places for breakfast in the area.

Funck's has been a family favorite restaurant for my entire life, with gatherings and small meals…read moreover the years. In recent years it's been updated and modernized, but the front dining area still feels the same. The back area that used to be the banquet hall is now a bar and casual dining area. Funck's got into craft beer and has a great tap list, ranging from national favorites to a lot of local and regional craft. Their food menu is varied with something for everyone. Prices are reasonable for the area and a night out. I've been many times but recently came for a family meal that was on bingo night. We all had meals, tried some craft beer, and played bingo. Our server was new but tried her best and we had a great experience. My only slight disappointment was a lot of the beers I wanted to try were out, with nothing to replace them. I ate an autumn salad with Brussels sprouts and loved it; other family had fish, soup, and cake. All the food was a hit. If you're looking for a family dining experience with quality food and ingredients, plus a good beer selection, this is a great option in Palmyra.

I craved some comfort food before the long ride home and I remembered The Hershey Pantry from my college days at PSU, which now feels like 138 years ago. We stopped in and had the most delightful, sweet waitress: Piper. The food was just what we wanted: filling and familiar. Hubs had a chicken caprese sammie and I had a reuben with turkey. Both hit the spot. I saw a coconut cake slice go by for another table and had to order one immediately to go. OMG - GET THE COCONUT CAKE. I had it as a late night snacky and it was tender with the right amount of coconut, and frosting that was light like an angel's wings. My only regret is that we live 3.5 hours away and can't come back anytime soon.
