Nothing really bad to say about my experience here. Just, it wasn't the best I've ever had. I've been spoiled by a salon in FL where it was quiet and serene. No cell phones, no loud conversations, relaxing piano music playing, and scenes of serene places around the world on the flat screen TV. At Annie's, the front door was open, and I could hear the electronic voice of the pedestrian crossing guide on the corner throughout my gel manicure, which was well done, but I'm glad I hadn't booked a pedicure also. I'm going to try another salon that's closer to my home. I may go back to Annie's, but it's not my #1 choice. Sorry. read more

Where to even begin? The rudeness? The abrasive treatment? The confusion and breakdown in communication regarding an appointment? The rude pushiness to hurry up and find a color? Or should we just go right to the incident where I brought friends, hoping for a nice relaxing time with the girls, and instead one of my friends is now BARELY able to walk on her infected, swollen super painful toe because the owner cut into her nail bed so badly she was BLEEDING into the foot tub water? Walked into Annie's this morning and asked if they could get me in for a mani pedi, and was in a chair in less than a minute. The person working on my feet and hands was really thorough and did a fantastic job. The shop was a little grimy, not not necessarily dirty - just an older building that's seen a lot of foot traffic. All of the stations were clean and I liked the products they used. No complaints at all! Will definitely be coming back. read more

I recently went to Annie's to get a regular polish manicure. Over the past 4 months I have taught myself how to paint my nails but with salons opening again I figured I would treat myself. My appointment was scheduled for 12 but I wasn't seated until 12:30. For me this isn't such a big deal because I wasn't in a rush. The man that painted my nails rushed through the entire manicure. The paint job was sloppy and when I asked if he could fix some of it he simply painted over them.... after he had already put top coat on. The reason I am giving one star is because I could have painted my nails 10x neater and for free!! Will not be going back. read more

Don't go here! I made a pedicure appointment with Michelle and when I arrived, Michelle decided she didn't want to do my pedicure. No explanation as to why. Then I was given Annie, the owner. Annie cut two my toes so badly that one was bleeding. When I complained, she said it was normal and refused to apologize. One of the two toes ended up infected - I am currently soaking it in epsom salt and using topical antibiotic but the doctor is monitoring and thinks I'll likely have to go get it srained and go on antibiotics from it - she basically ripped off part of my nail, exposed the nail bed and allowed it to get infected. And she refused to even agree that something was wrong during this!! Avoid this place. read more

I went there today @ 9 AM with my daughter for a refill and pedicure, so they sit down and get my supposed refill, but Annie decided to take all my nails off without asking me then decided to tell me when she was done my "refill" that I would have to go back later for my pedicure!! ON top of all that Annie and the owner started yelling at each other in their language so I don't know what they were saying, but I had gotten the worse end out of it because as Annie was screaming at the owner she was hurting me by pushing my hands around like a rag doll!! Who does this to a customer?? Every time I go in there my bill is at least $170.00 to $200.00 for my daughter and I!! As I'm trekking Annie that this is not fair to me the owner and her husband are just sitting there saying NOTHING!!! I had to leave after my refill and go to another nail salon to get a pedicure with my daughter!!! First time. usually go to salons in philadelphia. Had gel mani. It looks ok. Except one nail chipped first day. Owner and staff nice. However, I'm used to much neater and cleaner shops. Everything on the work table, sink and surrounds covered with dust as if they never wipe anything down. They remove old polish with rotary drill. Salons I go to clean the bottle screw top threads, brush and polish bottle every time with acetone. These bottles had layers of old dried polish and drips all over. Asked for fingerless gloves for gel mani UV light protection. They don't have any . prob wont go back. PLACE NEEDS A DEEP CLEAN AND MUCH MORE SANITARY TECHNIQUES. read more

I went with my two friends this past weekend for mani/pedis and we called ahead and made appointments a few hours in advance. However when we arrived, we were told that two of us would have to come back the next day. Eventually they sat us down and the owner wound up cutting my friend's toenail so badly that she woke up in terrible pain last night and is now infected! My manicurist was doing my nails on a towel that had someone else's nail clippings on it! Then when she was done with my nails, she just aired out the towel, dropping the nail clippings onto the floor. Yuck! We couldn't get out of there fast enough! read more

This place has gone downhill! I used to come here faithfully about 5 years ago and they did an amazing job! I was in the area so I decided to stop for a manicure for me and pedicures for my 8 and 5 year olds. The reason I get manicures and pedicures is to relax and my manicure was extremely rushed! It took about 10 minutes. They are not busy at all the place was empty so there was no excuse for the rush. My cuticles were not all taken off she barely pushed them back the polish is over my cuticles and looks awful. I asked for my nails to be files square and they are all wonky. My favorite part is the hand massage they usually do when they apply lotion. I didn't get one I got lotion slapped on my hands quickly. Best nail salon in South Jersey! It is cheaper than most nail salon. Mani and pedi is only $25 compared to others that charge 20 for pedi and 10 for mani. The owner is warm and makes you feel at home. They really clean nails and the service is superb. I guess what sets it apart from other nail salon is that they don't rush regardless of how busy it is.. Im willing to wait an additional 15 mins and it is worth it. read more

i went to Annie Nails with my friend two days ago and we had an interesting visit. The staff there was nice enough, but they just did not do our nails justice. Everything about them was awful from the shape, the color, the design, and the acrylic itself. We both shown them pictures of what we wanted our nails to look like and we did not get that. i tried speaking up on a few occasions but she kept telling to me that it was fine and that i would like it. The nails were also extremely overpriced for such a mediocre job. They did not know what they were doing. My friends nails were $60 and mine were $57, and they did not even last 30 hours. I was okay keeping these nails bc from far away they do not look that bad, but what sent me over the edge was a one of my nails completely popping off my finger after barley having it for a little over a day. which is ridiculous never in my life have i ever had a nail fall off that quick. It really took me by surprised that my $55 dollars nails were not even able to last me two days. I now have to get them done again and spend another $60 dollars somewhere else so i have decent nails for my birthday which is in a week. read more

On Aug. 18, I took my wife to get nail done at Annie's Nails and her finger nail was overly cut and was bleeding very badly so I took her to Hospital to get stitches later we went back to file a police report in order to cover the medical bills but the manager refused to take any responsibility and the girl name Docas was no where to be found at the salon & there were at least 3 other teenage girls I saw working there to do manicure and pedicure and non of which have any cosmetology license 'cause the officer asked for it and all 3 girls ID were showing under 18. I also filed a complaint to the division of consumer affairs, if anyone experience such problem with the salon please contact me. my number is 919-582-465. My advise is STAY AWAY from the little girls there! They don't have any proper training or any license or certificates to do your nails & if there are any problems make sure u get evidence & witness before you leave the place. read more

What a s#%t show this place has become!!!!! It should really get no stars at all!!! Where to start... It used to be a fairly decent place. A switch in ownership this summer had it go downhill and record speed. I don't even know what was worse the former owner getting into a verbal altercation with a client and trying to charge extra to cut someone's cuticles ( thought that was a standard service with any manicure ) or the girls sitting at their tables eating, watching movies on their iPads or on their phones. Not to be confused with them sitting behind the tiki bar and playing poker! Now let's discuss the cleanliness or lack there of! While waiting for my nails to dry there were so many fly's I thought they were going to stick to my wet polish. The tools are not cleaned if you're lucky they will give a quick spray of alcohol. The floor is a mess as is everyone in there. This island deserves better then this!!!! New owner SHAME on you!!!! Board of Health and City of Ventnor a bigger SHAME on you!!! If you are looking for a nice place to get your nails done, sadly it is no longer here. I would find someplace else to go just like many of the good manicurists that used to be there went. I stopped in there wanting to get my acrylic nails taken off and I just wanted to keep my natural nails for a bit to strengthen up. They insisted I needed the dip color and I kept insisting I didn't want that, I want my natural nails. She then said "yeah, you want, you want, you want, actually taunting me. They FINALLY gave up but at that point (Annie) doing my nails got really rough ripping them off with the nippers. I'll said ouch after a particularly painful rip and she called me a "baby" saying it didn't hurt. I'm had it at this point and told her I am extremely insulted and to stop talking to me like that. She then settled down. I will never go back there again. It was the WORST experience ever I had at a nail salon and I've been going to one for 25 years now. Please beware of this place. I took my mother there and got her hands and feet done she loved her feet which is THE ONLY REASON THEY GOT ANY STARS but the hands smh it was awful they started chopping the THE NEXT DAY and I mean big ugly chips and the lady came off as kind of a slickster she kept tacking things on to the the bill she was seamlessly weaving it in regular conversation and stuff my mother thought she was not in her head to was not what she thought it was over ridiculously high but I did it for her and then the next day all that broke out I don't know how to add photos to this post otherwise I would be able to show the pictures of the big ships oh and they didn't get all of the fingernail polish that she had on there when she went in she didn't realize it until afterwards and she got something called jail my apologies but I'm not exactly sure what that is but it's my understanding it's not supposed to be shipping the next day read more

Should be 0 stars!! Worst nails I ever got done in 10 years of my life. Wouldn't recommend anyone going to waste money. Spent $55 plus tip got full set pink gel acrylic with gel polish. Nails were not shaped like I wanted, they were bent in different directions, and broke after 3-4 days. Not just one all of them kept coming off. Called asked for owner or manger and told me that Annie was on vacation and there is no manger but what made me most upset they told me it was normal for nails to break that fast and not last long. I never had this issue ever in my life and had to rip off my nails because they wouldn't replace them. Worst place ever!!!! read more

Annie's used to be a decent place to get your mani/pedi. I've been a customer for probably 15 years. The new owners must insist that the technicians push the dip manicure. All of the sudden the girls are not taking no for an answer (remind you they know me & are familiar with what I get done) sooooo annoying!! I'm there to relax not to spend my entire pedicure telling you that no I don't want the dip! Then I swear that they are now mixing polish colors to be cheap. The matching gel & regular polish are completely different colors now. Colors that I used to get are no longer the same color! Then the place is a cluster f$!@ of design & color. Blue pedicure tubs with red chairs. Also on the stand with all of their creams they use for a spa pedicure they keep an empty Dunkin Donuts cup with a nail brush sitting in it!! Ewwwww! How hard is it to buy a glass to put it in?! They need to get with it & start using the tub liners for pedicures like every other place does. They have slowly started to annoy me but the final straw was that my husband got an infection from his manicure! Not to mention that they used a drill to drill his cuticles off. His nails were rough & uneven. Very sad because the employees that are still there from the former Annie's are all very nice hard workers. Annie should go back to being a hostess handing out tea & candies. I would hate to see the place close or for the employees to be out of work but the new owners should try to make it a nicer cleaner experience. It looks like they found things on Craigslist or on trash day & added them to the salon. An outdoor bar where there used to be pedicure chairs? Why? Very sad to have to find a new salon. read more

I was extremely disappointed with my pedicure. I was the last one in the row to be seated and the first one to be done. It was literally at least 20 min shorter than everyone else. They have a sign that says they use a special cream for your feet and all I got was hand soap on my feet. I'm not even exaggerating. You probably should change your sign to say that you use softsoap. When she rubbed my feet she wasn't paying attention and just rubbed my legs almost the whole time with barely any pressure. She only did the oil on my legs and didn't even wipe it all off when she was done. No lotion. So I left with a crappy short pedicure with oily legs. The paint job looked like an amateur. She didn't even fully take off my nail polish from before! I would never return. I'd rather pay the 55 bucks at a casino spa for it. Nail salons need to train their staff to give consistent service. read more

While they have a great price for a mani/pedi they push Gel polish on every single person that walks through the door. One one occasion they made a girl cry because he told them no gel at least tree times and they kept on her. She had to have her mom step in. A gel manicure significantly increases the price. I was extremely disappointed with my nails. I spend $65 for a pedi and full set with gel. I did mention to the lady that I didn't want my nails to look thick and wide and thick and wide is what I walked out of the salon with. I didn't get my usual leg and hand massage because there where I guess in a rush as always. From the door their pushing gel polish on the customers. Although I didn't get what I asked for and paid for I tip the lady and she looked @ me with a look like is this supposed be for the lady that did your pedi as well. She literally asked me if the tip was for both. I replied is your do whatever it is that pleases you with it. I didn't like the fact the two different people did my nails and didn't get my massage.
