While sitting in her chair I asked whether she'd feel comfortable cutting my long, curly, messy hair and she said absolutely and in fact she could do it now. She did a dry-cut, which she said was the best way to cut curly hair (my previous haircutters always shampooed me first), and I'm telling you, it's one of the best cuts I've every gotten. I had been going to a fancy shmancy salon in Cherry Hill up until now, and Hemani's cut is so much hipper, fuller, and prettier and was only $30 vs the $100 I was accustomed to paying (not to mention the hour-plus drive to Cherry Hill). I left there bleeding with scabs forming and I had to be in a wedding in four days. they told me it will be fine and it will go away and it did not. I just vowed to never go back there again. unfortunately, a family member not knowing my feelings about this business gave me a gift card for Christmas. In looking at all the services I've had with this business I actually cringed in going back. but I figured at least I could do the ear candling which I had done before unscathed. I booked the appointment online and called to confirm it was booked and 4 days before my appointment they sent me a text that that service is no longer available. Not even a courtesy call. I guess they don't inform their Receptionist when a service is discontinued. Since the thought of having any other service done there made me anxious, I asked for a refund. They said no problem. Few days later I received another text saying that they had refunded my money. When I inquired as to where they refunded it too since it was a gift card, they said oh we don't refund gift cards. I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau just to put them on notice. These people have no business sense whatsoever. They are a small local business who is risking their reputation for $100. I have also filed a complaint with Consumer Affairs. This is not a way to run a business.
