I finally got a job in NYC, so I had to move to Jersey City. Being new to the area, I didn't have any idea of the movers in the Philly area. After doing some checking on yelp and google reviews, I came across Albo moving. Their reviews were really good, and they were close to my parent's house where I was living at the time. I reached out via cell and Alex responded the same day asking for more info. I texted it all to him. The next day he emailed me a quote and laid out all the info. The pricing was very fair, and based on his quick response time and great reviews, I decided to hire them. I am very glad that I did. My move went extremely well. I hired 2 movers and a 20-foot truck. Eugene and Serg were great. They clearly communicated their arrival time and kept me updated via text. There were 2 pick up locations - my storage unit and my parent's house. They had everything from storage wrapped and packed into the truck in 2 hours. Then we went to my parents for a few more things, we were out of there in under an hour. They drove to Jersey City and then had the entire truck unpacked and moved in and all the packing material cleaned up in 3 hours. It was an extremely hot day and the guys worked really hard and very quickly. I could not be more grateful to Alex and his team for the excellent job, and I would definitely hire them again for my next move. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for hard working, honest, reliable and dependable movers

With my first move in 2020, there was a bit of a scheduling issue, causing the movers to arrive later than originally scheduled and with a van rather than a truck (I had been told that it would be a truck in order to fit all of my belongings into one trip). Therefore, it ended up taking two trips. However, the owner made things right by only charging me the original rate for one trip. Mistakes happen and I'm fine with it, as long as the company owns up to it and makes it right. And there were no similar issues with my second move in 2026. The guys had furniture wrap and blankets to protect my belongings. During both moves, I did not find anything that was damaged at all. What more can you ask for!? I highly recommend Man With a Van! In fact, I'm likely going to use them again soon to help with some items that I will need to move into storage.

The dispatcher Paul needs anger management lessons…read more My friend recently moved across town and ordered Man With A Van movers as they had good experiences with the company in the past. Man With A Van gave my friend two quotes: a cheaper quote for Two Guys with a Van and a more expensive quote for Three Guys with a Truck. My friend sent the more expensive rate for Three Guys with a Truck. But then this dispatcher tried the blame game of "You didn't specify Truck" when to our surprise only Two Guys and a Van showed up. Lemme ask you a question. If I offer you a hotdog for $3 and a burger for $4, and you hand me 4 dollars, wouldn't anyone with a working brainstem assume that meant YOU WANTED THE BURGER? But my friend was sweet and offered: "Maybe y'all can come back tomorrow with three guys and a truck, because it's really a three person job", to which the movers declined. After a quick call, the dispatcher said there'd be no additional charge for extra trips due to the smaller vehicle. What's more is that one of the two Movers had a bad back and couldn't take the stairs like the other dude. So at some points the job is only getting done by one dude (you could argue one-and-a-half dudes). If THREE guys should be able to make the move of loading and unloading in TWO hours, then HALF that much manpower means... you guessed it: it's gonna take at least twice as long! Not to mention they spent extra time stacking things like Jenga inside the van to make it all fit in one trip. Because the job (that my friend agreed to pay $500 for three guys and a truck) took so much longer with one and a half guys and a van, Paul upcharges an extra $300!! Again, my friend is nice, and they're trying to hash this out cause they didn't get what they paid for, regardless of it it took more time. (And again, of course less manpower means more time). But instead of having a conversation with my friend, Paul starts SCREAMING at them, cursing at them, saying "You're Full Of Sh*t!" and threatening legal action immediately! My friend is begging through tears that they want to make this right; begging him to STOP yelling and panicking them. The mover's felt so bad and embarrassed overhearing Paul act like a jack*ss on the phone that one even offered to pay the remainder, but my friend, still shook up and in tears, said that they wanted to make this right and moved what little money they have around to pay as much as they could. We're ALL struggling out here, and the movers def deserve to get paid. I'm sure the dude with the hurt back needs more money and easier hours, but the company is working him to the bone. But to have this dude Paul berate and coerce my friend, spitting venom over the phone? Shouting until my friend is begging in tears for him to stop? I'm never gonna forget that. And this company needs to make things right. The job took long because of Dispatch's mistakes. They sent 1.5 guys to do a 3 man job, without the agreed upon equipment no less. If you want a stress-free experience: steer clear. If you want some jerk from New York taking out his daddy issues on you: you've come to the right place.

*SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM*…read more I never write reviews but I feel the need to protect my neighbors from this scam artist. I moved across the country (drove 33 hours) and schedule sunshine to show up at my new house and unload a 26foot Penske truck. I made a $100 deposit and confirmed with them 3 times to ensure they would show up when scheduled. They day of the move in at 8am, they don't show. I call/text for an hour and no one answered. I have my wife call (from a different number) and the scumbag answers. Now he starts communicating then he has no idea where his guys are and they aren't answering. He won't answer the phone anymore and hardly responds to texts. So here I am, with a truck full of stuff and 2 kids under 2 and I can't even put the crib together. If they were going to be late I can deal with that, stuff happens. When you are late and don't respond and leave a family of 4 completely hanging you are a lousy businessman that doesn't deserve anyone hard earned money. I guarantee he will keep my $100 too. And moving is the last thing you're likely to hear anyone say when talking about favorite things to do. AND, you can only ask your friends so many times to help you schlep your stuff from one place to the next and pay them with beer and pizza. That's where professional movers come in and if you're lucky enough to find the right movers, they are worth every penny and then some. Enter Karson's Movers. BACKGROUND: I coordinated moving my grandmother-in-law's belongings from PA to NC. Due to the distance, we needed movers who were willing and able to provide a FULL SERVICE move including packing, transporting, and unpacking. I obtained 3 quotes and Karson's came it the lowest. Now, with movers, the least expensive isn't always the best, but after talking with Karson on the phone, I just had a feeling that he was going to take good care of us. So, considering this and all the positive YELP reviews, I took the plunge and chose Karson's with fingers crossed and bated breath. COMMUNICATION: Karson made the entire process easy, from the initial contact and estimate to communicating all the relevant details of the move. The estimate was clear, and when I had a questions, he addressed them promptly and clearly. The estimate was "non-binding" which in moving parlance means "not fixed." That is, the final amount can change based on unplanned or unforeseen circumstances. This is where sketchy movers can stick you by tacking on exorbitant extra fees when you're most vulnerable...i.e. when YOUR stuff is in THEIR truck. Karson's estimate, however, was extremely close to what we ended up paying with no surprise or unexpected charges. Furthermore, while I don't make a regular practice of interstate moving, the price we paid seemed more than reasonable for the high quality of service we received. THE MOVE: (Disclaimer: Since I'm in NC, I was NOT in PA to meet with the movers when they arrived to pack grandma's belongings. I was only on the receiving end in NC. However, I'm told by the folks who met with them in PA that they were great to work with.) The truck arrived in NC well within the time window Karson estimated. Our situation was unique in that 3 stops were required to unload all the belongings. All items were packed in the truck in reverse order making it very easy and efficient to unload everything at the respective destinations. All this occurred without a hitch. THE PACKING: Karson's deployed two men to conduct the move who took great care in packing all of grandma's belongings. While mostly consisting of large furniture pieces, most of the furniture was antique, with some pieces well over 100 years old. Each piece was meticulously wrapped in blankets and plastic wrap. Any furniture that had to be disassembled was reassembled upon arrival by the movers. There were also many pieces of small and valuable china, and each piece -- this bears repeating -- EACH PIECE, no matter the size, was individually wrapped in packing paper and packed like a giant puzzle in boxes. Not one piece broke. All arrived in pristine condition. They may have gone a little overboard on the amount of paper used, but better this than broken china! CONCLUSION: Karson's did right by us. They instilled confidence that there are reputable and honest movers out there. I cannot recommend them highly enough for any kind of move you need, be it local or interstate.
