I wanted to share a really great experience with Millennium Moving. This is the 3rd time we used them and they did not let is down. They helped us move 2 days ago. They showed up on time and worked efficiently packing up things for us and then moving them to our place. They also picked up items that were in storage and got it all into our place in good time. Nothing broken or damaged. Everything was very well packed and handled carefully. No scratches, dents or scrapes in our home either. We hired Millenium to move our household from Havertown to Ft Washington. We met with the owner, Tony, to estimate the job and felt very comfortable that we would be in capable hands. He offered a lot of advice and tips to help make our move as smooth as possible. Our move, which was from a five bedroom house, involved 2 trucks and a team of 8 men and they were fantastic! Recently used Millennium Moving to relocate furniture from an Assisted Living residence to a Memory Care Unit at a local Nursing Home. I have now used Millennium Moving for the fourth time in the last 3 years. I contacted Matt at about 11:00 AM on the day of the move and shared my need to have my Mother's apartment moved ASAP. I expressed concerns that we were unable to pack the furniture/closets due to the need to expedite the move of my Mother to a new residence. Matt was more than willing to assist and clearly expressed his awareness of the need to pack and unpack my Mother's furnishings, clothing, small appliances, etc. The Millennium Moving crew arrived before 2:00 PM and completed the effort in less than 2 hours. I can't over express my thanks to Matt and his crew for making this move seamless for my Mother, the other residents, and the Nursing Home staff. Ahhhhh, moving. Is there ever a more stressful, cluttered, clusterf*ck time period than that before a move? There are boxes everywhere, you can't remember where you put that vase that your Aunt Phyllis gave you that now suddenly is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING to locate as a result of your stressed out state of mind. If you are like me, you might tear up, yell at a box (that doesn't work by the way, the damn thing just sits there and mocks you), and basically stress to no end. Then on the actual moving day, oh forget it. It's total chaos and you realize who your real friends are. You also realize that you are kind of a user, because two months ago you wouldn't have even thought to call your buddy to go hang out and grab dinner, but now that you've remembered he has a truck, he has suddenly become your #1 on speed dial and why in the hell won't he call me back?!?! Well, I am here to tell you that no friendship is worth testing over a move and no piece of furniture is worth throwing your back out over, so I say call these guys to come and help you. Help (HA) they do everything and all you have to do is point! I used them in Feb '05 when I moved from the 4th floor of a building with a death trap for an elevator and a staircase that didn't have one even step on it. My place also had a long hallway that was near impossible to get big things around and these gentleman were able to get every last piece out with not even a scratch! They were funny, kind, friendly, helpful, suggested options and never once did I get the feeling I was getting ripped off. (How often does that happen) Oh and to top it all off, it was pouring rain the day I moved and everything was kept safe and dry. Within 3 hours, they had completely moved me out of my tricky pad and into my humble abode and I am forever grateful. They even included an extra stop to deliver my then boyfriends couch...and trust me, this was the biggest couch ever and they still handled it with ease. End of the day, with tip, box rentals and a mattress cover it came out to under $850. And I had aloooottttt of stuff. So try them if you need a great mover! I loved them and would use them again in a heartbeat! Oh and PS: Go to Starbucks or something before hand and get the boys some coffee and some nibblies. It's not gonna cost you a whole lot, but it makes all the difference. I was blown away to hear that many people don't do that or offer them anything. Wow! They made moving day easy Matt, Dave and Jordan were awesome! They were pleasant and friendly and handled my furniture with care. There was little accident, a glass piece from my tv stand fell and broke. They felt terrible about the accident, but accidents happen and they just took a $100 off my bill. After two months of packing boxes, labeling them as to what room they belonged in and what they contained, five men arrived at our home on Saturday before Easter to pack up the house. Two men returned on Monday to finish the job. We left Philadelphia, PA to move to North Carolina. As the two men began to unpack, we realized that the original five men emptied our LABELED BOXES into their own boxes and RELABELED them, " BASEMENT & GARAGE". It will take us quite some time to set up our new home due to the INCOMPETENCE of this company. Some of our leather chairs were scratched and we will not know what else has been destroyed for quite some time as unpacking will be tedious. I have been using Millenium for 14 years. I recommend them to at least 10 clients per year (I am a realtor ). And I have used them personally for 4 moves. I have never heard a complaint. I see some of the same guys year after year. This tells me the owner treats his employees right. They are hard working. they do not stop when they get to the job. They follow the OSHA rules and regs on the # of guys, etc and some consumers may not understand that, but they are awsome!! read more

Has to be the WORST experience I have ever had moving. Tony quoted us one price and then jacked it up at the end. While the employees were professional, Tony was a downright bully giving us orders on what to do instead of listening to the customer as to what we needed and wanted. We were charged full price for used boxes that we were told would be free of charge. Also charged for excess hours than were worked. I've never heard of a company that refused to complete the work because it was after 3pm. Beware! Unless you enjoy being ripped off and over charged. We were quoted one price and then Tony changed it and charged us almost $200 an hour. He said he was giving us moving materials at no charge, yet the $208 charge on my bill says different. He is abrasive, spoke to me horribly, overcharged us, moved items we told them not to move. We told them we were unable to start before 11am, and he showed up at 9:30am and didn't listen to a word we said. We paid over $2000 for a move that should never have cost that much. His men stopped working just at 4pm. They refused to unload our stuff at our storage unit until the next day. Demanded that we meet them there at 8am. Then started calling at 7:30am to see where we were. Giving them even one star is too generous. We had 2 storage units, one I wanted just for clothing and one for furniture. They paid zero attention to my directions and just put stuff wherever. Tony then told me to go get a 3rd unit and was annoyed when I said No! My husband had already said no prior to me. I'm not one to be pushed around, and Tony certainly wasn't going to do it. He was rude, abrasive, obnoxious, and a poor business owner. I will never, ever recommend them. If their name comes up, I will warn that person and remind them of my horrific experience. Giving him one star is too generous. He claims that his men worked on a holiday, Christmas Eve Day, but they were done by 9:30am. Unlike my husband who actually had to work at his job until 5:30pm. Last time I checked Christmas Eve Day isn't really a holiday. Christmas Eve is a holiday. He told us that the packing materials he gave us were brand new, when in fact, they were written all over and definitely not new. He lies, deceives and then changes the story around to best suit him. Once again BEWARE, unless you enjoy being ripped off and over charged! After everything my family has been through, this was a hard pill to swallow! Amanda B. got lucky - and unfortunately the Yelp reviews led me to choose Millenium. My experience was VERY UNHAPPY. They were late, slow, they wrapped everything at a ridiculous level (driving up the $$$$), and socked me with a price that was nearly three times the estimate they gave over the phone. Total bait and switch. First, they arrived an hour late, despite multiple phone calls and assurances that they would be on time. (When I called to complain that they were 20 minutes late, I could hear them asking in the background if there was even an order for the move). When they arrived, they moved slowly (since you are paying by the hour) and boxed or wrapped everything with multiple layers of padding to drive up costs (e.g., they boxed pillows and cushions so that they could charge me for the boxes). The "best" part is when they delivered the items (less than a mile away) and informed me I had to pay in full or they would not unload the truck. Then they hit me with the bill. THREE TIMES THE ESTIMATE! They charged us for things they promised over the phone they would not charge us for and then refused to compromise unless we paid in full (holding everything for ransom until your produce a check or credit card). DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! THEY ARE CROOKS!!! I was quoted $96 hourly for 2 movers, but they showed up with 4 movers saying they needed to hurry my job and get to another. The owner showed up and lied to me stating the rate would be the same and then charged me $160 per hour. In addition to that, they dropped one side of my white soda on the ground and got it dirty. My parents used millennium for a move from their 3rd story walk up apartment to a second flor apartment. The day before the move, my father had a heart attack and we all spent the entire day at the hospital. Needless to say, we were a super disorganized and very distracted when they arrived. We had 3 movers and they were all so wonderful. So courteous, helpful and went above and beyond to make the move easy. They put everything exactly where it needed to go in the new apartment and it only took them a little over 3 hours. I seriously can't say enough how much stress they took off of my family. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU CARE ABOUT THE THINGS YOU'RE MOVING... I hired this company to move my antique 1903 upright piano 5 doors down on a row of townhomes. We had a thorough phone discussion, I disclosed that it was an incredibly heavy instrument, and last time it moved, we had 3 guys on it and it was almost an impossible move. I was assured that at least 3 employees would be in on the move, and that it would be out my back slider, taken 5 doors down across the rear common ground (of my association, not the neighbor's yards), and in a back door. I felt good when I hung up, The gentleman I spoke with was nice enough (Tony--I think he was an owner or manager, unsure), and $150 was an outstanding quote against the competition. The scheduled day of the move, TWO people showed up. To move a 2,000 lb piano. Tony, whom I spoke with on the phone, and his sidekick, both I would guess were 50+. Yeah. To move a One Ton PLUS piano... It rained the night before. Instead of rescheduling if conditions didn't suit, they went ahead with the move and made a game day decision to change the moving plan, around the front of my block (down the paved sidewalk). Okay, I deferred to their professional judgement. But then they took it through a neighbor's yard and into the marshiest area of the block adjacent to a drainage swale. And when their dolly casters got stuck in the mud (because casters get stuck in grassy turf. Go figure...) and the owner's buddy tried to free it up, he threw his back out, and was writhing in pain at 8:30am, screaming in my neighbor's back yard. I offered to take him to urgent care, but the owner declined, and said he'd take him. About an hour later, I called the owner and asked him what his ETA was. He said he was sorry about what happened, but "S**t happens," and he was now on a truck with his other crew in GERMANTOWN, unloading. He'd be back with help "In a couple of hours." While my antique piano sat on a dolly, stuck in the turf, with impending rain. THIS WAS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. After I enlisted 4 burly neighborhood men, they labored fiercely to get the piano to it's destination, which they did. MORAL OF THE STORY: Friendliness and outstanding pricing does NOT a piano move. We used millennium for our move from Philadelphia to Charlotte North Carolina. We could not be happier. Tony is amazing and personally visited our home to give us an estimate. Day of the move they were prompt, professional and courteous. They were also great with our eight month old child. They even helped us pack several loose items and warned us that some China that was packed improperly would likely break and they repacked it for us. The entire move took less than 30 hours. Here's a sampling of the horrible service I received from this company: *Numerous items of my furniture arrived chipped, scratched, marred or broken. *Other furniture items supposedly "safeguarded" by Millennium's "crack" work crew at origin with expensive, additional "protective" packaging also arrived chipped, scratched, marred or broken. *A leather chair ended up cut after a work crew member removed the blanket and tape covering the chair with a knife. *UPS-grade boxes taped with UPS-grade tape on all edges arrived spit, spilling contents. *Services provided at origin - such as the temporary removal of a room door to allow passage for a freezer - were summarily refused at destination. *Millennium's contracted driver jumped curbs at my apartment complex, running over sod and breaking tree branches above. In essence: it was the ugliest of moving experiences. Forget Millennium. read more

Used Mellenium Movers on an out of state move and needles to say would not use them again. They put one of my beds together wrong, ripped my couch, broke several pictures and my bookcase. The movers themselves were very rude they were in such a rush to get back to Pennsylvania they rushed this move and was left with the damages to my property. I payed over $5,000 and it was not well spent. I suggest you use other movers who will take the proper time to do a move the right way. read more

I used Millenium Moving and Storage during a recent move/resettlement. I WOULD NOT use them again. The first time I asked for two movers, but they sent three and I got charged more than I had intended. I was told a different price for my storage than what I actually paid (which was higher). And then, when they moved me into my new place, they sent FOUR people when we had agreed on three. I was charged way more than discussed AGAIN. When moving my furniture back in, pieces were dented, scratched, and not put back to together as discussed (such as my bed frame). I would definitely go else where. They are unprofessional, and they seem not to care about customer satisfaction. read more

I used Millennium Moving Co, located in Oreland, PA for my move and storage before making settlement on another house. When I received my furniture back from storage several tables were scratched and damaged. The moving company sent a refinisher to repair the tables but he wasn't able to remove all the scratches and they don't look the same. I was very unhappy with the way these tables were stored; they weren't covered and they were stacked on top of one another by the movers. That's why they got scratched. I would definitely not use Millennium Movers again or recommend them to anyone. read more

DO NOT USE MILLENIUM MOVING FOR MOVING OR STORAGE! They are awful. We used them to move into temporary housing, to store most of our belongings & then move us to permanent housing. They damaged, lost & used our household items. We had cleaned & emptied all the gasoline from our garage equipment before putting it in storage. The lawn mower & yard vacuum were returned broken & filled with gasoline. The wet vac was filled with dry concrete & dirt. They lost brass fittings for an antique piano & bolts to our bed frames when we only moved 5 miles. Pictures were returned with broken glass & 1 was ruined due to water getting under the glass. A box marked Fragile was delivered crushed and the dishes inside were shattered. We are missing a lamp & several other house hold items. The owner denied any wrongdoings. read more

I used Millenium Moving for a small moving job (Dining room set, huge computer armoire, outside furniture and a few other odds and ends) from my mom's house to my house. Adam and Charles were my movers and they were fine young men who were very careful with my belonghings. They took the time necessary to make sure everything was secured and protected, but they never stopped working and did not waste any time at all. They were very good about making sure they didn't have dirt on their shoes (my mom's carpet it white), and treated my furniture with extreme care. They were very well mannered young men who did an excellent job and never complained as I added items to be moved outside what had originally been agreed to. The move cost exactly what I was told and the prices were very reasonable. I don't know about anyone else this company has working for them, but if you get these 2 you will not be disappointed!!!!! read more

I recently moved with this company and it was the worst moving experience I have encountered and was an absolute nightmare. First, the company tried to change the price from what I was quoted. The movers were extremely slow trying to get more money and refused to move many of my things that other companies have moved with no issues. The movers were argumentative and rude throughout the entire experience. When the owner was called to discuss the issue, he assured me their attitude would change, but it continued throughout the ordeal and I am still finding things that they purposefully scratched and damaged. I have moved fairly frequently over the past couple years and this has been the most unprofessional experience ever. Don't repeat my mistake. read more
