Photo attached, taken on July 4th, the day after. My hair was fried from HOURS in bleach. The color was inconsistent. I ended up crying on the floor of Target to buy bleach just so I could have something that looked close to normal. I had to chop off 6 inches of hair and give myself bangs because of the sheer volume of fried hair. It is several months later and I have spent close to $2500 trying to fix my hair. The ends are still crispy and break off and my hair is barely chin length. Of note, he barely wore a mask the entire time. He also left bleach in my hair while he went into the hallway to argue with a girl who took a photo of him doing hair without a mask. He also commented on my husband who is of Chinese descent something to the effect of "I love Asian men! They are like f*cking a dolphin because they are so smooth!" He also kept sneaking in the back to take shots of vodka so pretty sure he wasn't sober most of the time. These are just the highlights of the experience. Suffice it to say, I will not be going back and I would not recommend this business to anyone I want to remain friends with.

The woman who took care of me was wonderful! She asked what the special occasion was, and I let her know that my partner was pampering me for my birthday. She washed my hair with a lovely scalp massage, and asked if I wanted to add any hair treatments, which I did because hey, it was my birthday. The one she put on my hair made it so soft, and since I don't have a salon appointment scheduled until February, it will hopefully keep my hair fairly healthy until then. I loved how she styled my hair, which gave it tons of body. I actually think it looked even better later on that day, and the next day. The makeup was done by the same person. She was very complimentary about my skin and face. I'm very particular about how my makeup (and hair actually) and done. I thought she went a little overboard on how much makeup she put on, but that's probably just my opinion. In the pictures the makeup looks very well done, which makes sense due to the fact that they are used to doing wedding makeup, and there's a lot of photo taking at weddings. For daily wear, it's just too much makeup. I ended up wiping some off just so I didn't look too made up for going on errands and the like. Overall, it was a great experience. It ended up being quite a bit more money than I originally thought it was going to be, but most of it was worth it. I'd come back to get my hair washed and styled for a special occasion, but I'll most likely skip the makeup application.

I made an appointment for a consult and met the fabulous Rachel. From the moment I chatted with her, I trusted her implicitly. Since that time, I have come to know more about this young, brilliant stylist. She is gracious, effervescent, gentle, and interesting. Yesterday, on his second visit, the lovely receptionist told him that she had ordered decaf specifically because he had asked for it on his first visit. What I love about Ada is that she is okay with silence. If you have gotten highlights before you know these can be long appointments. I love that she doesn't feel like we need to chat the whole time. Ada has worked with me through pregnancy and motherhood and has created a look that I can wear up in a ponytail on a busy day or blown out for an event. I'm sharing my personal experience from an appointment here that unfortunately resulted in…read moresignificant damage to my hair. I had previously gone to this salon about two years earlier for a wash treatment, and that experience was gentle and positive. Because of that, I felt comfortable returning. During this appointment, however, the experience was very different. The stylist poured baking soda directly onto my scalp and scrubbed my hair very aggressively. This was not something that had been done during my previous visit, and it was not explained or discussed with me beforehand. I told her I was uncomfortable with baking soda being poured directly onto my scalp, and she told me it was fine and continued. Afterward, I was placed under the dryer and no one checked on me. After about 20 minutes, my hair felt extremely dry and brittle. My locs were sticking outward and felt stiff, so I removed my head from under the dryer myself. When the stylist began crocheting my locs, the process was extremely tight and painful. I told her multiple times that it was hurting and asked her to loosen or stop, but the tight crocheting continued. After the appointment, I noticed significant breakage as well as visible demarcation in my locs. I had maintained my dreadlocks for about 4.5 years and took great care of them. They contributed to my income as well. Prior to this appointment my hair was soft, full, and healthy. After this service, the condition of my locs was so compromised that I ultimately had to remove them. Since then, I have not been able to successfully loc my hair again. Whether due to the damage, stress, or changes in my hair texture, the experience has had a lasting impact. I have photos documenting the condition of my hair afterward. Losing locs that I had grown and cared for over several years has been extremely upsetting and has deeply affected my confidence and sense of identity. I would not wish this experience on anyone. All statements in this review reflect my personal observations and experience during this appointment. This review reflects my personal experience so others can make informed decisions.
