I regret having seen Dr. Han in 2022. She came recommended by one of my favorite doctors but I wish I'd never have gone in to see her. I went in to have a bump on my left nostril checked out as I had basal carcinoma in past. The doctor was late, and the office disorganized. Dr. Han came in, clearly rushed, and gestured toward my nose. She said, "Is this it?" I replied that I could look at it in a mirror to be sure, and she said she didn't need that - she knew the area to be biopsied and for me to sit back. Dr. Han then biopsied the nearly unnoticeable scar left by a former nose ring - not the lump indicated (which I later had removed without incident in Los Angeles) - worse, she biopsied this very visible area of my nose using an excision method which she incorrectly documented as a shave biopsy. I have pictures. These are not the same things. This excision left a fish-shaped hole which has still not closed properly. I will have this conspicuous and unsightly scar on my face for the rest of my life, and worse it seems to have impacted the structure of the nostril. If she was rushed, she should have just rescheduled me. When I called Dr. Han to ask for help with the scar, she took no responsibility on the call whatsoever. I had to pull up comparison photos of shave biopsy v. excision biopsy before she would even admit she had done the wrong one (which she finally admitted). It felt like having a conference call with a guilty teenager. Friends advised me to sue, and it turns out I'm not a litigious person. I would avoid this practice altogether. There is a very good derm in Mill Valley and I'm happy to share his information instead. Four years later, I still regret this 20 minute visit. read more

Past treatment by Dr. Han was very very good. I have some other issues requiring her expertise but have not been able to locate where she is now working. Website indicates that her office is permanently closed. Spoke to the office staff and they indicated they don't have any forwarding phone number or information to provide. You literally can't get ahold of this practice. They NEVER answer the phone or return calls. I've called every day for weeks. Dr. Han herself was lovely but it's like not having a doctor given you can never schedule an appointment or ask a question. It's the craziest thing. In the spirit of burning man week, on one burning man occasion years ago , i had the great idea of tying my hair in dreads . Little did I know what it would to my hair. As I was losing hair without explanation I booked an appt. With Dr. Han. Fortunately, She was able to assert my situation and determine I wasn't losing hair . But I did learn so much about head and hair, that I was able to put a routine together . (Which includes never doing dreads again) And oh yeah, acne, there is a cream that is simply the best . I don't know why after 10 years of being a patient of Dr. Han that I cannot get a response to my (7) calls and an online request for minor surgery for basal cell diagnosis. She has been always a great doctor to me and now I am left asking "what happened to a Sutter Health system that never returns calls or online requests?" Doctor Anne Han, MD, FASD was recommended by my primary care physician about some precancerous growths. The staff was very professional and patient with my explanation of my concerns. I had worried quite a bit about this new situation that I was dealing with. After my 3-month recheck of my original visit I was very confident that I was being taken care of beyond my expectations. Originally I was quite worried about a situation I was not familiar with. After treatment and a re-examination I was relieved of my concerns. Easy access to the medical offices at CPMC Webster Street. Some street parking available with a short walk. Two parking garages at this location. Easy access with buses. I'm very happy I was referred to this medical professional by my primary care physician. I'm thankful for this level of professionalism by the entire staff. read more

I am older and my previous dermatologist (retired) said I should have a full body examination for concerning growths every year. Dr. Han never looked at my body and seemed very uninterested in my providing for dermatological health. She did do a small cosmetic procedure for me. I was surprised and disappointed. Maybe Dr. Han had a bad day? Maybe too many back to back patients? When you see a doctor that's clearly phoning it in, it's disconcerting and disheartening. The "After Visit Summary" was far afield from what we actually discussed during my brief visit -- it was obviously a generic cut and paste job, not specifically tied to anything from my actual visit. The two women at the front desk were hideous. Zero customer service skills, zero caring, simply awful. The last time I visited Dr. Han, she walked in the door with a smile and asked in a genuinely caring way, "How can I make your visit today amazing?" Dr. Anne Han is empathetic and kind. It's hard to find a dermatologist that really cares about medical concerns and not pushy about trying to sell Botox or other cosmetic treatments. The best part is that she will actually patiently answer my questions. She helps me to pick the best treatment even when there seem like a zillion options. I was happy to know that she trained at Johns Hopkins and stays current with new treatments that work more quickly with fewer side effects. It doesn't hurt that she is easy on the eyes :) read more

My teenage girls saw Dr. Anne for their acne twice so far, and they absolutely like her. She takes time to listen to my kids' concerns, and takes proper actions. Run. Best advice I can give. Find a real doctor that isn't cold and has the time of day for you. This isn't a doctor worth your time or money. She comes across as dry and mean. She won't help you with your problems but rather let you know she's just too busy. Doc I wasn't even with you for 7 min total.... But your just to busy to address my issues in my private appointment I waited over a month for...Wow. Cold hearted. Is something wrong in your life, because you seep misery energy! This doctor left me feeling out in the cold. I recommend finding a more in tune and compassionate doctor. This isn't the one. Went to her to get a couple of bums and blemish on my face checked, she was cold and acted as if I was burden. Asked about removal and she seemed like she didn't want to do it, and told me unless I really wanted it removed, she could do it. The whole visit was less than 15 minutes. I was referred to Dr. Han by my primary doctor for a nodule in the neck. It's a busy office and it took me months to get my first appointment, but once under their care, the staff was friendly and professional, and really attentive. Earl in particular stood out to me, with his calm and friendly demeanor. He followed up on my questions and made sure I was able to get a follow-up appointment when I had questions about my sutures. I agree with other reviews that note her bedside manner and empathy are just waaaay off. I generally like my doctors, but she was both not kind and not helpful. Cold, dismissive, generally aggrieved that I had the audacity to be in her exam room. I saw Dr. Han in February of this year. It took me weeks to get her staff to call me back--I left several voicemails. I then waited weeks for an appointment. At the appointment, I discussed that I was experiencing severe hair loss (like handfuls at a time) and she was very dismissive. She told me what that was called (telogen effluvium), confirmed I didn't have alopecia, and told me that it'd likely resolve, but I might lose a lot of hair first. I don't expect my doctor to control my outcome, but she didn't seem to believe that part of her role was looking for solutions or products that might help make things better. I also told her about another issue, and she prescribed a drug for me that had been taken off the market over a year prior. When I followed up with her via messaging to ask for an alternative, she said there was none, and ended her curt message. I will not be going back to her again. read more

I was honestly pretty satisfied with Dr. Han as my go-to dermatologist, but definitely cannot recommend her if she's going to charge for unnecessary visits. I've been seeing Dr. Han for about a year now for a keloid scar removal. Month after month, I'd go in and get a steroid injection for the scar (with my most recent insurance, the visit would've been in the $200 range). However, during my most recent visit, instead of telling me that the scar was completely gone and there was no need for an injection, Dr. Han injected an active pimple. It wasn't until I brought it up and was super unhappy about the lack of transparency that Dr. Han said it'd be a courtesy visit and then she walked away. Also, Marcelo (the receptionist who handles all of her scheduling) is always super rude and unhelpful on the phone. I also want to echo previous reviews and mention that the billing team takes forever and I constantly get letters in the mail saying that my insurance provider has been trying to contact the office for billing claims. read more

She asked me no questions beyond taking a cursory look at my immediate problem, and seemed very anxious to send me out the door. My son saw Dr. Han for removal of a large birthmark on his ankle. I've talked to other dermatologists and no one has ever suggested that he remove it if it was benign or didn't want to attempt to remove because of the size. He had become self conscious about it as he grew older and did not want to wear shorts or go swimming anymore. Dr. Han was confident that she could remove it and I trusted her completely. My son thought she was great and made him feel really comfortable during the procedure and was very nice to him. We also no longer need to worry in case it ever became cancerous. read more

I've had a history of adult acne and rosacea but never sought treatment until this year. I was referred to Dr. Han by my primary care physician. My initial appointment was professional and successful. Dr. Han diagnosed my skin issues, asked thoughtful questions, and ultimately prescribed medication that she thought would help with the issues while minimizing any side effects. After only a week, my skin was clear and healthy looking. This has persisted since that first appointment in February. Dr. Han was professional, polite, and informed. She listened to my concerns and addressed my particular situation effectively. Her staff was friendly and efficient. COVID-related: The office practices recommended protocols. My temperature was taken and a facecovering provided. Physical distancing was required. And they had plexiglass barriers at the front administration station. All in all, the exerpeince was great. Was referred to Dr. Han by my one medical PCP following my neurology visit at CPMC. I called Dr. Han's office and got lucky with a next-day availability due to a last-minute cancellation. Her nurse Natalie told me I was very lucky since most people would wait 6-7 months for a new patient appointment, and indeed I am. Dr. Han saw me at CPMC Van Ness and proves herself to be a compassionate and more than competent provider. She eased my anxiety about my chronic hyperhidrosis condition and discussed all the potential treatment options with me, and sounded very confident all the time. She even took the extra step to consider the fact that I am a professional pianist so Botox would not be ideal in my case as a treatment option. I left assured with a more than pleasing experience. I've had the pleasure of Dr. Han being my dermatologist for the past year. Being African American it's been difficult to find a dermatologist with the proper experience to facilitate my care. During my first visit Dr. Han immediately addressed my concerns and worked with me to devise a treatment plan. Without going into details I am currently 2/3's done with the treatment and extremely happy with the results. just saw dr han & wanted to give kudos. nice, competent dr, pleasant; extremely nice & efficient staff; great experience all around. clean office space & clinic room, easy to get to. i have a number of skin conditions & she knew right away how to handle them. parking is a Bear in the CPMC Webster area but the cpmc paid lot is right there for ease of parking ($2 every 20 min). had an earlier referral to a dr cheung in stonestown & i couldnt even get someone to answer the phone for an appointment. tried for WEEKS! world of difference with dr han's office: phone pick up right away & quick response. i was so happy with my visit to see Dr Han that i called my PCP right afterward to thank him for the referral. read more

Each of the three times I saw Dr. Han I left my appointment in tears. I don't mind doctors who are direct and who are more focused on efficiency than kindness, but Annie Han was dismissive and condescending about a painful skin issue I was dealing with. During my visits I wanted to understand the root causes of what was happening with my skin so I could correct and prevent the (embarrassing, painful) recurrence -- I had also never been to a dermatologist before and so wanted to understand what the doctor and aide were doing (and why) *before* they just started poking, cutting into, or pressing on my skin. A little communication or empathy from Dr. Han or the office assistants would have gone a long way in establishing trust or understanding -- instead I stopped seeing Dr. Han and found a different (stellar!) dermatologist who is direct-yet-kind, recommended far less painful and invasive treatment, and has always explained the why and how of causes/options (my skin is now healthy and happy). read more

I had a number of skin issues I needed to be addressed and I felt like I had to pull any advice or information out of her. She addressed my first issue and seemed like she wanted to leave as soon as possible. This experience was disappointing considering I waited months and months to be seen in person. My wife went to this alleged doctor (more like a charlatan) off the recommendation of her OB. It was a terrible experience, and while I'm not here to unpack everything around her and her assistant Natalie and their unprofessional and unempathetic behavior that day. What I want to talk about is how she is extremely incompetent and seems to only care about doing cosmetic procedures as you can see by her other reviews. She has no real interest and what seems to be no real knowledge or skill set in diagnosing elementary level skin issues. Not the reason behind my wives appointment but an issue that came up nonetheless, was a bad pedicure my wife had. The technician over scrubbed her feet and must not have properly cleaned her tools because my wives foot broke out with athletes foot. When the "doctor" took all but a second to look at the affected area she quickly dismissed it and said its just dead skin from the bad pedicure. Well here we are a month later and the issue still hasn't resolved itself. I took a photo of it and showed it to my dermatologist at the VA hospital and he said its clearly athletes foot and any 1st year resident would be able to know that. Well not good ol Anne. She only seems to be interested in making a quick buck off injecting people. WARNING: If you are looking for an actual dermatologist to take of your skin issues beyond cosmetic work, than I would look elsewhere, because she is bright as a burnt out lightbulb. EDIT: she had my review removed on the grounds im not a customer. Except I was. I not only was in the room during the appointment, it's through our family insurance that is billed. read more

I recently went back to see Dr Han after a period of time away. Dr Han is the best dermatologist I've ever encountered and would give her more stars if I could. She's incredibly thorough and well-informed on dermatological issues and listens thoughtfully to the patient's concerns before commenting or diagnosing. She's very pleasant and kind and you never feel rushed or that she's trying to get you out in so many minutes. I initially saw Dr Han for a growth on my cheek. She froze it in a couple of visits and the difference is remarkable. You can hardly see it now. She froze off a couple of warts or moles and I was anticipating a lot of pain because that is what I had encountered with previous dermatologists. I was pleasantly surprised at how quick she was and it wasn't that bad. After a brief healing the areas look great. I also saw Dr Han for eczema, which I had developed suddenly in 2019. She tried a couple of different medications and by the third one, found an ointment that finally gave me relief from the horrible itching. It was very expensive and my insurance didn't cover it, but I was willing to pay for it because it was the only thing that worked. She did some research and found a coupon that reduced the cost for me from $260 down to $38. The reason I say that I "went back" is that I left for a while because it was difficult to get through to her office and I think her staff was overworked, but I couldn't find a better dermatologist, so I returned. But I commend them for working during COVID-19. They also have online scheduling now, which is really helpful. I can't say enough good things about Dr Han, and I hope that one of these days Sutter will see their way clear to giving those poor folks in the front office some help. It would be really great if they could come up with some kind of a Concierge system or something, where you have a dedicated scheduler you work with who you could always get hold of. All that to say, it's worth whatever you have to go through to see Dr Han and I'm glad she's younger than me, so hopefully she'll outlast me! read more

I have struggled with the idea of having psoriasis for a while- I think it was that I knew there was no cure and that really bothered me that I would have to keep dealing with this. Meeting Dr Han was a game changer for me: she explained that often with psoriasis you will have to try a few different topical medications in order to see which one works for you and then from there, as long as you apply your medications when you need to, the condition can be maintained and kept under control. We are now at the place where my skin is really clearing up and I feel so happy that I followed Dr Han's treatment plan for me. Game changer! Thank you so much! read more

I was having issues with excess skin and itchiness on my left elbow and behind both of my knees. I had seen my general doctor who prescribed a steroid cream, while it had helped it did not clear up and had been persisting for about a year. So I ended up looking for a doctor and decided set an appointment with Dr. Han because of all the positive reviews. Setting up the appointment was easy and upon my arrival I was promptly checked in and did not have to wait long to see Dr. Han. She was very professional, caring, and prescribed some stronger cream. After following her detailed instructions all the excess skin and itchiness went away. (Hopefully it stays that way!) I had a follow up visit a couple of weeks after the initial visit and was, again, seen promptly. Dr. Han recommended a couple of skin care products that would help with moisturizing and some skin care instructions. Overall I would highly recommend Dr. Han to anyone, as she is professional, kind, and open to questions. read more

It took me over a year before I went to see the dermatologist (yes, typical guy). I had my family doctor treat my skin condition for years and it didn't work so I pretty much gave up. So glad to finally make an appointment and Dr. Han was awesome! She took a look and knew exactly what I had and prescribe medication. Different medication for two separate places. It worked like in a couple of days and my follow up showed that the skin healed up! Wow! Can't say enough good things about Dr. Han. Very professional and friendly and what a great experience!
