I recently had a major outbreak of an itchy rash with welts that I have never had before all over my torso. It was miserable! It was a Friday afternoon and my PCP referred me to Dr. Do. The office seemed very busy but Dr. Do's office did everything possible to squeeze me in. Dr. Do listened intently of what I had to say and truly concerned of what the issue could be. After the initial visit she seemed to think they were hives so she did a biopsy to confirm it. She gave me an RX for the itchiness and explained in detail what she thought it could be and suggested that I start a diary of my diet, meds, and what soaps, detergents and moisturizers I use. Results came back as hives. Had a follow-up visit 5 weeks later to determine if I needed any blood work. At this point, I had no reoccurrence of the hives that I had previously. Dr. Do decided that since this was an isolated incident and not chronic, that a blood work-up wasn't warranted. She advised me to keep the diary going and to contact her if the hives come back. I am very pleased with the attention that she gave me as well as from her office staff and assistants and the overall care I received. I highly recommend this office for any dermatological issues you have. An A+ in my book. Hopefully, this is an isolated incident and the hives won't reoccur. read more

I've been seeing Dr.Do for about three years now. I am amazed at her level of care as evidenced by the time she spends on my annual checkups. I don't have any family history of skin problems. I don't have any current problems of my own, but she looks me over with such thoroughness. I have to wonder how she maintains that level of focus with everyone she sees throughout an eight hour day. On top of which she speaks to me in a clear and jargon-free manner Dr Do answers any my questions in a thoughtful, unhurried way that makes me feel as though I'm her only patient.I And her staff! Some practices feel like a trip to the DMV. When I walk in the door, it feels like they were looking forward to seeing me. It's not necessary that they be anything more than civil, but they certainly brightens my day. read more

I've been seeing Dr.Alice Do for over 10 years. There's a reason a person stays with the same physician for so long. Always a wonderful experience with Dr. Do and her entire staff. Professional, courteous and very detailed oriented in dermatology.

-Never had a derma apt before -read mixed reviews both positive and opportunities -skeptical Decided on it anyway for convenience of location and leaning on the positive reviews. And largely because the when I called, the administrator patiently and proactively answered all my questions from the start actually being helpful to and catching a few things I hadn't considered. I called other places and folks who answered hardly answered with more than yes/no which was hard to navigate their practices and insurance policies. Came in for a cyst removal and Dr.Do explained everything to me and made sure I understood, gave me my choices before proceeding w anything. Even drew out some of the procedures and options--which no doc has candidly done before for me and a detail I greatly appreciated. She also put a little extra in the numbing "cocktail", which in the moment was a relief. One thing is the office building and lobbies seemed dated and dark so the perception might be that things may seem unmaintained. But in the actual patient journey everyone was nice start to finish. I'm leaving this review almost a month later with my shoulder healing up nicely. read more

My primary PA referred me to UCSF's Dermatology Clinic but when I contacted them for an appointment, they were booked up until 2027. I searched Dermatologist's on Yelp and at first chose Dr. Do for proximity but then I stayed. I went in to visit Dr. Alice Do a day after I visited another doctor for the same condition and these two different doctors were 180 degrees apart. From the beginning Dr. Alice Do's office was impressive, efficient and precise. The office uses technology more than others I have experienced to date from making online appointments accessing the office calendar, filling out your profile history on a tablet and my first experience checking out in front of a monitor with the person on Zoom. My face to face experience with Dr. Alice Do is that she exceeded expectations with her warm greeting, great bedside matter, knowledge, expert diagnosis and treatment plan. She also protects your treatment expenses on advising against certain tests that were normal but in my case would or could be a false negative and where to get specialized compounds that are competitively priced. I now finally feel confident about my diagnosis, my treatment plan and feel thankful UCSF was booked until 2027 causing me to find and in the end choose Lakeside Dermatology. read more

Dr Do has always been very thorough and professional in her approach to managing keeping me reassured about my yearly skin checkups. Building up a plan which is explained in a reassuring way, particularly those blemishes that need a more active investigation.
