I don't know who Anna is or whom I spoke with, but customer service was horrible! I walk in with a cake design in mind that I had mocked up for my lil baby boys 1st bday (safari theme). I TRIED to show this grumpy looking lady my chosen design but she refuses to even look at some of the designs. I then tell her that there are going to be 12 people, then she quickly insists that I need a cake for 35 people...Now how the hell?!?....not sure how she's doing her math, but all I know is that she needed a decent amount of space to put 3 small animals on top of a damn cake. Come on people...we're not stupid, we weren't born yesterday. Hell, I could've been a baker myself just to see how stupid of a price she was charging and on how "complex" of a design that really is, right ANNA! My family has been going to Anna's Cake House for all our events for as long as I can remember. Most recently, I hired her for my wedding cake. The cake was beautiful and delicious which is really all you need in a wedding cake. I got two flavors, red velvet, and her famous almond. Both flavors were delicious as always. All of the guests who had the cake were asking where it's from as it was so delicious. Her prices are also much more reasonable compared to some other bakers. I text them a picture of the exact cake I wanted. I asked will it be similar or exactly , she said exactly. It was a nice job, but instead of my cake being white, it was mint blue. Luckily it was pretty , even though it was for my daughters* dedication , it was still pretty. Also it wasn't exact but pretty close. The communication has been really difficult, and they are terrible replying customer's inquiries. They never confirm whether they can make the custom cake I ordered or on schedule to deliver until they were asked to confirm for a few times! And at the end, they didn't even have a box for the cake! It was delivered naked with the whole cake exposed outside....it's ridiculous for a $70 cake! And no candles as they promised. I hope this review can change the way you do your business. I had ordered a cake for my sons first birthday. The day of the party, I called the bakery to see when they will deliver to the banquet hall. I was told they were on their way. So I waited and waited. I get a call from the Lena, saying the cake has fallen. And I was both upset and angry at the same time. How can this be happening. Basically my sons two tier cake was being delivered in the trunk of a sedan and the driver avoided an accident and my sons cake had fallen over. And from the beginning I was told by Lena that she herself would be making the delivery, but I was wrong. Instead she was delivering a wedding cake somewhere else. Was my sons cake not as important? Why don't you have a professional van you deliver with? Anyways, she calls me and immediately apologizes and says she has a new cake in the works and she will discount me for the second one. So I go with it. My guests arrive the party starts and an hour into the party the cake arrived. I was not happy with any of the designs from both the toppled over cake and the new one. The fondant was still wet and it looked like an unprofessional baker put it together. I was so upset. So thinking I still have that "discount" I asked the driver how much I owe and he asked for full price. I told him I was told I would get a discount. And he says well we made and delivered the new cake. I can't believe she lied to me after all that happened. The 2 stars is more than what she deserves. Only because it tasted ok. I will never order from this cake house again. Stop lying to your customers and hire a professional cake deliverer. read more

I made an appointment for a wedding cake tasting. They were not ready for us and didn't know we had an appointment. They brought out 3 pieces of cake that seemed very old and left in the refrigerator for too long. Fork would not cut the cake!!! It was like a brick. We tasted it even though we didn't want to and it tasted like the refrigerator. My fiance and I were grossed out and so offended that they would serve us such things. We didn't even want to touch the other two pieces, they were inedible. How could they? I couldn't believe they had good reviews at all. read more

Where should I begin? When Lena first designed my UCLA graduation cake, I knew right then and there I had landed the jackpot when it came to finding the perfect bakery. Often times you get a really pretty cake that's not so pretty inside as far as the ingredients and the taste goes. But ladies and gentlemen, that's not the case here! You get the best of both worlds. Everyone who attends my family parties, already expects the amazing taste of Lena's cakes. Her speciality filling is out of this world and cannot be duplicated. So disappointed. Ordered two cakes, one two tier another single. What was delivered was not what we ordered. Lena was trying to tell me she had everything in writing and that it corresponded with the cake delivered. I was looking at my copy and nothing on it was what was delivered. My daughter's name is 3 letters long. I spelled it and had it written on the order form. She was insisting that what she wrote on cake was correct! In addition the appearance was so very sad...my 12 year old has done better with her cakes and cupcakes. I provided a picture discussed appearance and yet so not what was delivered, cakes were unrefined, like novice did them. Paid hundreds of dollars and would have done better with a store bought cake...at least then I wouldn't be so very disappointed with the end product. In this case I didn't get what I paid for. Had a last minute order put in for a birthday cake for my mom, and Anna's Cake House came through in a big way. My mom likes purses, so I had one made in the shape of a Hermes handbag, and the final product looked absolutely awesome, and for a really fair price considering the work and the turnaround rate. MESSED UP ORDER 3 times!! We gave this lady the benefit of the doubt 3 times. Messed up my wedding cake, not what I wanted inside at all! Vanilla cake with chocolate mousse and strawberry filling...she decided to fill with some random almond paste. Graduation cake wanted a small graduation cap on top of a round cake, she made the entire cake a graduation cap and it looked horrible! Most recently for my baby shower, wanted a vanilla cake with chocolate mousse and strawberries...she made a chocolate (SUPER DRY) cake with strawberry cream and frozen strawberries! We even called the night before and confirmed it would be a vanilla cake! AND WORST of all...POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE...Im going to Glendale next time and will pay more for better quality. read more

I recently purchased a cake, along with desert and pastries from Anna's Cake House for my mom's surprise birthday party, and was very disappointed with their service. Though Lena was very kind and accommodating when we initially met to discuss my order, her mistake last night prior to the event left me feeling extremely upset. As per our order, Lena was supposed to place the pastries and chocolate covered strawberries on four gold stands, which she showed us during the meeting and wrote on our invoice. Since this was a surprise, naturally I would be the last to show up with my family. At home, I received a text from my cousin telling me there was a box of pastries on the cake table and asking me what to do with them. HOW EMBARRASSING! I was furious! Who brings pastries and just LEAVES THEM IN A BOX to sit there at the cake table?!??!?! Not only that, we were notified by restaurant management that the strawberries were placed in their fridge. Were you just expecting me to come over during my mom's surprise party and place the arrangements myself!!? My cousins had to scramble to place them on the basic, ugly trays that the restaurant had. The entire point of my order for deserts was for visual purposes. This was a very special night and I had a vision, and that vision was ruined thanks to some absent-minded, negligent staff. It was extremely unprofessional for her delivery person (whom I am told is her daughter) to just leave a box of deserts and run. Would you like for someone to do that at your party!?! On top of that, when we did call Lena and told her about the issue, it seems like she didn't really care and stated that we never discussed ordering stands from her. Not only that, she refused to have her delivery person drive over to bring us the stands and arrange the pastries and said that we basically had to make do with whatever the restaurant had. Were we not important enough!? How can you make a mistake like that? What if this was a wedding?! I trusted these people to bring my visions to life, and they shattered it and took no accountability for their actions. I understand mistakes happen, but it was the way it was handled that made me even more upset. I have yet to receive an apology. Because they just care about $$$$. On top of that, the cake was not even visually what we had discussed it to look like. The colors were completely off, the flowers were too big and too excessive, and the pearls were sloppy. All of these were discussed very specifically during the meeting, and we were assured that everything would turn out beautifully. It is a shame because the cake actually tasted decent, but because of all this I will never come back nor recommend this business to any friends and family. PEOPLE PLEASE READ THE "NOT RECOMMENDED" SECTION to avoid being conned by this business. The workers were very dishonest, one lady showed me how the cake would look, but when we picked it up, it looked totally different! wrong style, wrong design, and wrong color! Bad ownership bad smell too! To top it off, the cake was lop sided and looked, felt, and tasted like plastic...i have pictures of the cake to prove this but i wont go low and take it to that level, however it was very embarrassing at our party...everyone asked "who made the cake?" and i told family and friends and they laughed...obviously i didnt refer anyone because it would make us look bad...the cake looked like it got hit by a bus twice..it was stale and probably old no wonder it didnt look like anything i ordered...i thought i was getting a special custom made cake for $120 but i got trash garbage...Annas is a joke to say the least...Our party was awesome memorable and amazing but the cake from Lena killed it...well never forget this...i was going to go in there and make a scene and demand my money back but thanks to yelp i can help people out professionally and maturely in a safer way..this cake had no flavor it looked like a 5 year old made it..i can go on and on about how ugly nasty and flat out wrong this cake was but im sure yall got the point...in conclusion CAUTION DANGER STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE DO YOURSELF THAT HUGE FAVOR PLEASE DONT GO HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT read more
