the menu of a restaurant
Roohi G.

I am a big fan of South Indian cuisine. Recently tried out this amazing restaurant and tried out their speciality which is dosas . The dosas were huge and i loved the different varieties of chutneys they serve with the dosa. We tried the Mysore masala dosa and cheese mix vegetable dosa . Both were really good and I enjoyed the ambience. They clearly have all the safety measures in place for the customers . Tables are set according to that . Definitely back to the place . Totally recommended

Been here twice , food is good but the only irritating thing here is u have to pay for coconut chutney if u order idli sambhar . Charging for chutney is insane to customers if u r eating South Indian food. Restaurant business is all about customer satisfaction which leads to word of mouth marketing . CUSTOMER VOICE IS BUSINESS. Owner should revise the policy . Would rate this place above 4 if they more customer oriented . Good food n superior customer experience makes business prosper !!!

I was on my way to another restaurant when I drove pass their new Mississauga location on Argentia Road. I eat a lot of Indian food but this is the first vegetarian restaurant i've visited. The service was very attentive, as the place was new and there wasn't any crowd. The chutneys were a little too watered down, which diluted the taste, but the dosa itself was well made - thin, crispy, flavourful. Overall, I felt the food was over-priced, hence the 3-stars. I paid $10/dosa + tax + tips, for nothing more than flour, potatoes and very diluted chutneys. I would have happily paid $5 or $6 and gone back again, but at $10 a piece, I doubt I'll return.

Mysore masala dosa

Great experience. Ordered masala cheese dosa, podi dosa, mysore masala dosa, madras dosa, and green chutney dosa. All dosas were fantastic. We usually eat at Udupi and have never give AnnaLakshmi a chance. Finally did, and it was a hit! The sambhar was very good and this will be our new go-to since this is closer to us. All the dosas are pretty big. There isn't an extra fee on the sambhars but there is an extra fee on the chutneys.

Onion uttapam with three sauces and sambhar
Ankit K.

Everything is great there! I tried onion uttapam there and it was damn delicious All three sauces were lip smacking and sambhar was amazing. The only thing it lacked is the sitting space. If you are going alone you will have to face some difficulties because they have spaces for people who come in groups of 2 or more! Also, we have to wait a long time if we haven't got a seat to sit. Giving 4 stars just because of this Food : awesome Service : Prompt Quality: amazing Taste : wonderful

Paneer masala dosa and paper masala dosa

Try this amazing dishes and also its idli sambhar.plus the staff were courteous and waiting time is there.as it is so busy that why take an appointment first as in winters you cannot sit outside to wait during covid times.

Highly recommend. Looks like a relatively new business and it was full! The service was quick and friendly. The portion of the dosas were much bigger than what I've ever seen. They had this tipi shaped dosa. Will try next time!!

Delicious dosas and uttapams. Good service. Place could be a tiny bit cleaner. Skip the vadas and idlis. Comfortable seating.

Ok, so I rarely write reviews. I find them a bit of a waste of time, and I'm firmly against writing…read moreone if you dislike the restaurant. Hence why we're here. Well, at first I was a bit on the fence about ordering cause of the vegetarian/vegan menu, I like my meat, love meat, got to have my protein dammit! But wow! was I ever surprised and happy about following my gut and choosing to go there. You see, I'm from Vancouver, and if you know a bit about my hometown is that you know we have a very large asian population. Heck, I'd even go as far as saying it's my second language, (my first language is English and my parents are Chilean...never spoken a word of it) but I've been around it so much somehow, I feel I could get by given the chance. So, by examining the pictures from the online menu, I thought to myself; If the food is anything remotely like the pictures, it looks exactly like my fav spot in Vancouver - Congee Noodle King- also a must try if you're in east Vancouver. Just trust my absent Asian ancestry ok?! I ordered the N65. Fried Noodles with Steamed and Stir-Fried Bean Curd, and as a request asked them to make it spicy to which they happily and kindly obliged. This dish was packed with flavour. Oh em gee! Loaded with fresh crunchy veggies, the noodles were spot on: thin, velvety and a lot of them. Makes for some healthy slurps! Oh, did I mention the meat? No, I didn't, because it didn't have any, and I have never not missed something so much. The crispy fried bean curds tasted like deep fried spare ribs. My pupils dilated a bit. And that's ok cause I went into a food coma, got to heaven and wrote a review about the very first Asian restaurant I try in Toronto and I'm already planning to go back. If you give this place less than 5 stars you don't know food, Asian food or how to speak it so go on and chew on some meat! Thank you for the wonderful and friendly service as well. I shall return. How do you say that in Mandarin? Cheers! - Patricio

I tried their soy chicken drum sticks, kim chi, dumplings, siu mai, and radish cake. My absolute favourite and would recommend is the radish cake!! It is so good. The kim chi was off-putting and was drenched in whatever sauce. The dumplings are also really good as well. I like the layout and aesthetics of the restaurant. One thing to note also was that the employees just seemed miserable. I understand we came an hour before closing but they just seemed miserable and sort of ticked off that we were coming an hour before closing.

The restaurant looks plain from the outside, but when we walked in we were surprised by how bright and snazzy it was. Long gleaming cases of multicolored sweets run along one side and there is a take out buffet at the back. In the center there are a number of booth in bright orange. The whole effect is very very appealing. After a bit of a miscommunication - we accidentally ordered order take out (which is priced slightly differently) but we wanted to eat in. After we sorted that out it all went smoothly. The staff was exceptionally helpful and very friendly. After we looked at the menu we quickly abandoned plans for light breakfast and decided to go for a full feast - it was just too tempting not to. We had the Chana Bhatura & the Chana Kulcha - which both came with the same chana curry but different breads, so we could share and sample. The bhatura arrived as two perfect pillows. They looked a structural marvel and when pulled apart to be eaten were deliciously chewy. It was a brilliant accompaniment to the curry which was spot on - spiced to be a bit hot but for us it was perfect. The kulcha came stuffed with a mix of aloo, onion and paneer. It was exceptionally tasty and again went perfectly with the chana curry. We also had a samosa each and a side order of dhokla (a tasty savory sponge which is a little bit tangy). The samosa were generous and spiced nicely and even had some paneer in them. The dhokla were great when dipped in some of the green coriander sauce which came with it. It is hard to express how much we liked everything. It was a genuine treat. Even the raita, pickled veg and sauces that came on the side were all just a bit elevated. We cleaned our plates. We were so full we didn't have any room for the sweets, which looked amazing. We are already planning a return visit. Five stars well earned!

Veggie Paradise specialises in Veg take-out (call ahead), Frozen/Dried meals and ingredients. I write "Veg" 'cause it may be even Vegan, as opposed to just Vegetarian. They also do custom vegan/vegetarian cakes/pastries. This place is run by 2 sisters and their workers. As soon as Sandra heard that I wanted something to eat, she prepped me with an Asian meal - as opposed to their other meals that are more popular amongst gwai-lo. Meal comprised of a soup (looked like Tom Yum, but not sweet/spicy), a separate plate with Rice, Bok Choy (chopped with garlic), & a portion of fermented Mustard Greens with Green Peas (this was medium spicy). The meal was tasty, yet rather homey as it wasn't overly salted. I really felt like I was eating at an aunt's house! This place is located in a rather industrial, catering to Vegans/Vegetarians (or people who just enjoy the occasional veg meal), so just call ahead if you want to order something! The sisters will even offer you a sample if it's available. :)

IRating 4.5. had heard of this place from a friend. We were…read morein the neighbourhood so we stopped in for lunch. It is bright, clean and they have a wonderful menu of ALL vegan and gf food. Everything is made in house and nothing is deep fried and no refined sugar used.....so no guilt happy eating. They have an extensive dessert display and I had the peach crumble bar which was yummy! I shared the cauliflower wings with spicy sauce and arancini with cashew "blue" cheeze. Both were tasty and satisfying. I wanted the potato soup with coconut bacon but found it slightly bland and it just tasted like coconut chunks in the soup vs "bacon" flavour(likely seasoning dissolved off in the soup). I had the warrior "taco" which was basically a lettuce wrap. It was very tasty but difficult to eat snd messy. The sun dried tomato flavour was so good. I love lettuce wraps but need to find a clever way of eating it more neatly. Hubby and friend had the chickpea burger with baked sweet potato and regular fries. We all left satisfied and happy

My favourite vegan/vegetarian restaurant so far…read more I appreciate that they use real ingredients and abstain from refined sugars... I ordered the: 1. Falafel bowl: The tzatziki sauce tasted exactly like tzatziki sauce using yogurt etc. The falafels are baked and not deep fried. Con for me was the price - $16 is steep. 2. Pumpkin cheezcake: Absolute must get. I prefer this to regular cheesecake - sweetened with maple syrup. The crust is made from dates and maybe something else. The coconut whip cream is a nice substitute for the regular whip cream. GET THIS. 3. Oat cranberry walnut cookie: Get this - end of story 4. Double chocolate sweet potatoe cookie: This was a bit odd; It was not as satisfying as the oat cranberry walnut cookie. However, I still devoured it. Service: The ladies behind the counter were very helpful, and patient with me. The kitchen seemed a bit slow, given the restaurant was only 20% full. If I'm in Hamilton, I will definitely visit again.
