Wife and I stopped in for dinner. And shared a Idli plate and an onion Rana masala dosa. Both dishes came with a generous amount of sambar and chutneys. The food was very good but I have had better. The dosa could have used more onions. Overall, good spot for a late night meal with fast service. read more

Amazing food and great service! The flavours were so authentic and everything tasted fresh. Loved every bite. Highly recommend Annalaxmi to everyone in Brampton! read more

Ambiance was great, they have lighted "paintings" of a wedding on different sitting places. We had a big party so the service was ok, since they were short of staff. Food was good. From the outside it does not look that good but go inside. Lots of parking. read more

I am a big fan of South Indian cuisine. Recently tried out this amazing restaurant and tried out their speciality which is dosas . The dosas were huge and i loved the different varieties of chutneys they serve with the dosa. We tried the Mysore masala dosa and cheese mix vegetable dosa . Both were really good and I enjoyed the ambience. They clearly have all the safety measures in place for the customers . Tables are set according to that . Definitely back to the place . Totally recommended read more

Food is good Service could be better as very slow and Not pay attention for requests Ambiance is ok not great as our table was wobbly read more

food is very delicious all the time, this time hari help me to place the order he is very helpful and kind.

Been here twice , food is good but the only irritating thing here is u have to pay for coconut chutney if u order idli sambhar . Charging for chutney is insane to customers if u r eating South Indian food. Restaurant business is all about customer satisfaction which leads to word of mouth marketing . CUSTOMER VOICE IS BUSINESS. Owner should revise the policy . Would rate this place above 4 if they more customer oriented . Good food n superior customer experience makes business prosper !!! read more

Stopped in here with my hubby while visiting his family in the Brampton area. This vegetarian dosa spot is fairly large with a two sided dining room. We were told they were so busy in their original location they had to expand to include the larger area. Apparently they also offer a weekend brunch too, which I would love to check out. To start we ordered idly and vada, which were very tasty. The idly were light and fluffy, while the vada was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The steaming, spicy sambar was a great accompaniment to dip the vada and idly into - so good. I chose the spring roll dosa and hubby chose the madras masala dosa. Food was really delicious, everything was well seasoned and tasted fresh. I would have preferred my spring roll dosa to have fresh, uncooked veggies stuffed inside (instead of fried) but overall I enjoyed this dosa. I think I would like to try another dosa variety next time. All in all, a tasty spot to check out if you're vegetarian or not! read more

Poor experience here. The Spring Vegetable dosa barely contained any vegs, everything we ordered was not up to specifications, and both the utthappamas and dosas were way too spicy (despite being ordered mild). Only 1-2 items in the thali were somewhat decent (the papadum being one of them). read more

I was on my way to another restaurant when I drove pass their new Mississauga location on Argentia Road. I eat a lot of Indian food but this is the first vegetarian restaurant i've visited. The service was very attentive, as the place was new and there wasn't any crowd. The chutneys were a little too watered down, which diluted the taste, but the dosa itself was well made - thin, crispy, flavourful. Overall, I felt the food was over-priced, hence the 3-stars. I paid $10/dosa + tax + tips, for nothing more than flour, potatoes and very diluted chutneys. I would have happily paid $5 or $6 and gone back again, but at $10 a piece, I doubt I'll return. read more

Still as good as ever . Some places maintain their standards in taste and don't disappoint . Kudos to the team for sailing through a tough pandemic. Tried Sambar Idli, dosa varieties and thali and all were good and service was good too. Will definitely be one of our regular spots read more

Everything is great there! I tried onion uttapam there and it was damn delicious All three sauces were lip smacking and sambhar was amazing. The only thing it lacked is the sitting space. If you are going alone you will have to face some difficulties because they have spaces for people who come in groups of 2 or more! Also, we have to wait a long time if we haven't got a seat to sit. Giving 4 stars just because of this Food : awesome Service : Prompt Quality: amazing Taste : wonderful read more

Great experience. Ordered masala cheese dosa, podi dosa, mysore masala dosa, madras dosa, and green chutney dosa. All dosas were fantastic. We usually eat at Udupi and have never give AnnaLakshmi a chance. Finally did, and it was a hit! The sambhar was very good and this will be our new go-to since this is closer to us. All the dosas are pretty big. There isn't an extra fee on the sambhars but there is an extra fee on the chutneys. read more

I would give 2.5 if I had an option. Chilly Idli - very bad . They literally cooked it with the leftover idlis and it was cold. We even asked them to reheat and zero apologies on that. Dosas were good and chutney again tasted bad. Taste is something I don't mind but giving cold idlis is unacceptable. Coffee was close to authentic. read more

Highly recommend. Looks like a relatively new business and it was full! The service was quick and friendly. The portion of the dosas were much bigger than what I've ever seen. They had this tipi shaped dosa. Will try next time!! read more

We are experienced vegetarian South Indian food fans but this was OUTSTANDING. Driving up we were excited to see lots of other yummy businesses and other places to check out. The interior reminded me of lovely times in Kerala, Mysore and Chennai and was a nice surprise in a strip mall. The service was excellent and several checked on us or cam when we seemed to need something. We had the Rasam soup, such deep rich tomato, red chili and made a great start to the meal. Next we had the chily idly which is not to be missed and a totally new way to have idly. So crispy and bringing sweet hakka chili vibes with the onion and green pepper. The gobi 65 was amazing but I just kept coming back to the unique idly. Both were very generous portions which made us instantly happy to have something to take home. The rava dosa was so light and crispy and airy. The Masala Dosa was an excellent classic preparation. Sambar was good, earthy, tender, homey and not oily. It was flavourful, not just spicy. The coconut, green, and tomato chutneys were delicately spiced. We definitely look forward to returning since the pooris, and really everything looked great. read more

There's two kinds of good food - one that has excellent display if culinary skills and sophistication, and one that's simply a good healthy nutritious meal, like home. Annalakshmi has some of the best home cooked meal like tasting food in the area. We were there for their weekend buffet, and everything from their idli sambar to their chole and biryani reminded me of home. If you are expecting oil soaked overly spiced creamy buttery food, Annalakshmi is probably not the place. But, if you want to taste idli dosai like your mom would make, do visit! read more

Visited this place for Dosa. I was surprised how busy it was. The food is ok I didn't love the Dosa I have had better. They sell a tamarind rice which I would recommend. The decor is a bit drab. I may revisit but would not go out of my way to eat her as they food was ok. The service was good and staff were pleasant. read more

Non authentic south indian restaurant! (stop fooling people) Disorganized staff management and had wait for a lifetime to get a table n be served (after repeatedly calling server to take our order) Only saving grace was the sambar to an extent. Coconut chutney was awful (instead of using freshly grated coconut used powdered coconut) which gave a bad after taste. Dosa was bad (tasted like readymade batter with loads of soda rather than letting it naturally ferment) and caused indigestion after 30 mins finishing my dinner. Not going to visit this place again. NOT RECOMMENDED read more

I should preface this review by saying I usually avoid vegetarian Indian food whenever I can because it is something I don't usually enjoy; except for the food served here! I was introduced to this place by a friend who said nothing but good things about it, admittedly I was a little hesitant at first, but I was glad I went for it. Annalakshmi has a decently sized Dosa menu consisting of different variants of Dosa to appease each pallet. I went for the Madras Dosa which was quite amazing, it had robust flavours and tasted quite spicy! As an accompaniment I had the Onion and Chilli Bajjis which were slightly oily but still tasted good. You also have the option to customize how your Dosa is made (less oil, more oil, extra crispy, etc.). That is something to note if you like your food a certain way. Service is always great here, the staff always greets you with a smile and are very courteous; something generally not found in smaller ethnic restaurants from my experience. I would definitely check this place out if you want to get your Dosa craving fixed! read more

I really love this place! We used to love south-indian cuisine when we lived in India and it was wonderful to find this place. The food is really excellent when consumed in the restaurant. For take out, if you order dosas they become soggy and not so good. The staff is very polite and efficient. I like my dosas to be crispy and they get them just right! I have tried several of their variations on dosas and while they are all good, my favourite remains the Butter Paper Masala Dosa. They serve 3 chutneys (coconut, green and red) as accompaniment to the dosa and those are excellent except watch out for the red! In addition to that there is their absoutely delicious Sambar! I could have that as a soup :) Do give this place a shot - you will love it. read more

We love their dosa! We used to go from Brampton to Mississauga for dosa, but finally found a good place closer to home. We usually do takeout, but are looking forward to trying their weekend buffet soon read more

Wow just wow for the delicious food! We headed to Annalakshmi on a Saturday afternoon as were were craving for their dosas and what took us by surprise was to see how busy they were! I hadn't made a reservation and so wrong of me to assume they wouldn't be busy! We had to wait approximately 25 minutes as it was a packed house and this told us to have a look at the buffet. For sure we changed our minds and went for the buffet instead of a la carte which also includes freshly made dosas and hot, hot puris served at the table! The buffet comprised of chutneys, pickles, rasa, sambhar, 3 vegetarian dishes (delicious!!), masala potatoes for the dosa, idles, vadas, yoghurt, pulao, papads and 2 deserts (hope I am forgetting any other eats). My family and I ate to our hearts content and more. Simple, uncomplicated, delicious food for our soul! Thank you to service staff especially the 2 ladies who took such good care of us, always asking if we wanted more dosas or puris! Such pleasant smile on their faces in-spite of it being extremely busy. Thank you very much for helping me to tick off my cravings for South Indian food and we will be back soon! read more

This is a great place to eat vegetarian South Indian food! The dosas we ate were delicious- we had madras masala dosa and the special rava masala dosa. Sambar accompanying the dosa was especially great! This could be a good competition for the other existing South Indian restaurants in the area. Service is excellent- they were very accommodative to our requests for hot water, modifications to some of the food we wanted and extra plates. And unlike Gurulakshmi, I did not feel rushed to finish my meal. Only small note: Thalis are only available for lunch- the menu didn't mention that, which would have been nice to know in advance before we came for dinner. Menu should be updated to reflect when food is/ isn't available. read more

My go to spot for dosa in the north-west side of Brampton. Prefer to eat dine-in as dosa gets soggy when you take out. I'm not sure if I'm imagining it but the portion size seems to have gotten smaller. Theirango shakes are thick and delicious, real fruit and you can taste the quality! read more

Our favourite South Indian eat-out in the area. We went to Annalakshmi sometime back based on a friend's recommendation. The place is nice and clean and the servers were good. Of course, the ambience is not comparable to Gurulakshmi but again, we didn't have to reserve or wait in queue. Overall, we were seated nicely and ordered Idli sambhar, Vada Sambhar, Paneer Masala dosa, Onion Tomato uthapam. The food was very very good and delicious. I ordered the Dosa to be crisp and it was spot on. The Paneer Masala filing was also very good. The sambhar had all the right flavours and Idlis were soft and nicely cooked. It's a perfect place to enjoy South Indian flavours and would highly recommend for anyone looking for a quick bite. read more
