When I said I was going to leave because they clearly didn't know how to remove hard gel, which is fine I would have preferred you were honest and said you didn't know how to remove it. She began to scream in my face and insisted I paid for a service I did not receive or that they completed. I said I would stay for the removal but after that I am leaving because I genuinely felt like I had no other option. She was very aggressive, I genuinely thought she was capable of standing between me and the door. During my service, I watched them use the same acetone bowl that they used for me for someone else. That is extremely unsanitary and a violation of the department of health. I remember I use to come here as a kid and they were always full. Now I understand why they're empty. The owner lacks professionalism. There is no reason why you should be screaming in a clients face. I have been in customer service in a long time and I would never.

But you can access this place easily via the L (gray subway line) - get off at the Myrtle-Wyckoff and walk a few blocks down Myrtle towards 71st Ave...Catalpa Avenue is a small road on the left. Here is why it's worth it to go to this place. It was my very first waxing. The Waxer, June, took a peek at my, um, situation, and said that the hair was too short to wax away properly, but that if I had the patience, she would pluck out the hairs. Well, it was nothing for me to lie there comfortably and have good conversation with her...but she was ridiculous, stooping over for about 45 minutes being a perfectionist and making sure every last hair was gone! She didn't even charge any extra for this outrageous special treatment. Afterwards, I got an immaculate, long lasting mani/pedi (and they weren't acrylics). The wait during the summer can get long and they ask that you write your name down and everyone is called in the order that they sign in. But during the winter, you can walk right in and out in under an hour. There are brand new (as of 2012) massage chairs that you sit in while getting a pedi and they use a mechanical buffer for your nails. The best part is you're given a hot sterilized towel instead of a paper towel during your mani and pedicure. The tools are also sterilized in a machine where you can see it.
