Growing up, our family used to alternate different Chinese takeout spots in the neighborhood - but…read morethe one that was most consistently on our radar was Mr. Q's. While the quality has gone through highs and lows over the years, they have recently been the most consistent spot in the neighborhood - and as such become the sole place I order Chinese from when in the Bronx. At face value, what sets Mr. Q's apart from other Chinese spots in the area is the fact that they offer a full sit-down restaurant in addition to their takeout. The dining room is a decent size and tastefully decorated. Parking can be tough as it's on a busy main road, but I have always eventually found a spot. While the quality of food has been up and down over the years, more recently I feel it's been consistently good. It's not overly greasy, and the ingredients tasted relatively fresh and high quality. The staff is also super friendly, and whenever I order delivery it arrives super fast. Overall, Mr. Q's has held up IMO as being one of the top Chinese food spots in the neighborhood. Whenever I'm in the Bronx craving Chinese, I will always choose here to go.

As other reviewers have mentioned- the construction of the rolls can suffer at times- for me this usually looks like 1 at most 2 pieces losing their integrity when I pick them up. My friends and I agree that this is Riverdale, not A sushi hotspot desitation and we would rather sacrifice a point on the physical construction /proper sushi technique than go somewhere else that has beautiful perfectly rolled sushi- with less fresh fish or rolls that are more rice than filling. Also- the sushi IS good! I usually go for salmon, tuna and a sweet potato tempura roll The lunch specials (monday-saturday until 3:15 pm) are a really good deal and come with pretty good miso soup and a fresh side salad. I am appreciative that they run a little later in the day as well. Aoyu has always been very reasonable abt modifications- there is no upcharge for brown rice for lunch bento- easy to request veggie instead of pork gyoza, and I really don't like crab- imitation or otherwise- so they always let me sub a cucumber avocado roll instead. Take advantage of the 3 sushi roll lunch special. It is very fairly priced and you get a decent amount of food. I went with the eel avocado roll, yellowtail scallion roll, and salmon roll. They were perfectly fresh, nicely spicy, and packed with flavor. I also got a sashimi appetizer which tasted very fresh, light, and delicious. They provided an assortment of yummy fresh fish which were all very good. Portions are big, so I was stuffed and happy. Prices are more than reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get. It's definitely a great value in Riverdale. I have been ordering from here on and off for years, and the consistency is unreal. Fresh ingredients, delicious execution, and that neighborhood charm keep us coming back. If you're craving authentic, satisfying Japanese food without the fuss or sky-high prices, Tokyo House is the spot.

The workers were super nice and friendly. They checked in on us to make sure we didn't have any issues ordering. The ordering site though was such a pain. I couldn't tell if items that I wanted were checked off and instead of being able to edit them once added to the cart, the item would have to be deleted and done over again. We were more frustrated with the website than anything. Food came out at a reasonable time. We were a party of 5. They have bells to ring as a thank you to the wait staff. Inside was pretty packed with people. They have an order option for to go orders. I LOVED the food. The combination of Jamaican meets Asian fusion was on point. The ox tail bao buns were so amazing and didn't disappoint. The combo of the sauce, ox tail, and sweet plantains were worth every penny. I ordered the curry chicken ramen and the mix of the curry with the pork soup option was delicious. We also had the jerk chicken ramen. Warning if you don't like spice, the jerk chicken does come with a kick so if you order spice level for your bowl, it'll add a level of added spice to it.
