Smokey Mac and Cheese - $9
Sharon Y.

Decent vegan takeout joint with fair prices and some interesting options. A small joint operating in what used to be the spot of The Pulp for all my OG Leslievillians. Ordered on here using Ritual ($5 off first time orders from here! Not sure how long this deal will last). My order was ready by the time I got there, and I picked it up seamlessly. I got the Smokey Mac and Cheese ($9), which came with kimchi and lemon tofu. I am not a vegan, so I will say that it definitely doesn't taste the same as your usual real cheese version, but for what it is, it's not bad. Better than KD but definitely not better than the real thing. I wish it was a bit more "saucy", as the whole dish was fairly dry and I drained my whole water bottle finishing it. I did like the taste of the kimchi and lemon tofu pieces which added a nice texture and a punch of flavour. It wasn't a huge portion size (note my picture) but for me it was enough. The prices of the food here are pretty great compared to your usual health food/vegan fare (most things are under $10). They also do smoothies here, if you're into that. Overall the food was more of a 3/5 for me, but I'll give them the extra star because I'm not a vegan and so I feel like I'm a bit of a harsher judge of mac n cheese. They have a pulled jackfruit slider on their menu that looks good, I might try that next time.

Great little spot full of creative and tasty vegan offerings. Top notch catering service - loved the (vegan) charcuterie board!

I feel that the price point is actually very reasonable given the portions and quality of ingredients. A disclaimer that I've only tried their noodle dishes and not the sushi (I do like my seafood haha), but these are fantastic - rich in flavour without being overwhelmed with salt and sugar (the typical fallbacks for vegan food). Highly recommend the truffle fried rice and the Singapore noodles! The fact that the food seems to be relatively healthy (at least psychologically...) is of course a plus as well. The interior is fairly upscale, the dim lighting and elegant decor contributing to a muted but lovely ambiance. I do love a place that allows you to have a conversation at normal volumes! Service is always excellent without fail, the staff is helpful but not overbearing. A must for anyone who's vegan, vegan-curious, or simply searching for some great food in beautiful surroundings!

If you get a pineapple slice, make sure you eat it, so delicious! I ordered the eggs Benedict, which was missing a little something for me but the home fries were some of the best I've ever had. I believe they were seasoned with rosemary, which was delightful. I also ordered a peanut butter smoothie and it was absolutely delicious. They also have an assortment of vegetarian and vegan options, along with fresh juices - I hear the watermelon juice is amazing. Customer service is top tier!

Now on to the food, we got their huge platter the Supreme for $20 bucks which we can easily share between 2. No tax if you pay in cash too. I enjoyed that you can choose French toast or pancakes and it's like a classic breakfast but more elevated and stacked up with fresh fruit as well. Lots of healthy options too from their menu from fresh juice to smoothies.

This continues the 2025 alphabet series, C is for Cafe Landwer. On Tuesday, 6/3/25, we went to St. Lawrence Market; see my B is for Buster Sea Cove. Seems like we happened to go alphabetical for lunch/brunch as the next day Wed., 6/4/25. This place had good reviews. So, we got on TTC to Osgoode station and was a very close walk. It said established in 1919, so we thought it's a good sign it's been in business over a century; although not this location specifically. Their history in the 20th century was that they started in Berlin, Germany in 1919, but they were a Jewish family who ended up immgrating to Israel in 1933, opening their store there, and expanded locations throughout Israel. Their history in Toronto & North America (including some in the US) is much more recent since opening in 2017. Unfortunately, my closest is New York City; none in Maryland or DC area. This location is in busy downtown Toronto. We sat outside on their big patio area as the weather was warm and could enjoy the view of the buildings, people, cars, etc. Server was friendly answering our questions. I ended up getting an egg benedict with salmon in a croissant. It was creative and delicious take on egg benedict. The only issue was it was messy to eat in the croissant, but I didn't care as it was so delicious. My girlfriend got a Belgian waffle with blueberries, whipped cream, etc. It was unique and very good & sweet too as I tried a bite. Overall, this was a 5-star experience with great food, service, & atmosphere.

We sat for a while and no one took attention (we were outside and they were busy but no excuse for them -- they should do better). We had folks come in and out and were somewhat nonchalant and not attentive. Food: This was the great part of the experience. - Berries and Granola with Greek Yogurt: My brother in law got this an he devoured it and said it was great. - Farmers Breakfast: My wife got this and she LOVED it. She went back to get their Halwah Latte (which she said was just OK) - Egg white Omlette Skillet: I customized my food and it was good -- for reference I've had better only because the cheese was feta and it was unclear that this was the only option as I don't love feta. Also I'm pretty sure while I asked for egg whites there was normal egg (i.e., eggs). If you order egg white make sure the server hears you. They screwed this up for me. This is why I'm giving it three stars -- I could have made a stink but didn't think it was necessary to do so. All in all -- I'd recommend this spot to folks but don't go there thinking the service will be great.

It has a clean, almost cafeteria feel which doesn't do a lot for the experience but at least provides confidence in the food quality. Service is friendly and professional, however it doesn't offer table ordering so you order at the counter and the food to your table. They advertise "Wheatless and Meatless" so as well a gluten free baked goods they offer many alternatives to popular brunch staples like bacon and eggs. I had the Breakfast Bowl, a beautiful medley of guacamole, pico de gallo, sweet potato, roasted mushroom, organic kale, black beans and tofu eggs. It was delicious. Have to admit, not exactly sunny side up eggs over a couple of slices of bacon, but it did taste great and I actually felt good afterwards. My daughter had the avocado toast which was served on a seed and oat toast. Spectacular dish, really tasty and gorgeous! I'm a black tea drinker and an added bonus is that they serve one of the best I've had (other than in my own kitchen).
