We had our two younger children with us and they were brought snacks and some things to play with. They brought us all back to a lovely living room type exam room that really made things comfortable. The nurse asked questions while sitting on the floor with us loving on our baby. One major thing I appreciated was when the Dr came she completed her exam and did not beat around the bush. She confirmed our concerns. It has been so hard trying to figure out what was best to do for our baby. I really appreciated the confirmation of how bad things were. We were able to say our goodbyes on our time. The staff was amazing coming in and checking on us and being with us every step of the way. They even completed all the paperwork needed before we started our goodbyes which was extremely helpful emotionally. Which I was SIGNIFICANTLY surprised by the price of the whole process versus the care and support we received. They truly care for your pet and for you! We had been going to a vet closer to us. However we will be changing asap. Thank you for being there for us when we really needed it!

They were really kind and the girl said that she would check and see if any doctor could help us today and came back and told us when to be there! We got there and everybody treated my husband and our little dog and myself so nicely, very pleasant. Dr. Oliver came in and he was just the best, as well as his assistant. They took care of our "baby", told us everything about what he was going to do and then did do it and was great to work with us. I can't THANK HIM enough for seeing us today. The service we received was top notch. That would be our place to go if we lived closer. Our local offices need to learn what good service is because today we sure saw what it is! So when I started calling all the local vets I was shocked to learn that it was going to cost $300 to $330 to get the little operation done. I went and asked around at work. "Definitely call Columbia Veterinary Clinic." What a difference. $127 for the same service!!! Now the place is a bit of a dive, but the dog doesn't care! The procedure is like McDonalds (and I say this as a good thing). It is an "in and out" kind of a thing. 1. You set up appointment 2. You drop off dog between 7:30 and 9:00 am (there is a line of people waiting to get animals checked in) 3. The talk fast and curt: they want information, they write it down and someone takes the dog immediately to the back room 4. You pick up the dog between 3 and 4, and they mean it. Don't be late or there is a fine. BUT DID I MENTION THEY ARE ARE INEXPENSIVE. Now I supposed you could go somewhere else, have a smiling vet come out, shake your hand, tell you how cute your dog is, and this can all be done in a new fancy building with dog leashes for sale hanging off the wall...BUT THE DOG DOESN'T CARE! And neither should you. Save the money, and take your pet here. Sooo much cheaper than anywhere else. BTW, my dog also had a hernia. Another $50 took care of it while he was still under. I am sure it would have been 3 times that somewhere else. One more thing...if this seems impersonal and you wonder if the vet is going to do a good job...there was research done recently on hospitals that specialize in heart surgeries (for humans) that showed the doctor who did surgeries all day learned to do it quickly and better than those who did fewer. I am sure this vet is a professional who knows his stuff...you don't meet him because he is doing what he does best, taking care of your dog.

My new friend was very old, and very sweet and needed to be handled gently. But the vet ripped her out of her crate by her neck hair and caused her to yelp in pain. I was horrified already. Then they gave her some shots and sent me home. By that night she was very lethargic, and for the next week she was very very ill. Throwing up constantly, she couldn't make it to the litter box in time. She could hardly move. I had to force feed her and give her water to keep her alive and I was very scared she was going to die. For people who are supposed to love animals and want to help them, I very much felt that wasn't the case here. They seemed too rushed and too agitated to be kind. Don't put your animal through that just to save a few bucks. For the rest of my vet services, I took her to the Animal Hospital of Kennewick and they took care of us very well. Friendly staff and very gentle and kind with the animals. The way a vet clinic should be. So worth a little extra cash to see your little companion treated right.

Our 8 year old Papillon mix had her dental cleaning done this past May and she also had to have 2 teeth roots extracted. The pre- opt appointment and blood work went well and the doctor took his time and explained everything. The day of the procedure went very well, the technician came out also took her time explaining what we can expect during recovery. The cost was comparable to other vets. The medication we were sent home with kept our girl comfortable and she recovered with no ill effects. Yesterday we took our 8 month old Chihuahua in to be spayed. We arrived shortly after 8am, the staff member checking her in was amazing. Very nice and took her time to go over the possible charges and estimate. We left feeling that our baby was in the best hands. When it was time to pick her up (we arrived at 3pm on a Friday), we were greeted promptly and had very little wait. You can not beat their spay/neutering cost and there is no compromise in the care you receive. I feel like our puppy received the very best care and treatment and I honestly don't think she could have received any better if we'd gone elsewhere and paid $400 like we were quoted from another vet. Sammie is 7 pound chihuahua, she was spayed and microchipped for around $134. I was a little concerned because about cost after reading some of the negative reviews about added cost, but honestly I can't see them doing this. They were always up front about charges with both our dogs. In my opinion, this clinic offers an affordable service for having your pets fixed. I would recommend them. My only feedback I can give is to the doctor (sorry I'm horrible with names, it's regarding the man vet) first off as I mentioned early, I loved how he took the time to explain everything and was very nice. My only suggestion is to lessen a bit on the hard sell in regards to the preventive medications. Surely it's good to encourage the use of preventative flea and heart worm medication but we kinda felt like we were being guilted if we didn't go with the brands sold by the clinic. LoL it's kinda funny and I hope he doesn't take this the wrong way but he'd be an amazing car salesman! Lmao Final thoughts - if you have an appointment in the afternoon you need to realize that those folks getting seen before you who have no appointment are there for the walk in shots and services. They accidently cut off one horn and lost it inside the belly as these people don't know how (not trained) to use ultrasound. They messed up the procedure and didn't even refund the money. Now 2 months later this kitten is in heat at 10 months of age and will need much more difficult surgery and anesthesia again, as locating the horn when the uterus is removed is much more difficult.
