As I was standing in front of the toilet doing my business, a rat swam up out of the drain. I had heard of this kind of thing happening, but I thought it was an urban legend. Nope. It can really happen. After chasing him down the drain with the toilet bowl brush, and shoving the brush into the drain to keep him away, I went online to see what could be done. Naturally, I turned to Yelp for an exterminator. I learned a few things; first, the rat did not come from the sewer, it came from the roof and down the sewer vent. That is now covered. Second, the rats were attracted to my bird feeder, which is now gone (sadly). Edgar came out and reviewed the entire house with me, showing me where they were getting in and laying out a plan of action that would eradicate them. I am beyond happy with the work he did. It's only been a little over a week and I can already see a huge difference. I did find out that they had made it into the attic, but they are being exterminated as I type this. Edgar is amazing. He knows what he's doing, he is incredibly thorough and he does everything he can to ensure that he doesn't make a mess in the house. He was very knowledge and took his time in explaining how their system worked. He took the time to see if you had any questions and never rushed you in answering your questions. Talking to him you can tell that he really loves the animals and his work. Calling in to report that there was a raccoon in the trap you talk with Mandy the receptionist, she was always pleasant and very mannerable, it seems she always answered the call with a smile :-), and never seemed to be bothered no matter what time you called in a report of a raccoon being caught and needing to be picked up. They never let the animal sit all day in once captured, as soon as you make the call to report that one was captured within an hour or two Chris would come and retrieve him. I always rec'vd a call to let me know when Chris would be arriving at my home. Chris explained that they take them to a reserve and release them so they are safe upon release and away from humans. They offer the traditional tenting which requires you to prep your home and leave for a couple of days or a treatment called DLT (Drywood Liquid Treatment) which is considered safe and does not require any prep or evacuation. We chose DLT which they agreed since there was no evidence that termites had penetrated into our house. There was a slight odor which quickly disappeared. No mess, no clean up, it was great! Since we had termites in the fascia board, they told us to have those boards replaced and to let them know when they've been replaced because they would come out to re-treat those areas. They were true to their word and came back out weeks later to re-treat. They were very professional to deal with.
