The date would be Monday 16th, 2026. I gave a 50% deposit with my credit card $795.00. I was traveling from Central Florida to pick my mom which had recently spent 5 days in the hospital after a bad fall. By the time I arrived at her home she was not feeling well, EMS was called she was taken back to the hospital to be once again admitted to be revaluated and observed; she is 88 years old. At that time, I called the representative Renato Fantini, he said; send him an email explaining this, which I did, and I also sent it to the company at pc@al-flex.com. I called Saturday and spoke to Jessica at the office, and she said she received the email and will give it to the owner on Monday. I called on Monday and spoke to Al junior, owner. I explained the situation and he said; well, you needed to give them 24 hours business days, he also stated he was sending the truck to my mom's house. I said OMG you can't do this, she is in bed now and sick, she came out of the hospital. He said, I will send the truck and take pictures of the truck at your mom for evidence that we were there. I am extremely upset. He took the money and disregarded an elderly senior being in the hospital. At no point did the company perform any tenting services. The cancellation was a result solely from an unforeseen medical emergency involving an elderly citizen. I acted prompt in good faith by notifying the company. The company's position that "two days' notice" was not provided fails to reasonably account for the fact that this was an emergency. I canceled within hours of signing the contract. I provided Friday, Saturday and Sunday and called on Monday. Hospitalization is not voluntary. My 88-year-old mother has been in and out of the hospital. She is ill; and unfortunately, we are in the process of selling.

The appointment was for today (Friday) between 12 and 4:00 p.m. I have had quite a bit of work done on the house over the past year and I have not had anyone who needed a four hour window, but these guys do for some unknown reason. I made the appointment and gave them all the necessary information. On Thursday I turned off my phone for work and after work I go to school. I often don't turn the phone back on until the next day. On Friday I saw that they had left three voicemails confirming my appointment. First of all, a service call does not require a confirmation. I gave them my address. I had agreed upon a ridiculously large window. All they had to do was show up. Again, I have had a lot of work done and I have had close to 20 service people at my house giving me estimates. Not one of them ever confirmed the appointment. Later on I saw they had texted me, confirming my appointment from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. That was not the time I had agreed upon. Either this was a mistake, or they had changed the time of the appointment without checking with me. Either way it looks like incompetence on their part. I waited all day and they never showed up. At 3:00 I texted Javier again and let him know that I had an appointment and asked if he knew what time they planned on getting here. He never replied. The end result is, I wasted an entire day waiting for a company that never showed. I assume it's because I did not confirm the appointment, but I did confirm it. I confirmed it when I made it. That is all the confirmation that any company needs when they have my address. It's not like I can sneak out on them. They know where I live. Instead they chose to be highly unprofessional and simply not show up. This is inexcusable and a poor way to treat a potential customer. Particularly when that customer was brought to you through Yelp. They should have realized that it would end up with a bad review.

Kevin and the team showed up on time and got my house locked up and tented within an hour of arrival. 12 hours later the team came back to take down the tent. They were very quick and efficient. Not at all what I was expecting from a nationally recognized company. I contracted them based solely on name recognition, commercials, ads, etc. and the salesperson (Patrice) was very professional and amiable. However, she did not disclose during our walkthrough that Orkin doesn't actually tent your house, they subcontract it out (in this case to Guardian Termite & Pest Control). There were a few things that I wasn't happy with Guardians crew and how they went about their job. but I'll tell you what my pet peeve... The morning after (the tent was installed on the afternoon the day before), Guardians crew came to take tent off and to air house out. That morning, by the time their crew was set to leave, they were walking in and out of house without personal protection equipment, masks, air tanks, etc (meaning house was clear and I found odd). Yet, my family and I were forced to wait till the following day to be allowed in the house. The following day, I started adding all the red flags together and thought it prudent to text Patrice about the fact that my family and I were checking out of the hotel and in route to our home in the following hour, and that I would appreciate an update on when we would be allowed to enter. That text to her, and subsequent calls to her, to Orkin's Central Office, and that of Guardian's all went to voicemail.. I called at least 25 times that day to different numbers trying to get a physical person on the line to no avail for hours. They did pick up at Orkin Central Office, but after an hour when I called back and they still had no answer for me it looks like they started screening every other call went to voicemail. Meanwhile, my mother who is nearly 80 desperately needed medication inside the house. When homes are tented, they install mechanisms on each entry door into the home, that only they can open, close. when Guardian finally showed up, the team leader said there were 2 reasons we were made to wait outside. One was the fact that when they all showed up to their warehouse in the morning, they had misplaced the machine needed to test the home for the poison levels, so without notifying me, they went on to tent another home (i Was never notified!!). And two was that one of their crew members needed to attend a funeral and so it took them longer to tent the previous home before they were able to come and open up mine. I gave my sympathies, but said I expected more from Orkin. adding insult to injury, Patrice called me a few days later to say that her manager had given her the OK to credit me $242 for one year of additional service as a way to make up for all of the mistakes. I accepted the credit, but told her the money was not the issue, it was how my family and I were treated. Today, I see that Orkin has charged me for the full amount and never gave me the $242 credit.
