I am persistently picky when it comes to environmentally safe products and procedures. When I was trying to decide on how to get rid of ants and some cockroaches that I surprisingly found in one of my rooms, (you don't want to see a picture of me jumping out of my seat when I saw this thing flying towards my bed). Needless to say, I slept with a lights on after reading that cockroaches, love the dark. I was awake most of the night thinking about these pesky critters and took advantage of the time to start to research environmentally safe pest control services. I remembered that I had contacted a company 2 years back and found them again on the website. The name is New Era Pest Control -what I like about this business is that they use some thing called "diatomaceous earth" to get rid of cockroaches, which is organic and environmentally safe -not harmful to pets or people. The owner Monty is always the one that responds to your questions on the website and he immediately sends you a text and confirms the appointment. You do have to pre-pay for the visit. But they are punctual and reliable. When you sign up with them, they will come out on a regular basis to to keep your environment, pest free. Sometimes I wish it was done less frequently, but they come out every two months if you sign up for regular monitoring. But the work is guaranteed. I was able to get an appointment quickly and I was relieved because I would now be able to go to sleep that night with the lights out and not obsessing over a cockroach. Kevin was the one who came out to handle the fumigation, and my son took him around to all the rooms, and everything was done in a professional manner. So I am back to using New Era Pest Control in my home and you should try it out since it really works and is safer for the environment, for your children and for your home. read more

We were having an ant problem in our home but wanted to find a company that you didn't need a contract to work with and was environmentally friendly for pets and kids. This company hit all the marks and was great to work with! Once we established contact, it was easy to schedule an appointment. They were o. time and very responsive throughout the process. Monty and Kevin were great! The service was also very effective as the ants are gone!! We will be working with them again should we need anything in the future. I'm rating my one interaction with this company. If you pay attention, you can learn a lot from a single impression. Here's what I learned: 1) Their automated answering system has been customized, is very upbeat, and efficient. This show they are paying attention to the details of their first impression, and have spent a decent amount of money making it a good one. 2) My call was answered right away with only one button pressed to reach a well spoken, friendly, human being. This suggests that their front of house is reasonably well staffed and managed. 3) New Era doesn't treat drywood termites. The person I spoke to answered the question without equivocation without attempting to make excuses, offer other unnecessary services, or pump me for personal information first. Even better than that was the response I got when I asked if they could recommend a company for termites. "We used to recommend a company, but The Boss no longer feels comfortable recommending them." This answer was transparent, honest, and straight forward. This speaks highly to the culture of the company. I will consider them should I have other issues in the future. One star withheld because WHY YOU NO KILL TERMITES!?!? They are a huge PEST issue in Miami. read more

I have stuck with this company for some years as I could not find a suitable alternative but NO MORE. Yes, they are they inexpensive BUT during the course of the years this is what I experienced. PAYMENT - records are not kept up to date - when I advise them of card change it take several calls for them to log the info in. Also they might charge you a month after service as they catch up on their admin. APPOINTMENTS - They don't advise customers that they can't make their scheduled service. When I call or text there is always an EXCUSE, the truck malfunctioned, we got a flat tire, we had a rescheduling ... the list goes on. THE POINT IS - THEY SHOULD ADVISE THEY'RE NOT COMING. RESCHEDULING "We will reschedule you" that is the text I got this morning - when I asked for a time and date there was NO ANSWER. We were looking for a non- toxic fumigation company as I try to keep my home as chemical free as possible. We also have a baby that crawls all over the house and puts everything in his mouth so this was the most important point to us when choosing a fumigation company. I have been using New Era for the last 6 months and I am very happy with their service. We live next to a canal so bugs and ants always seem to find a way in our home.The owner was very nice and thorough during our initial conversation before I hired them and explained in depth how the products they use are non-toxic. The tech that comes to my house is always friendly, on time, and thorough in the way he exterminates. I am very sensitive to smells and nothing they use has any smell which is great. Some people think because it is non-toxic that it won't work as well as the traditional toxic fumigation products but that is not the case. My house is roach and bug free and on the rare occasion that I find a bug it is always dead. Just recently I had to call them prior to our set bimonthly appointment as we had a new ant problem and they came out and serviced my property for free as I was within their 60 day guarantee. I got recommended this company from a friend for a new ant problem in my condo. I called them on a Thursday and was told they would call me back shortly. Nobody called me. On Monday I called again and was called back by some guy saying he's being doing this for 30 years, talking over me instead of listening to me. He told me he couldn't help me with my ants and that I should just "deal with them" or tell "the maintenance guy to plug up the holes." Well, sir I dont have a maintenance guy, and I don't know where they're coming from. He told me he could charge me $350 to bait them but it would "just make it worse." And that I would have to spend thousands of dollars to seal off my STUDIO APARTMENT from the other units in the building and that he couldn't put anything in the wall because they "don't use toxic chemicals." The tenant NEVER received service and payment was made via paypal to cut out the tenant having to pay. I called and received BS excuses about rescheduling and it never happened. We highly recommend this company! They're extremely punctual and professional. Darren was very informative, kind, and detailed. He moved my stove and fridge to make sure he got all the small spaces. I had a cleaning crew out there and he was patient and worked around them, waiting a few times till they were done with the area. I cannot say enough good things about this company! I called about a year ago, complaining about a roach problem we were having in our yard. I spoke with the owner, Monty, and he was on the phone with me for probably a good 15-20 minutes asking questions about my yard, and ultimately, recommended I defer service until I had my septic tank checked out because he thought the problem might have been coming from there. Well, turns out Monty was right! I got my tank repaired and the roach problem disappeared....for a while. Fast forward to a few months ago and the nasty suckers started showing up again--this time, they were somehow making it inside my house! In a panic, I called Monty again. Now, even though he never ended up servicing our home last year, he still took the time to talk to me for a whileeee (I'm very wordy), and explained about certain things that could be causing this problem. He remained on the phone with me, and asked me to go outside to my tank and check for any holes or tunnels in the ground around the tank (there were two!). He informed me that that was where the filthy beasts were coming out of at night. OMG, I went outside that night and checked and it was SO MANY OF THEM--just forming a conga line out of the holes. Ugh. I feel sick just thinking about it. Anyway, I obviously hired Monty to take care of the problem. One of his guys came and took care of the inside of my house with their all-natural product (even pulled my oven forward and sprayed back there! NOBODY does that!), and sent me a report with specifics on all of the ports of entry I had to repair (e.g, weatherstripping around my windows and doors, sealing the spaces where the pipes come out of under my sinks, etc.). Within 2 days, there were no more roaches to be seen inside my house. It was magical! Since he only does interiors, he recommended someone to come take care of the root of the problem, (the pockets around the tank where these nasties were living) and the exterior guy did an amazing job as well (will be posting a review for him next!). Honestly, if you're having a bug problem, call New Era!! I was literally living in a state of anxiety because of this issue. I HATE bugs. Despise them. Loathe them. I even thought about selling our house because of this issue (I'm super extra-- I know), but thanks to Monty and New Era Pest Control, I finally feel calm and relaxed in my house. I truly feel that this problem wouldn't have been solved without Monty...I've had some of the other big pest control companies in the past, and trust me, they don't pay attention to detail like Monty does--not even close. I really feel like he wants to solve your problem instead of just solving enough to keep you on the hook. Oh! And he doesn't require you to sign a contract!. I think that alone attests to the confidence he has in his product. When a company has not only good customer service, but an excellent product, that's a no-brainer. Have been using New Era for several years now and have been super happy with them. I have 2 dogs, a chicken and an organic (edible) garden and have had no issues with the natural product. There is no smell - at all - and the service techs don't wear a mask while spraying (because they don't need to) - this made me feel super comfortable w/ the product. Every once in a while I find a bug but 99% of the time it is dead :) If I do find a live one, I call and a service tech is sent out to re-treat (no charge); this has happened twice in three years. I have found the monthly service program to be more effective than every other month. I live in Miami, near the water, and my neighbors all complain about bugs. I had been using Terminex but after spotting several live bugs, I became dismayed and decided to give New Era a try. I don't see any difference in product effectiveness; if anything, I think New Era's product is more effective and I like the peace of mind that comes with using a natural product. Cancelled Terminix service after moving to West Kendall area and realizing how much worse the new regional service office was (big statement given how bad they are to begin with). Shopped around with all the franchise operations, but it seemed like each one was worse than the next either on price, service, quality, value, or overall value proposition. I found New Era on Google Maps...right in my back yard...and decided to give them a call based on the unusually positive user reviews there. So glad I did. Monty is unbelievably knowledgeable and passionate about his line of work. As a predominantly family-run operation these guys are very attentive to your needs and make it known that you're not just a number or a Dollar sign. That means a lot. They use environmentally-friendly, plant-based extracts that are not harmful to children or pets (you could literally spray the stuff right into your mouth without hurting yourself). But it seems to be MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE than Terminix ever was in controlling cockroaches, spiders, and ants from getting into the house in the first place. Amazing stuff! Amazing team!
