While touring Billings breweries I had Angry Hank's on my list. I am not too sure why the attitude from one of the beertenders, a young man with dark hair. Some breweries in Billings do pours of beers less than a pint but apparently such a request with him seemed ridiculous and asked if I wanted to drink or not with such a small pour. He did give me what I asked but charged a pint all the same. The positive thing with the front counter experience was free popcorn so that was good. As far as the need to charge me a pint when it was actually made a smaller pour made more sense than the attitude because the computer on the register probably didn't have the option to charge that but the flack I got for it was unnecessary. Well, moving on past that I got the Mexican Lager there, simply called Mexican Lager. This is a favorite Lager type for me and this one wasn't bad. Not really amazing but certainly doable. Flavor features with this lager are bready with a hint of lime. The beer was very light bodied as this lager type tends to be. While I appreciated the free popcorn snack the management should at least consider adding a smaller pour option to their register. And of course certain staff not being too opinionated to customer requests. read more

The staff is very friendly, the beer is great and very reasonable! The atmosphere as well is friendly, highly recommended!

THEY OPEN AT 3. Pretty good beer and good service. Lots of folks were digging the popcorn. Only thing i disliked was no bar seating. Good job overall. read more

This place reminds me of home. We have a lot of breweries in my hometown that are very similar to this - Industrial feel but laid back. This joint is cash only. To keep track of that Montana law (Montana has a rule about taprooms - You can only get serves 3 drinks, I think pints, per night, per brewery.) - Angry Hank's slaps a wristband on you to keep track of how many drinks you've had. The beertender made a comment about $3 a pint of beer was pricey - I damn near spat my drink out. I'm from California so pints of beer are at least double that for craft beer, and most of the time more than that. Bless your heart. Don't ever change, Montana! I thought the beers were pretty solid - I loved the shandy!! read more

So the beer here rocks! The atmosphere is cool. The service stops early and you need to go up to the bar... so that's not great. MT limits your beer at a brewery, so keep that in mind. If service had been available they would be a 5! Great beer! You'll find one you like here! read more

Angry Hank's Micro Brewery - Try a few to find your favorite! - Breweries Near Me - Billings, Montana

Really well crafted beers at a reasonable price. I had the belgian wheat and irish red, and both were great examples of the styles. The hazy was also excellent with a delicious fruity hop aroma, but has a little less of the wheat creaminess than my own hazy (juicy) ales. That is definitely not a complaint just an appreciation of the diversity of the style. It's also 1% lower alcohol than my own hazy beers which is not a bad thing under the circumstances. Ill be back. read more

No-nonsense micro without weird concoctions. I've never been unable to find a good beer. Shelly, Abbey and the rest of the crew always have a smile to share with the great beer. read more

Angry Hank's is a comfortable, fun place to grab a beer. Located within easy walking distance from downtown, Hank's has a great beer menu with a couple of lighter offerings, standard IPAs, etc. Only offer peanuts along with the beer, but have no problem with someone bringing in food. After you walk through the front door, you'll encounter many high top tables. The bar is in the back of the space with a smooth, shiny wooden bar top. Since I visited during COVID, I can't say if there are ever barstools, but I guess there are none even during regular times. Drink up quick because they aren't open late, closing every day at 8pm. In the end, Hank's is a simple environment that achieves its goal of offering great beers to its patrons with a super friendly staff. read more

Finally in our tour around the north we hit a place with real beer. I had the Belgium wheat and the White boy corn bear. You are allowed only to 3 glasses, but if you take out a grawler... that's another story!. You have free pop corn and a nice garage set up to enjoy the beer. BTW, to go here before catching your flight...not such a good idea!. read more

Favorite Micro Brewery in town. Generally a little overcrowded, but that just speaks to how great and universally enjoyed the beers are at Hank's. The converted old service station is a great place to take in a few beers. You're limited to 3, but the alcohol content tends to be high, and 3 is usually plenty. Dirty Girl is a great Dunkelwiezen if it's on tap. The Anger Management is a big hit with wheat beer drinkers, and their Head Trauma IPA is possibly my favorite IPA I've found from any brewery. read more

Great place to have a beer with friends. It is a relaxed atmosphere. The interior is very simple with cement floors, high ceilings, and large space. It is clean and they offer free mixed nuts or popcorn as a snack. The beers were $3. read more

Very cool. Angry Hank's is an oil change joint (think Jiffy Lube) with three bays that has been converted into a tap room. The first bay is filled with the brewing equipment, the rest of the building consists of seating and counter space. They've also built a small patio in front of the building. Montana law limits a tap room's operating hours - Angry Hank's is open from 4-8 Mon-Sat and patrons are limited to three beers. The beer is excellent and is only $3 per pint. A very creative use of the space. If I lived in Billings, I would also live at Angry Hank's! read more

We hit up all of the Billings microbreweries in one day, and I have to say, I was a bit underwhelmed. I had heard about this place from the locals, and it seemed to be on the top of everyone's list. The beer was good, I'd say middle of the road for the area. They let me taste a couple which was nice, but then put a wristband on me and started marking off how many beers I'd had. I found out that you can only have 3 beers in total at Angry Hank's, because they only have a manufacturing license. Not the end of the world, but it's a bit annoying to have them keep track of how much you've drank so stringently. This also felt like a locals only place, as everyone seemed to know each other and just gave off the vibe that we were out of place. It's also very small, so that might have added to the feeling that everyone was looking at us. Overall, it's still a good place to go for some better than average beer. read more

Great tap room. Solid beers all around, all for $3, any time. Their signature (and most popular) beer, Anger Management, is a Belgian Wit true to style. The stronger beers are very smooth, considering the higher alcohol content. They typically have 5-10 beers on tap, all of their own making, and I've liked just about everything I've tried. Be warned that it is crowded most of the time, even earlier in the week. It's a diverse, but friendly crowd. This is my "go-to" place whenever I'm in Billings. I wish we had a place like this in Arizona. read more

I was in Billings again and I had to stop in for my Anger Management Amber fix. Wow... All I can say is, I wish the exported to California. Bravo! Best micro brew I've ever tasted, can't wait to have it again. $3.00 beers? Can't beat it. read more

Great craft beer and extremely reasonable prices. Love coming out here. Parking can be a bit tricky depending on when you go, but that isn't their fault read more

Great atmosphere and delicious local brew with free popcorn! Very affordable and fun vibe.

I love this place! I have yet to have a beer I did not like. They have a regular menu which includes a blonde, a wheat, a red, a brown and an IPA. They also have either two or three seasonals at all times. They have popcorn for free so you can sit and enjoy a beer and some popcorn (made extra excellent if you add popcorn salt and Frank's Red Hot). Best place for a beer! read more

Potential for five stars but I was a little frustrated that every beer I wanted to try here was "at new location". So you open a new location and move all the good brews there? That said the beers I had to settle for we're okay. I have never been to a microbrewery in billings before but this place was alright. Though I have nothing to compare it to. I did love the location in an old service station was pretty cool. read more

Wonderful craft beer joint! Lots of space, good beer and good people. My wife and I stopped here on the recommendation of a local man we met hiking earlier in the day. Very enjoyable afternoon. Bar staff were very knowledgeable and friendly, and the local man saw our car and came in and had a beer with us! Highly recommend stopping in. read more

Two locations and one place to write a review. There needs to be another yelp for the other location so the reviews don't get mixed up. The service here was awesome. I have never been to a state with so many breweries. I love it! With that being said I tried the White, this was good but not as good as the other whites I had from breweries in Belt and Bozeman. The prices were the best though, cheaper than all the other breweries we went to. Had to buy a shirt and that was even cheaper too.. so good on you Angry Hank's. I just don't understand why have two breweries. read more

Best brewery in Billings, although I miss the old Hanks the beer is the same and I'm always happy with it. Fun place to have a quick beer with friends when I have my daughter. Highly recommend their frost killer when it's available. read more

My favorite regular microbrew is Anger Management, especially soothing during the hot days of summer. This past Fall they had a stout with a cappuccino flavor, I never thought I'd enjoy a dark beer as much as I did this one. A line starts to form before the open time of 4pm so get there early to fill your growlers! read more

Angry Hanks is he Place to go in Billings. They have wonderful beer (for only $3 a pint!) and wonderful staff. I stopped in by myself on Christmas Eve to have a few pints, and the staff made me feel at home. They were warm, welcoming, and kind. I will come back every time I am in Billings. read more

They don't do flights because Montana has some annoying law about the number of pints that can be served per person and it's too hard for some breweries to do the math on flights so that's kinda lame, Himmelberger brewing does flights! Also, they don't have half pints so that's also lame. Regarding the beers, they're good. Seasonal beers seem to be the best. IPA was kinda week, the season Pale was better. Staff is okay. We are doing the "Billings brewery tour" so it was worth the stop just to check it out. Sad we didn't get to try all the beers though. read more

Beer not my style, no offense.... give me sour or hoppy! However, great staff and nice setting!

First visit, and was not disappointed. Even on a Wednesday night this place was busy! I tried the Blonde Ale, and wow! Super smooth, showcasing hints of orange and lemon. For $3/pint you will not be dissatisfied! Friendly and efficient crew, great crowd! One thing I noticed was that people were ordering pizza from a nearby pizzeria, and having it delivered to Hanks. If you are hungry... order up with a cool glass of Angry Hanks! read more

Great beer, I like the variety and the ability to fill my Growler and go. I wish the hours would expand though.

Only in town from AZ, cool classic tap room (no grub). The oatmeal stout was great! Will return while in town. Friendly bartender.

They have a new location just a few blocks down the road, it's easy to miss the signs if you aren't sure what you're looking for. Best brown ale I've ever had! Try the dirty girl brown ale. YUM! I came back just to get a growler to take back to Denver. read more
