Ever since I tried this place for the first time about a week ago, I've been dying to go back and try the hot one instead of medium. I finally went today and ordered the hot slider. Wow, was that good! My eyes instantly started watering and it was very hot, but the spice doesn't linger for too long. I will always order hot from now on. Trust me, I'm very curious about the two hotter ones above hot, but I think I'd have to have a death wish to try either one!
Guess I can report that I'm not a fan. The quality of the chicken was quite good - plump, juicy, and tender. Unfortunately, "Mild" was not so mild for my tastebuds. I ended up with a burning mouth, and a runny nose from the level of spice. It even came down to scraping off the skin and spices to try to manage enjoying the center part of the chicken piece. Dear Hubby and I shared the #3 plate, which was one sandwich and one open-faced piece of chicken on a piece of Texas-style toast with a few pickle slices. It also came with a side of fries. We also added a side of rice (mistake - it was extremely bland and tasteless). Cole slaw might have been a better choice, and would have balanced the heat of the chicken. There were zero fountain beverages that I could enjoy. I don't drink caffeinated drinks, and I try to avoid copious amounts of sugar. I had water, and Dear Hubby got some root beer. The fries were quite delicious, and the amount provided was generous. That was a highlight of the meal, plus the dipping sauce for the chicken. The cashier was very friendly, so that was a plus and a good first impression. The interior restaurant space is really odd. They've laid it out so that two-tops are shoved up against one wall, and four-tops are shoved against the opposite wall, with an excessively large open space in the middle of the room. Seems like wasted space to me, and not visually interesting or welcoming. Farther across the room, away from the ordering stand and the kitchen, are several raised counters with barstools. DH and I ended up sitting at the end of one of those counter spots. We noted that there are other chicken spots very close by - Chick Fil-A, Zankou Chicken, Wing Stop, El Pollo Loco, this Angry Chickz place, and a Raising Cane's is going in to the spot previously occupied by Amy's. It's going to be chicken wars on two blocks of Moorpark Road!
Fast Hot and Spicy Chicken!!! So good when you can eat fresh chicken cooked just right and spicy enough to make your lips smack and take a big sippy of soda pop. Truly a magical combination and pure joyful moment. Compared to Jack in the Box across the street Angry Chickz is by far superior in every way. The secret is in the special sauce and tasty coleslaw with pickles that give it that extra flavor enhances with each bite. You keep coming back for more and trying an even more ridiculous spice level combo. Add some melted cheese and you will flip with your favorite French fries. Enjoy thatz crazzzzyyyy Hot Nashville chicken tonight.
If you're craving hot chicken like I was since the last time I went to Tennessee then this is a good place! It's more corporate than mom & pop but their spices are legit. I always get the mild because I'm a whimp but even that has a kick to it and make my nose drip a little. With the #1 you get 2 decent size sandwiches and a side of fries and you can add a drink for two dollars I think. We also get the Hangry fix bowl which always hits the spot but I think it's big enough for two people to share as well. Their meals are very filling. The younger crew has really stepped up their customer service. They are very friendly and the acknowledge you from the moment come in the door to the moment you leave. The restaurant itself is very clean as well as the restroom. And there is plenty of space for large parties inside. And there is also a nice patio sitting outside.
I came back to give this place a second chance. A buddy convinced me to go and I went 1 level down in heat to Medium on an Angry Mac bowl. The change of heat is huge. At "Hot" I felt like I was pepper sprayed in my mouth before someone threw gasoline in my mouth and lit it on fire. The sandwiches were a soggy spicy mess and I just wasn't happy. However at "Medium" I felt like someone sprinkled some Cajun powder on a bowl of Mac, or more like I dipped some Cajun fries in the Mac. There was barely a little kick of heat and everything was cooked nicely. The bowl was tasty and I was happy to be able to taste it this time. The fries were nice and crisp still at the bottom of all that Mac n cheese. Not sure how they were able to do that but they did. The Mac n cheese itself was cheesy gooey goodness, with thick noodles. The chicken mixed in was perfectly cooked and lightly seasoned. Service was fast and friendly, and they made no remark about the milkshake I brought with me as a precaution. I wasn't about to go through the pain I went through the time before. Glad I gave them a second shot to see what the fuss is about. It's definitely the bowls. Well that's this critic's review, until next time, I'll be eating.
Our first time here and boy were we surprised. To preface, my husband enjoys hot level spice just fine. I on the other hand, think Hot Cheetos are spicy lol. My husband ordered the two sliders with slaw, heat level - hot. I ordered the angry Mac, heat level - Medium. We both took one bite of our food and literal flames were coming out of our mouths and ears. Minus the spice the Angry Mac tasted pretty good. So as a PSA: make sure you check your spice levels.
Cute little eatery. My son loved his chicken sandwich and so did I and hubby, it was well prepared not too spicy just the way we like. Service was good.
Tried this place for the first time. I have to say it is good. It is also very rich as it has a lot of cheese and carbs. However, the wild was good. I wouldn't say it was too spicy. Service Was good, ordered through instacart and it was ready when I went to pick it up. I would recommend their food in return again.
Yummmmmmmmm loved the food I got the Mac and cheese with the hot chicken and all the flavors me so well. My only request would be that I wish I would've known to add pickles to this cause then it would've been perfect. I got it without the pickles other than that. Everything else was good. My daughter got the mild slider delicious good service good prices on adding a drink to the combo. Very polite staff quick service.
WOW!! We went looking for the best place to eat the perfect cheat meal, a place where we could really indulge... Angry Chickz hit the SPOT! The amount of beautiful flavor & spice, combined with the crispy textures of the fries and chicken, as well as the gooey mac, unbelievably perfect. I am very impressed with the amazing service we had, and really appreciate the clean and fun atmosphere of the establishment. I can't wait to come back for another cheat meal next week!!
The chicken tenders were slightly less juicy than their other location I've been to, but were still flavorful and tender. I got one tender in medium spice and one tender in hot level of spice. Caution: hot is actually really hot. The tenders on a toast combo came with coleslaw instead of the fries, per my request . Coleslaw was fresh and delicious. The service was good and the location looks nice, with cool wall art and a lot of tables for dining in.

The chicken here is so tasty and juicy, and they do not play about the spice. Landon is the greatest person in the world and let us sample the hottest flavor because the other people in my family believed themselves stronger than gods. I did not feel my lips, let alone body, for the next 30 minutes. Like pure capsaicin straight to my blood. Thank you Landon for saving us from future Pain and Agony. I got the #2 in medium and felt pretty happy with that spice level, we also got the Angry Mac in hot. I could not enjoy the angry Mac until much much after the burn of Angry rubbed off. But man were those good leftovers a few hours later. All amazingly good, and really hit the spice fix, my mouth is watering just remembering it. read more

Well, first time probably the last time. Sorry. Reasons: 1. Sandwich was sloppily assembled 2. It literally fell apart as soon as I picked it up 3. Why are they asking for a tip when the cashier literally touched 2 buttons on a screen. I'm pretty sure I could have done that myself. The chicken was very good but after the second bite I felt like I was eating in a third world country having to pick up slop with my fingers. So, if you know the bun is going to disintegrate why not wrap it up so it can be held without making a huge mess? I would never eat spaghetti with my fingers but that's what it felt like. Now that I think about it, asking for a tip when ordering is a form of extortion, in that if I don't tip my food may be sabotaged. At a restaurant you tip after, not before, see the difference? You never pay a contractor in full up front ... From now on if they ask for a tip in the ordering process I'm just going to leave. read more

The boxes are greasy and the lights kept going out but the chicken tasted good. I got the sliders but i already ate it so I used a picture of my water bottle. also I got the honey packets but they weren't perforated so they took forever to open read more

Tried this place for the first time. I have to say it is good. It is also very rich as it has a lot of cheese and carbs. However, the wild was good. I wouldn't say it was too spicy. Came here for an early quick dinner. I ordered the hangry fix (two chopped tenders over rice, Mac and cheese, with their special sauce), a side of fries and a side of tender over a toasted bread. Let me tell you, for the person who can handle her spicy food, I found their hot level was SOOO HOT already. So please be careful when you make your choice! I really like the inside setup! The restaurant is very open with lots a seating. I would say if I could fix something, it would be that front door. It always slams when another customer comes in the restaurant. Maybe the owner can install a Spring Door Closer? As for the food, this is different from the other spots (David's hot chicken & Burning mouth) because the other competitors don't have rice and the chicken was super tender. The others I feel like I had to chew a lot and with this spot it's almost effortless. Glad I stopped by and grabbed a bit! Definitely returning to try the other dishes! read more

Very disgusted . Might be sick tonight. My son went to drink orange soda, and I noticed some dark black particles (more than 20) MOLD in the drinking fountain nozzle. I brought it up the front counter. And not a word was said. Our family threw away $85 worth of our food and drinks and. Walked out. Not a clean place, who knows what's going on in the kitchen! read more

Tried Angry Chickz and got the Angry Mac Bowl and Angry Fix Bowl--both were flavorful and satisfying. Everything came already mixed together, so no need to shake or toss it yourself--just open and eat. It's a bit on the spicy and salty side, so heads up if you're watching your sodium, but overall the food was tasty and filling. A little messy, but in a way that works. read more

Have been waiting for Angry Chickz and followed their progress and opening date on social media, and it did not disappoint. For their first day and opening day I could not find anything negative to mention-well done staff and management. Line moved quick and didn't really wait long for our order. Food came out hot and very tasty. Staff was on the floor keeping tables clean and checking on customers for satisfaction and I didn't see one unhappy face. Ordered one time on door dash for pickup, was marked as ready for pickup, saw my food given to someone else, asked for my order and the lady said it just came in and told me it would be a 50 minute wait, this was on a Tuesday night and a group of 2 was there. Asked for a refund and was told they would have to contact DoorDash. I came in around 45 minutes after I placed my DoorDash order so there was no reason on why it was not ready. Ordered DoorDash delivery that same night and they forgot my shake after contacting DoorDash the driver said all they were given was the meal. Ordered DoorDash delivery again half a year later and has taken 5 dashers come in and deny the delivery because of the long wait. It's been 40 minutes and they still have not made the order. Or given it to the dasher, proof shown below. read more

My review is based on a take-out experience for a large group order. This was my first time having food from Angry Chickz. The employees were friendly and helpful. We ordered a few varieties of the hot chicken tenders over white bread with pickles. We ordered the country style chicken, mild, and medium. Each heat level of chicken was great! The medium was as spicy as I would want it. If I ordered the next level of heat it would be too spicy for me. The mild was my favorite because it had enough flavor without being too spicy. We also ordered the mac n cheese, fries, and coleslaw. I enjoyed all of it! The coleslaw paired nicely on top of the chicken tenders. Their house sauce was decent, but not my favorite. I would love to come back to Angry Chickz and eat their food fresh and hot in their establishment! I loved the flavor of their hot chicken and look forward to having it again! read more
