Classic and cozy like coming home again - pick your favorite spot indoors or out. The staff helps each other and made me feel like one of their regulars, giving me time to enjoy the breezy patio while getting ready for the road. Classic enchiladas are best in a spicy green sauce, cheesy and comforting alongside beans & rice that are full of flavor. Don't drive too fast or you'll miss it, and this one is worth a stop!

When looking for Mexican food after our arrival in Marfa, Marfa Burrito came up but it's closed for dinner... Angel's is close by and we decided to try it out Yes, we can get great Mexican dishes in California but Tex-Mex is a different beast altogether. Definitely the sauces have more of a punch which is highly appreciated by the two of us. Combo plate and beef / chicken botanas are very different from what we're used to. Mannn, the sauce is awesome and combining the red and green pepper ones makes for tons of flavor. As dessert we had a half order of sopapillas that were sumptuous and delicious..... 9/10 on the food. Service wise, nice staff - it's a simple setup and it worked out fine at the end. Lastly, the place is equally simple and rugged which is fitting for Marfa, Just the right food at the right time for two tired travellers.

Angels may be a bit out of the way but the food was delicious! We were getting into Marfa just after lunch and saw the positive reviews, so decided to give it a try--so glad we did! It did not disappoint! Great burger and fries as well as enchiladas. (Those burgers smell soooo good coming out of the kitchen). Very friendly staff. If I'm ever back in Marfa, I would definitely return.

We celebrated the end of a 2-1/2 day drive from Chicago with a solid meal at this cozy, simple restaurant. My wife had a fajita salad which she enjoyed. I went with the Combo #2 with two enchiladas and a chili relleno--delicious! Service was friendly and our food came out in minutes. Next time, we'll remember that Angels is BYOB.

This is a locally-owned, authentic Mexican restaurant in Marfa with fantastic options. The food reminds me of meals I've had at a dear friend's place. True home style cooking that hits the belly just right. The portions are big and we should have shared a meal. Haha. But who wants to do that?

Well worth the wait!!! Some of the best Mexican food we have ever had in our life. Get the #2 combo. We are still talking about our food and it's been several days since we had it. Plan to come back to Marfa again soon just to be able to eat here.

Great local spot that reminds me a little of the late, great Mandos. Tasty food and friendly service. I love their tacos. It's BYOB and very small so go early for lunch or dinner.

    Breakfast burrito. Yum.

My first visit was today but I'll be back as I live just down the road in Alpine. My breakfast burrito was so very delicious! And the salsa served on the side was very tasty and not too hot - a winning combination. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area.

Getting there, though, felt like stepping backward in time--partly paved roads, weathered buildings, and aging homes that quietly carry the town's long history. Then, almost abruptly, Sentinel Marfa appears as a striking contrast. The building is crisp and modernist, the kind of clean, intentional design you'd expect in a big-city neighborhood, not tucked into a rugged, historic West Texas landscape. Inside, that contrast continues. The high ceilings and open, airy layout give the space a contemporary calm, while scattered tables display local art, newspapers, and small curios that root it firmly in Marfa's creative spirit. A hallway beside the ordering counter leads to a quieter back room, which in turn opens to an outdoor area shaded by a massive oak tree. The place was buzzing, full enough that we ended up sharing a table with another family, which somehow felt fitting in a town like this. Coffee is ordered at the counter, with both staff and baristas displaying some of that West Texas charm and with a smile. Drinks are picked up at the counter while food finds its way to you. The coffee drinks are crafted with beans from Picacho Coffee Roasters. Straight coffee and lattes were exceptional, and the breakfast tacos, made fresh with fluffy eggs, cheese, and potatoes, delivered exactly what we needed. By the time we left, we felt not just caffeinated, but welcomed and ready to explore a place where time seems to move at its own deliberate pace.
