Angel's hand was chosen by the hospital where my mother was admitted to take over her care when she was discharged. The on-premise nurses in her home were very caring, professional and much appreciated. The organization itself did not perform its duties to any level of professional, responsiveness, or what I would call customer service.
Mom was transported home on a Friday and a nurse arrived immediately after. He assessed her and left, stating he would be back in 2 days. No return.
Mom had meds that morning in the hospital but none that night, with the majority of them not arriving till the next evening, which was Saturday. Her insulin did not arrive until Sunday evening. I can't find logic in this huge gap for a women in her late 80's who had been hospitalized for 3 weeks. This is part of Angel's Hand's business.
Two days later (Sunday) I was advised that she was stable and they would be pulling the nurses off and I would need to get a caregiver, with NO time to find an available one. She was NOT stable, she was incredibly weak, could not go to the bathroom or fix food and needed help taking her meds. I do not understand this logic nor their decision. I begged for more coverage and had to do so repeatedly for the next 3-4 days.
It was a nightmare. Oh, and did I mention how many times employees would tell me they would call me back, even giving me a time when, and never hearing back from them?
I spent my career in Customer Service of many types and levels. I would have been fired if this was the way I and my team operated.
Thank God I found an entity that not only met my expectations, but far exceeded them, proactively calling me in a timely manner and showing up when promised and helping me find and in-home caregiver. Life is good without Angel's Hand. read more
