I recently moved back to Sacramento and needed to find a new shop to work on my car. The previous reviews for this place were absolutely spot on! They open at 7:30 a.m., which is super convenient. I arrived at 7:25 and was out by 7:29--still made it to work by 8! I brought my BMW in for a wheel alignment, and the service was excellent. The staff was friendly, professional, and you can tell it's a family owned business that cares about its customers. The price was very reasonable too. After taking my Mini to a mechanic I feared i got the wrong diagnosis. I flagged a guy down who drove a mini cooper and asked him where i should go and he swore by Angelos. I am SO happy I did. Family owned buisness, the brothers and mother are so kind. I have never had a mechanic send me pictures with discriptions of what is wrong with my car. (the problems were completely different from which the first mechanic told me) I have never felt such transperecy and honesty. it was so refreshing. You can choose the order of what issues you want them to work on first, through a text message they sent you. Please take your car to them! WARNING WARNING WARNING: This family consisting of mother and two sons are CROOKS! BMW been there routinely for over one year spending at least 14 cumulative days in their shop. Too many repairs to mention. After replacing injectors on my vehicle, it threw a CEL light. Took it back in the same day and was told the valve cover needed replacement for over $2k. No additional information was provided for why this job needed to be done. I declined and took the vehicle to another shop which informed me that the valve cover was broken and TAPED WITH ELECTRICAL TAPE. (I swear I could not make this up!!!) After confronting Michael about this, he hung up the phone on me. They will hide behind the façade of religion, that they are a small family shop that has been around for 40 years and that they use cameras when doing the work (makes you wonder?) read more

The bad reviews are spot on. Go elsewhere! After we brought our car in for thousands of dollars of work, the engine was smoking. They forgot to connect a hose and we had to have it towed back. Next, the heating system went out. Tried to have them look into this and they refused to admit it might be their issue. We found out from another service repair shop that it definitely WAS their fault - they somehow pushed a rubber cap into the hose they installed to the coolant system, which destroyed the heating system and could have destroyed the engine. It cost us a lot to fix their mistake. The lady at the front desk has no idea what she's talking about. She will be sweet until you question their work and then she shuts down and is rude. She should let you talk to at the tech rather than making assumptions. Do not give these people your business. read more

You can tell these gentlemen love these cars and I had a great conversation with Angelo about potential modifications to mine, several of which he has made to one of his cars. I hadn't spoken to Michael for more than 1 minute on the phone and he already had a great handle on my issue and gave me a preliminary diagnosis. I ran my car in and Gus confirmed that diagnosis and got the parts on the way. I was back up and running in less than 3 hours and for hundreds less than the Dealer would have charged me (I called them as well). I took my Mercedes Sprinter Itasca Navion motor home to Angelo's BMW-Mercedes for service. Of course being a German engine vehicle you can have strange and interesting issues come up that only a German Engineer would never expect. I had such a problem but Angelo's went above and beyond anything I've experienced at an Auto repair and maintenance shop to figure out the problem when the issue was not resolved the first time using the standard procedures and then the Engine light kept coming on. They took it back in and continued to research the problem and issue until it was resolved backing up their service. I've never seen such a hustler like these guys they charged me $380 for recharging my A/C and diagnosing the A/C problem and told me there is nothing wrong with A/C and only refilled it and now it blows warm again so there is leak somewhere and she was trying to change the serpentine belt and pulleis for $600 and I refused that and changed the serpentine belt by $125 somewhere else and there is not anything wrong with pulleis so don't go there at all. read more

Always an absolute pleasure bringing my BMWs into Angelo's. I have a 2012 M5 and a 1988 M3. Hard to find a place that works and specializes in newer and vintage bmws. Their prices are always fair and reasonable. And have never had to come back for any issue that wasn't fixed right the first time. Like many other shops IMO. Love the family atmosphere. And that it's second generation family owned and operated. Adel, Mike aka MINI GURU and Gus, almost certain he's the only one left in the sacramento are that knows vintage BMWs are a fantastic family and I highly recommend bringing your BMW here. My grandpa took his car here for brakes and they said they were only doing brakes. He left the vehicle and when he came back to pick it up they gave him a bill for $1200. He asked what for and they added a bunch of different services. He told them he didn't authorize any of the extra work done and the lady at the counter told him he signed off on it. He asked to see the paperwork where he signed and the paperwork had no signatures on the paperwork. The lady argued and had him pay. He paid it because he felt extremely pressured. On top of it, now he said his car isn't running properly. They reset his computer system, told him he had a leak, etc. This is a perfect example of a business taking advantage of an elderly person. This is absolutely absurd. We will be fighting to get his money reimbursed. read more

I am unable to give zero stars. no work was done on my car. I made an appointment for my mini cooper. i wanted a bit of work done and I called and went over what I wanted with a woman on the telephone. she never gave me her name. We went over all I wanted done, quite a bit actually. We made an appointment to bring it in. When I arrive on opening she asks how she can help me. I remind her of my appointment. She tells me that after our phone call, she wasn't certain Angelo's could help me. I tell her the car is outside if you want to come look things over. She tells me, "we don't do that". I ask her if she or someone can come take a look at what I want. She tells me again, "we don't do that." I didn't know what to make of this so I left to never ever return. I was the only customer in the shop. I am black by the way (can't help, but feel suspicious of racism). So I am in front of Angelo's writing this review. I mean if there are things Angelo's cannot do, that's fine. But with how I was treated For whatever reason they did not want my business. i read reviews about Angelo's and of instead of treating me like family I was treated like a dick. Even if any of the work was too much to handle, there was plenty that any garage could. There were basic things like: rear brake pad change, oil change, help with heat shield, installation of new head and tail lights, a tune up. She refused to offer any services at all. And she did that quite well. Thanks Angelo's for nothing. No wait, you did a great job at wasting my time and offending me. Hi Michael, I was just there. no one looked at my brand new parts. I also needed help with my heat shield. I needed new rear pads (previous put on backwards), I have the top part of the center arm test, would have liked help with the installation as well. I needed an oil and fluid check. I wanted specific parts for my car. I will go down the list now. Everything is brand new Plug and play: Front and rear strut braces (m7 and Megan racing) Headlights, tail lights, side lights (pretty sure you'll have trouble sourcing all of these) Ignition coils and plugs (dynan and ngk) Secondary cat (magnaflow) Coil overs (mono tube) Lug nuts (new) Now the woman made the appointment. I guess she was in charge of getting the information you needed. I came and was told "we don't do that". I asked for someone to take a look at the jobs. She told me, "we don't do that". I never even talked to you Michael. i suppose my feelings were hurt with how I was (am) being treated. Your response blames me For requesting your help and advice. Flashy parts I know, but I drive pretty fast and may want to track the car. Now that we've got that straight, let's end your defensiveness here. I will go somewhere else. I am not being facetious here in apologizing for littering in your parking lot while writing the review. It was very petty of me. Being upset is no excuse. I'm sorry. When I came in, she was on the phone. I waited about 10 minutes for her to tell me what she told me. I went out and sat with my wife in the car and waited. I was definitely NOT helped or listened to. She was not an opening to getting more details. She did not direct me to someone that could talk to me about things. SHE did not help me. NOW you are being defensive about the situation. A beautiful family business who really know what they are doing- Angelo and his sons Michael and Gus in the shop and of course Adel in the office always make sure that my BMW is running perfectly and bring up issues that need to be addressed as well as things that wouldn't necessarily need to be addressed but we should keep an eye on. The pricing is fair, but certainly not cheap as their attention to detail and the work is top notch. I remember my father bringing his BMW here when I was a little kid and I'm so happy that the family tradition has continued. read more

They are excellent! My BMW A/C was working intermittently, and I placed a call to them. Just from the phone they were able to diagnose the potential problem and offered to look at it the next day. VERY kind people in all their communications. I dropped it off in the morning and it was diagnosed and fixed the same day. After an issue with my car and the dealership being too busy to get it in, I was in need of an alternative. With the first place I called I was asked to hold as the lady muffled the phone and yelled "Pa - do we work on Mercedes?" Alright, she may not have actually called him "Pa," it could've been Bill, Billy, Mac or Buddy, but I'm going with Pa. After a few minutes passed, Pa came to the phone and preceded to tell me "I ain't worked on a lot of foreign jobbers, but if you want to bring'er by I'll throw a wrench at'er and we'll see what happens." Pa was even kind enough to offer that if he couldn't "fix'er" that he wouldn't charge me. That is very generous; I wish someone would pay me for not doing my job sometime. Needless to say I passed on Pa's offer and left him to get back to what I'm guessing, was changing the carburetor on a '78 Chevy. After a couple of more unsuccessful calls I found Angelo's, a repair shop that specializes in and only works on BMW and Mercedes. Angelo himself is a mechanic with over thirty years of experience and it only took a minute of speaking to him before I knew my car was in good hands. It seems like nothing is ever cheap when it comes to maintenance or a repair on a Mercedes, but Angelo's is relatively cheaper. I would also commend Angelo and his wife Adele on the great customer service that they provide. When I found myself without a ride to pick my car up, Adele said not to worry and her and Angelo dropped the car off at my house on the eve of Thanksgiving. I will not miss the dealings with the cocky service managers at the pretentious dealership. read more

Mention their website and get 10% off your first time visit. I had my MINI Cooper S in for a 55k mile service and the initial quote was the cheapest I found in the Sacramento area at $650 which included the fuel filter. I found Angelo's Performance Plus when I began searching for a repair for my BMW. The dealerships just kept quoting me VERY high and that I had to leave my car for at least a week! Im a mother and on a very tight budget. The owner's wife, Adel was so nice and had me come in to have Angelo (her husband and main mechanic) take a look. Recently I took my Mercedes in for front struts replacement, after installing, it's started to make noise. I took the car back to tell them, and after testing it they said it's my control arm that is bent and the replacement cost is $4700. So today I took it to Mercedes of Sacramento for a second opinion, only to find out that they installed the struts improperly. So the cost of installing properly is $293. GOOD LORD, almost got taken for a whole lot of money. No thanx to this place. read more

Adele sounds nice, makes you think everything is fine while she is feeding you a load of crap. I had taken my BMW to Angelo's for several years and their work was adequate. I always knew I would end up paying at least a thousand dollars because they would find something extra wrong with the car. But, OK. I could live with that. This last time, we called and said that we were thinking of getting rid of the car so please do an assessment/inspection and see how it is working and what repairs would cost. If it ran much over a thousand, we would opt out of fixing the car. Adele calls back and says the car needs $1200+ of work and will last for many many more miles. It's all that was needed. We decided to have the work done. A week later, the transmission acts up. We take the car back in and they say, we need it replaced. Angelo says that they can't predict what will happen once the car leaves their shop. Well, that is ridiculous. We trusted their expertise and their honesty. They totally ripped us off, and acts like it is no big deal after we have just paid them over $1200. This is no way to run a business. Angelo and Gus are nice guys, but I will never recommend them to anyone again. Adele - well, let's just say, she has two sides to her, and one of them is pretty darn ugly. read more

This review is - embarrassingly - years overdue. I cannot rate Angelo, his wife and son - high enough. It might sound corny, but.............they treated me like family. So nice. So thorough. So good at what they do. I had purchased a used 1999 BMW 540iT wagon from a private party. Soooper kewl car. The guy I bought it from turned me onto Angelo and his family. It was a higher mileage car - remembering 150K or so - and with that, had tickey tack stuff go wrong with it (stuff that happens with older cars). Angelo and crew took care of all the stuff that would come up - at a huge savings relative to dealer prices. Something was not operating correctly with the transmission - a number of months after I owned it. I mentioned it to Angelo. He asked me to leave the car with him. At a substantial cost to him: removal, fix/rebuild, reinstall - and relatively small cost to me (again - versus what dealer would have charged)...............he took care of issue. I ended up trading the car for a pickup truck a little while later and have .............sadly.................never been back to say hello. I always intend to drop off cookies/candy/something around the Holidays, flowers on Mother's Day or ???................but I never do. THEY WERE THAT NICE TO ME. So, hopefully Angelo and crew will see this review and know that they have a lifetime fan.
