This is the worst automotive repair experience. Here is why:
1. Pool workmanship: I will provide 2 examples.
a. Car 1: Brief intermittent increase in RPM for a few times followed by a car stall and towed to Otis. After the car was repaired, on the first drive, we experienced a brief intermittent increase in RPM for a few times followed by a car stall. Did not drive the car more than 10 miles. Of course, we were charged for a different repair the second time. Perhaps this was a coincidence.
b. Car 2: Coolant leak. Fix 1: Radiator was replaced. I brought the car home (1.7 miles away) only to find a pool of coolant on my garage floor. Fix 2: I returned the car to RE-FIX the coolant leak. Fix 3: 62 miles later, the car was leaking coolant again. I took the car to a different mechanic. No issues since then.
2. Unrealistic costs: I was informed that a new radiator for car 2, above, costs $1,200. I bought a new original (OEM) radiator for $238 online.
3. Poor communication: I will provide 4 examples though I could actually write a comedy book on customer service communication.
a. Since I was quoted $1,200 for a new radiator, I asked for the part number so I can find a lower price. Front desk told me that she did not know the part number but they have close relationships with the car part sellers.
b. I searched and found the part but was not sure if I ordered the correct part number. So, when I dropped the car for a radiator replacement, I asked to confirm that I have the correct part because I had a tight window for return. Did I get any feedback? ABSOLUTELY NONE.
c. Have NOT been informed of the cost of repairs and have been misquoted. Here is an example: Received a call that my car was ready but front desk did NOT know the bill amount.
d. Screened calls: Car 1 and Car 2 were at the shop at the same time. Called to find the status but no response. Called back 10 minutes later but no response. Called back 20 minutes later but no response. Immediately, I asked my wife to call using my son's phone because I know that our calls were screened. Front desk picked up the phone of the first ring.
4. Poor customer service: Dropped my car for coolant leak. Picked up the car with a coolant leak. Coolant leak was NEVER repaired. Yes, the radiator was replaced but my car still had a coolant leak. I did not take the car for radiator replacement, I took the car for coolant leak. I expected that when I get the car back, the coolant leak problem to be fixed BUT, to my disappointment, it was not. Expressed my frustration and received NOT EVEN A SINGLE APOLOGY (not even an excuse).
5. Car parts may be missing. I took my car to my regular mechanic, who actually repaired the coolant leak, and ALSO informed my wife that my engine cover is missing. I thought that perhaps it was not there in the fist place and forgot the issue. On January 1st, I opened the hood and discovered that my engine cover is ACTUALLY missing. Apparently, after repairs, the engine cover was not installed (and it is so obvious; the first time that I opened the hood, I realized that this part was missing).
What is shame that I have to write this review. I want to support my Fair Oaks community but I also want others to be aware of my experiences.
I am a VERY disappointed teacher. read more
