The upper radiator hose turned out to be the cause. TrueCare replaced it, alleviating our worries for 2 trips to SoCal and one to Reno(from the Sierra foothills). Then a short trip to our local grocery store turned out to be disastrous. When starting the car for the trip back home, it warned to "Check Coolant Level". By the time the car reached our neighborhood, the Temperature indicator had climbed to the red zone, and the warning changed to flashing red "Turn Off Engine!" When it cooled, I checked under the hood to learn that the previously replaced upper radiator hose had come completely off the radiator connector. I contacted Dave, and made arrangements to have it towed to TrueCare. I informed Dave about the hose, and he ordered a replacement. The hose that had been installed had failed, and was defective. This wasn't an aftermarket part, but an OEM from Mercedes. The good news in all of this, is that Dave stands behind all his work with a 2 year warranty. The replacement was done for NO CHARGE!! The lesson here, is that any part can fail, even a new OEM from Mercedes. When a business stands behind their work with this kind of service, it speaks volumes about their integrity. There's good reason why most every review gives Dave's TrueCare 5 star reviews. They've earned it, along with the trust and confidence his customers give him. It was one of those weeks where you're like, "Anything else God?" Because you feel like you just…read morecan't take anything else going wrong. On Sunday, my 18-year-old Lhasa went to bed and then woke up at midnight with a tummy ache. By Tuesday morning, Otis was gone. Otis died of acute kidney failure at Goldorado Animal Hospital. He had just received a clean bill of health at Airport Pet Clinic in late March. I felt totally blind-sided. On Wednesday, I took Otis to Caring Pet Crematory in Sacramento. Both the hospital and this place were very kind, which meant a lot because I am new to the area. On Thursday, my car wouldn't start. The battery was fried. John was out of town on a work trip so I asked my neighbor for a jump start so I could get to O'Reilly's for a battery. I was shocked how expensive batteries were post-pandemic. Then I was given a list of mechanics to call to install it. I didn't know if they would do it or how much they would charge. Fortunately, Cameron Park Auto was first on my list. At first Debbie couldn't help me so I just went into auto pilot mode. You know, don't take it personally, don't burst into tears, just say thank you, hang up and go down the list. I was leaving a voicemail with another mechanic when Debbie called me back. Debbie said she talked with the mechanic and they found a way to help me. Later, Debbie told me she sensed something was wrong and knew I needed help. I bought the battery at O'Reilly's but before I could drive over to CPA, my car wouldn't start. O'Reilly's has jumper cables so I told Debbie I'll be over as soon as my car started. Debbie said, "Hold on." Next thing I know, Josh brought out a better battery and John installed it at O'Reilly's. I couldn't believe it! I don't know what Debbie said but it was so nice to feel like when your world is coming undone that there are nice people out there who care. After I got my car running, I drove over to CPA and thanked Debbie in person. I wanted her to know I REALLY appreciated her kindness. I am new to this area and hoped Cameron Park Automotive could be my "go to" place when auto work…read morewas outside of my capability (tool)/ equipment), or I lacked the time to perform the work myself. By trade, I am a licensed FAA Airframe/Powerplant mechanic. I researched and brought my 03 Tacoma to the shop for an Air Condition service and front end alignment. YES, 2003 truck w/ 111K miles. Rebecca was professional and knowledgeable with my request. Front end alignment (was completed by Big O) across the parking lot and A/C service w/ Cameron Park Automotive. Short version - A/C service could not be completed because of a bad connector, preventing power to compressor. Cool and understandable. I was advised work could be done for $1,200, but no guarantee the air conditioning issue would be resolved. I declined, and advised I would just come in to pay for the services that were performed. The BIG problem was when I got home and popped the hood, I noticed the low and the high pressure servicing caps missing. I KNOW these caps were installed in their appropriate locations before I brought the truck for service. I immediately called Rebecca, only to be told that it was on me (customer), that the tech said he never removed. I challenged this response only to be told that even though the A/C system was inspected, the missing caps were not identified as missing and therefore my fault because they had no reason to remove. I knew that in order to inspect and view the system for the area I had brought the truck in for, they would have worked on the area of these caps and should have noticed if they were missing and noted it if that was the case. Again, as mentioned earlier, I KNOW these caps were NOT missing prior to my bringing in the truck for service. Mind you, the invoice I received from them for the work completed also has no note of any parts missing. However, Rebecca volunteered to replace w/ kit to match. I drove back to the shop to get the missing caps resolved, and when the tech started to install the new caps they were providing, he then noticed the ORIGINAL caps sitting slightly hidden on the truck's wiper dam. YES, the caps had obviously been removed during service and placed there by whichever tech had worked on my truck and never installed back! The same caps that I was told were "never removed"! As an aviation tech of over 44 years, I could not help thinking: domestic/intl flight over water or mountains @ 35,000 ft and your mechanic fails to tells you that engine parts are missing even after inspecting; and after landing, the response you hear is that your aircraft came in that way so we didn't see the need to install the missing parts because our tech is honest because he said he didn't remove these parts; therefore not necessary to write up, inform, or take any other action! NOT ACCEPTABLE! I had no argument w/ expense or outcome and paid in full - no questions. I am aggravated that I was basically told I was in the wrong and a liar, and that the tech had been the honest one! No apology! FOR SURE I WILL NEVER RETURN and do not appreciate the dishonesty and complacency I experienced.

Mike called me the next day with an estimate. I had concerns that their procedure deviates from the Technical Service Bulletin that I pulled for the car's specific issue, but he thoroughly addressed these concerns professionally. I decided to go with ASU and called the next week to book and appointment for the following day. They took care of it and Mike answered post-procedure questions. He showed me where the location in-line filter, which was in a hard to access space, and a sample of the drained fluid. Now my minivan is driving great and the transmission shifting smoothly. His Office Manager, I think his wife, was great too and took a request from me for an estimate for work on another car.

We love this car. It was recently at the dealership for a new thermostat. While there, the techs discovered that we had a small nail in the right rear Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tire, and they offered to sell us a new tire for $450. I was visiting Big O to get a new set of tire pressure sensors in my new to me 2017 Ford Focus Rallye Sport, and I mentioned the situation to Noah. He looked it up and informed me that the tires, which I bought from him, were still under warranty, and that Big O would either repair or replace the tire for free. I called Noah at 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon to see about making an appointment. His response was that I could come down to the shop and he would handle it right now. No appointment, Saturday afternoon, and he made it happen. The job was done in just a few minutes. I really appreciated the detailed print out I was given showing each part of the auto that was inspected. Each auto part was highlighted by a green, yellow or red dot indicating exactly what was working, working but in a stage of needing fixing down the road (no pun intended), and that which was not working and subsequently fixed.
