    Hot chocolate

The perfect warm treat after a windy trip to Versailles! Upon waiting in line, the waiter will ask if you are going to the Tea Room or just having snacks. We went to the Tea Room because we were hungry - the room is very quiet despite the tables being full. I still had to indulge with the €8 hot chocolate and it did not disappoint - the cream was surprisingly not sweet but cold and perfect in the thick, rich hot chocolate. I could not finish it as I wanted to save some space for the Croque Monsieur - it was not as heavy as I thought it would be but definitely cheesy and delicious! I'm glad this was served with a lightly dressed side salad.

After walking around in the palace of Versailles, they have an Angelina inside the grounds so you can enjoy one of the most famous pastry places of them all. They have a chocolate drink that many people enjoy and I did order that with three bakery items. I would say for the chocolate drink was too chocolatey for me but I can understand why many people enjoy this cup. I did though buy some chocolates at the store as gifts because the boxes were cute. Bought them as gifts to bring home.

After touring the Palace of Versailles, we took a break and had late lunch at the Angelina inside the Palace. This is a chain of high end pastries and hot chocolate and light food offerings. Now I can say I have dined in a the King of France's palace! Service was ok. Sandwiches had the crusts cut off and toasted. Desserts were fantastic. Hot chocolate was thick and deep. Credit card only, no cash accepted at the time we went.

As we ended our tour in the main Château Versailles we spotted an Angelina Paris café in one of the corners of the palace and without a doubt we knew we had to have lunch inside the palace, duh. We were greeted by the wonderful staff at the entrance and seated immediately in one of the private rooms occupied by the famous chain with views of the entrance to Versailles. Our server was friendly and spoke a little English which helped us a lot and we appreciated his efforts very much as we feel he appreciated our efforts to speak French. We ordered a coke, sparkling water, club sandwich which had layers of flavour, even came with hardboiled egg, and fish with veggies and a delicious cream based sauce to dress the fish. All of the food was delicious, undoubtedly a great addition to the visit at Château Versailles. Definitely recommend it!

After our bike tour at Versailles we ended the day here for some tasty desserts! Angelina is a popular spot, and this time was no exception. The wait time was fair as it was later in the afternoon when we visited this location. My husband and I found ourselves contemplating what to order because everything looked delicious! It was really hard to choose, so we decided to try a little bit of everything! I was in this macaron craze where I had to try all the must try macaron shops and so I had to try all the different flavors from Angelina. We got there famous Le Mont-Blanc which was exquisitely delicious and worth about €10. We also tried the Vanilla eclair with white chocolate filling and I actually liked the fact that it wasn't too sweet for my taste buds! I highly recommend a visit at one of its locations while in Paris! You will not be disappointed!

This Angelina is located in the back at the Petit Trianon. It's outdoor seating only and first come first serve. You order at the counter and get your food there. The only option for hot cocoa is in the to-go cup, there is no dining service. When I got here early afternoon, they were completely out of the salads and only a few sandwiches remained. They have about five or so varieties and I think a lox sandwich was one of them although I can't recall. We ordered the ham and cheese baguette to share, a mont blanc to share, and two hot cocoas, to not share (I don't share chocolate). I was a little disappointed I didn't see any whipped cream - I really wanted the full experience but had already exited the palace and would have had to wait in line again to the to the Angeline restaurant (with dining service). The sandwich was pretty standard, bread was nice and chewy. The month blanc though, OMG it was so good! I've tried Laduree's mont blanc which does not compare at all. Angelina's mont blanc is less sweet, a lot more dense (a little like natural peanut butter where it slightly glues your mouth together) and has a much stronger chestnut aroma. Underneath this mound of chestnut deliciousness is whipped cream, all atop a meringue cookie. I had to fight mom off of this one. We agreed next time, we were not sharing. The hot cocoa was divine! It's "drinking chocolate" and not really hot cocoa as we know it in the U.S. I think they add just enough milk to melted chocolate to make it fluid... I'm pretty sure the ratio is a high percentage of chocolate and low percentage of liquid/milk. I drank mine and finished my mom's. And then I was full. Like really full. But it was damn worth it.

Your experience may be different than mines. My hot Chocolate was gritty and had a burnt taste. I got the breakfast stater or small plate what ever it's called. My pan de Chocolate was equivalent to something I would get in the states only thing flake abt it was absolutely nothing my bread was hard and very cold not Paris like the best thing I had was the orange juice that was deliver to my table by mistake. That oj was life

I wasn't impressed by the hot chocolate or chestnut pastry, which are their bestsellers but we did hungrily devour a ham baguette :)

Great place to stop by if you're walking around Versailles. The seating is all outdoors. It's a small shop with some pastries, a few selections of hot drinks, and some baguettes. It is not like the other stops and the choices are pretty limited. We of course had to get the Mont-Blanc for 7.30€ which was more than enough to share for 2 of us. The Mont-Blanc was delicious. I liked the texture of the chestnut on top - maybe because the texture is very similar to some of the Chinese pastries I've grown up with. I love sweets and didn't think it was too sweet at all, but I know of others who have tried it and thought otherwise. We also ordered a baguette to share which was plain and nothing worth noting. I would recommend checking out their other locations with actual tea rooms instead of this one.

The service was very good! Wine was the same price as soft drink. Ordered chicken and sea bass, the grilled sea bass was very good!

The desserts look huge on the picture compared to real life. You need a magnifying glass to see them.

The mushroom truffle Ravioli is perfection. The whole dish! Service was great. Really busy but fast service overall.
