I'm so pleased with Dr. Chow and her staff. Everyone is so friendly welcoming. My son had a procedure a few years ago and Dr. Chow was extremely patient, and sweet with my son. She even called me personally a few days later to check on him. Today my daughter had some teeth extracted, my daughter was extremely nervous and emotional, again Dr. Chow was so loving, patient and gentle. She explains everything that is happening and gives kid friendly examples to make them feel at ease. Her assistant was extremely sweet with my daughter also, holding her hand and rubbing her arm for comfort. I would highly recommend her practice to anyone. She's honest and respectful. read more

Do not go here. My Son had a crown placed less than a month ago, he complained to the Dr that the crown felt loose and she told him that it is normal. The crown fell out and they wanted to charge me for an "exam and xrays" but not to re-glue the crown. I argued that I already paid for the exam and xrays when the initial work was done, and that any dentist I have ever been to will normally fix a crown for free up to 5 years. They still wanted to charge me. I called another dentist and told them what happened and they even told me if they had placed the crown originally they would replace it free up to five years. Go somewhere that stands behind their work, and doesn't try to charge you for their mistakes. FYI the manager seriously needs to work on her people skills and deescalating problems. read more

Amazing care! My son struggles with anxiety and it was so hard to get him to the dentist, we started coming here and things changed he is no longer scared only down side he doesn't want to go to any other dentist. Dr.Chow is incredibly sweet and cares for the kids. We are so happy to have been referred here! Also, the front office is really friendly and nice. Both of my boys had a great experience with Dr. Chow! She is such a nice person and all her staff are friendly. They have a nice waiting area with water available and an area where kids can play. She really knows how to work with children. My boys were relaxed and comfortable which completely surprised me! She gives out goodie bags with new toothbrushes and toothpaste after every cleaning. My kids love going to see Dr. Angela! The office is beautiful and spacious with plenty of toys and tvs to keep the little ones busy and distracted. Dr. Angela is AMAZING with kids and takes the time to explain everything she is doing. My 4 year old actually gets excited when its time to visit the dentist even when my nephew received treatment he never even realized he was given a shot which is as awesome as it gets. not sure what happened to this office but definitely not the same anymore! Staff in the back not the same as 6 months ago. Dr pushed for panoramic scan even though my daughter still very young just to charge the insurance. And only took 4 x-rays but charged my insurance for more than that. Very sad about it! We love Dr. Chow and all of her staff. My two boys have been coming here since they were 18 months old. They are now 8 and 7. She does an amazing job with explaining everything to the kids and works as fast as possible to get as much done in one visit knowing that kids can get squirmy. The staff is very friendly and the front office always does a good job of checking with my insurance before any major procedure and going over any costs with me before anything gets done. My boys are so comfortable with Dr. Chow and her staff. The office is clean and you can tell she really cares for her patients, workers and office. I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Chow and staff. I can't believe no one else posted a positive unfiltered review. I've been taking my kids to her for about a year now. All appointments were great positive experiences for my kids. In regards to negative review, all procedures but preventive dental care has a copay. I too have a PPO with great options and benefits but understand certain procedures require a small co pay. There nitrous charge is a lot less than other pediatric dentist's I've been too. Well, it must have been a bad day for the yelp reviewer and office staff that particular day, so don't let that negative review miss the opportunity to give your child a truly caring pediatric dentist. Here is a summary of the great things about this practice: - Facility looks new, modern and very clean. It has magazines and toys/books for the children. All the latest dental equipment and a TV for your child to watch while getting work on. -Open from Monday to Saturday. One time, Dr. Chow was very flexible with her own schedule when my son needed emergency same day dental work. -Dr. Chow treats my three kids, ages 4, 8, 15, like there were her own. She is very patient, caring, and knows how to gently and tactfully administer the not so nice shot or drill. And your allowed to sit right next to your child during the whole procedure. -She graduated from Colombia University specializing in pediatric dentistry. Lastly, she is a true professional and goes out of her way for the kids and I definitely recommend going to her. read more

This Dental office is awesome and I wish that they weren't only a pediatric office because who wouldn't want their teeth cleaned while they are watching TV? My sons and daughter like it here, the staff make it fun and easy for them and speak in their language. Dr. Angela has an enormous amount of patience (I seriously don't know how she does it). This is pretty much my love letter to Dr. Chow and her staff. We've been going here for at least 3 years. Not only is the staff patient and kind with my kids (one of which who has high anxiety and has special needs), Dr. Chow is basically a kid whisperer. She is beyond patient and always seems to know exactly what to say, even when one of my children is uncooperative. I've asked her opinion on a couple of procedures (such as extraction) and she's either suggested to give the baby teeth more time or suggested an alternative option. And, when my son had to have two procedures involving local anesthesia, she helped him pull through it without a hitch -- or hysterics. After having a bad experience with one dentist who was basically drilling for dollars and having to leave another dentist who only used an anesthesiologist who doesn't take insurance, our kids' teeth have found a home with Dr. Chow. The problem with this place is that they probably won't be around very long. It's a beautiful office, with state of the art equipment. However, the dentists and assistants are soooo laxidasical...even my teenage daughter picked up on the fact that they really really really didn't care about what she was telling them... and they turned down $300+ in insurance payments and a good regular patient because I was $15 short on a $35 co-pay one day... We have a great dental PPO insurance and we can go anywhere we want - we thought we'd try this one out. First and most obvious problem: The lady at the front desk (the older one) can't stop talking. She's nice enough, but she is so random. Seriously! I know way too much about this lady...her kids, where she shops..ugh just let people sit and wait in the waiting room - we don't come to the dentist to converse with people. So anyway, we got my daughter x-rays, exam and cleaning, and a couple of sealants,and my insurance covered it all (about $250). My daughter was found to have a cavity - so we made an appointment for this. Nobody at the office told me I had a share of cost for this - so I showed up at the appointment somewhat unprepared. I had $20 with me and the share of cost was $35. I told the front office lady (Ms. Talkative) that I could give her $20 and bring the other $15 in a couple of days. She said no, but that she would check. She then proceeded to tell me about the higher prices if my daughter got laughing gas (more money, more share of cost). I told her my daughter would probably need the gas, but regardless, if the share of cost is more than $20 on THAT day, I would have to reschedule. Well, Ms. Blabbermouth went back to talk to my daughter about it...why??? She established that my daughter did not need the laughing gas, but why did that matter? I still didn't have the full co-pay with me (for the price WITHOUT the laughing gas)... Maybe she thought my daughter would pressure me to pull the additional $15 out of my ass? Crazy lady. So, instead of billing the insurance for the filling and taking $20 that day and $15 two days later, they got NOTHING. Great business sense people..... We won't be back. We found a place that is easier to tolerate. read more

I just took my 2 kids to see Dr. Chow today for their first dental visit and it was a great experience! The office is VERY clean and organized, so organized that our appointment was only 40 minutes- and that included the wait time! The staff is warm and welcoming and Dr. Chow explained everything she was going to do in "kid talk" which put my children at ease. There was Disney decor everywhere and each chair in the office has television screens where movies play while they kids get their teeth cleaned. All in all, Dr. Chow and her staff are wonderful and I highly recommend this office for all of your pediatric dental needs! read more

Insurance was billed for services not received and the care plan was inadequate. Proceed with caution when getting dental work beyond a cleaning, and cross reference the office bill with your healthcare insurance records. We were charged for services upfront and did not receive an automatic refund or contact from this office months after the charge and when services weren't performed. Services charge to our insurance were also "emergency" care with multiple series of dental X-rays (in the period of 4 days). Our insurance was billed for 4 days of services, when we physically went in only 3 times and the last time was a follow up to a crown procedure their dentist performed that our 3 year old complained of pain after completed. We learned the later the area treated by this office was infected and the crown required a complete removal and replacement. Following up, we received 3 additional dental recommendations that argued against the aggressive care that was given by the office. We put trust into these professionals and were talked in circles rather than given support for what was best for their young patient. read more

I was determined that my 3 year old's first dental visit be a positive experience, so I made numerous phone calls and read various reviews on different pediatric dentists. Since I didn't know anyone with actual first-hand experience, I felt a bit tentative making the appointment with their office but I would have felt that way with any dentist for the first time. Fortunately, my apprehension was unnecessary. The visit was intentionally scheduled for a Tuesday, as suggested by the lady who made the appointment so that her first visit wouldn't be on a busy day, and that the doctor could spend the appropriate amount of time with my child. Parking was easy, there was only one other patient when we arrived, sign in/up took less than 5 minutes and my daughter (who hadn't yet had her nap that day) happily waited while watching a kid's movie on their waiting room TV. Everyone was helpful and friendly, no problems at all. The part that I truly appreciate is that, during the x-rays, checkup, and cleaning, Dr. Angela and Andrea were both very good at explaining each step to my daughter before they did anything and even let her touch some things. My daughter was very relaxed and actually enjoyed the visit (which means I did too!!!). This place is definitely a keeper, we've already scheduled her next appointment. read more

I just had the worst experience with this office. Every single employee that works there doesn't seem to know what they are doing. Do not go here!! My daughter was seen about a month ago by the Dr. Chow, who seems like a good dentist, and was recommended to be put under anesthesia for her treatment. After her appointment, I had to call several times to give my daughter's health insurance information and was even misinformed by Andrea to call the anesthesiologist directly to provide my health insurance. This was strange and a big waste of time to hear from the anesthesiologist that the dental office should be taking the insurance info themselves. So, I notified the office and spoke with Andrea again and was never given an apology. She told me it was a misunderstanding on my part and she would send the insurance herself. 3 weeks later, I called because I didn't hear back and and was told they still have not received a response from insurance because my insurance only accepts requests via mail and it may take longer than usual. So, I called my insurance and was told they receive requests via email or fax only and have not received a request from my dentist. After hearing this I immediately called the office and asked to speak with the office manager. Marina answered and advised me that the dentist, Dr. Chow, would call me later that day. I told her how upset I was and how my daughter is now in pain since she has not been treated, still no apology. Later that day I received a call from Marina, not the doctor, indicating she followed up with the insurance and will need to wait for a response. Also, she stated I can pay out of pocket for my daughters treatment if she really needs it now. RIDICULOUS! I could not believe this. Never in my life I have dealt with such horrible service! read more

We love Dr Chow, though it seems like depending on when you go the type of competent staff you get (but that's the same gripe of have the the physicians office ) We have been going to her for about 7yrs . She's great with kids and answers your questions roll when asked. She will make suggestive procedures that aren't necessary but good idea for example sealants is not a mandatory procedure and some ins don't cover it completely but if you can afford it it's an extra layer of protection for your teeth. Otherwise make sure to take care of your teeth. My daughter will need braces and we've known that for a couple years now. We have discussed options and some parents would have been ok with putting the braces on as soon as there was a problem or wait until kids mouth is done growing and she's supportive with either choice. Our family won't wait until my in her teens but we are waiting for the right time based on incoming teeth. My 2yr old son who won't sit still for anyone sat through and examination and a cleaning like a champ! The office and supplies appear to be clean and well kept. Always ask for their latest autoclave (sterilization) certificate for extra price of mind. read more

My little sister needed 2 cavities to be filled and was very nervous about getting a shot in her mouth, but luckily Dr. Chow explained that she has a laser machine called "waterlase" that would allow her to take care of the cavities without a shot or any pain. That immediately put my sister at ease and she was able to go through with the procedure without any problems. I am very impressed with the fact that her machine allows for little ones to get their cavities treated without the need of a shot which is the main reason most kids fear dental treatment. I was also very impressed with Dr. Chow's patience and the way she put my sister at ease. I'm very pleased with our visit and we will continue to see Dr. Chow for my sister's regular cleanings. read more

Ugh. I do not like this place. Here are some specific reasons why: - They do a horrible, horrible job of explaining the justification for various procedures. For example, they'll ask if you'd like your child to have X with his procedure, for an additional $75 (I'm just making up the numbers). So you decline, since they've given you no reason whatsoever to believe that X is valuable or helpful. Only after you've declined do they say, "Oh, this is actually really important to prevent Y, and your insurance will probably cover it." Well, great--but why on Earth didn't you mention that in the first place? I have never been anywhere where the staff were so friendly but still managed to be so unhelpful, by simply withholding necessary information. - I once called and said that my son had an appointment with Dr. Chow that needed to be rescheduled. At first, the receptionist said that Dr. Chow was busy doing a procedure and I would have to call back. I said, "Really, just to schedule an appointment? Can't you do that?" At which point the receptionist caught up with reality and said that yes, she could reschedule the appointment, and when would we like to come? Heaven knows what kind of run-around I might have ended up with if I hadn't reminded her of her job. - Dr. Chow once offered to do an expensive repair job on one of my son's baby teeth. It wasn't a root canal or anything, he didn't have a cavity, just a tiny chip off one of the corners, strictly cosmetic. And it was a tooth he was set to lose in about four months. Naturally, I turned her down. She asked with a sort of hopeful tone that gave me the sense that she was fishing and she knew it. With all of the above, I feel like I have to be on my guard every time I go in or even call. I have no confidence in anyone there to do their job correctly or volunteer enough information for me to make informed decisions. Every interaction with them is--pardon the expression--like pulling teeth. read more

The place is great and the Dentist is awesome too..The only problem with this office is the front office older lady..She is very aggressive and very rude..My child had insurance at the time and I knew it would cover the xrays she still made me pay for them and gave me attitude over the phone and in person. The very first time I took my son here was about two years ago for a molar cavity they did everything in their power to make sure my son was comfortable we were cash customers everything went great about a week ago I noticed in my sons mouth that he had another cavity first thing I thought of was to go back to this place. Because of how awesome it was the first time we came so I schedule an appointment for today June 14 at 1 PM over the phone I had explain to the lady at the front counter that he has been complaining of a stomach ache and had a fever for the past few days she gave me a ton of information super informative but also told me that their schedule is very busy this week due to school being out which is completely understandable we showed up to the appointment today they told us that we were only able to take x-rays which was not exclaimed over the phone and like I said my son has a bad cavity so the lady at the front desk explain to us numerous times that they were not able to help us unless they did an x-ray which is fine but then they told us that they couldn't do anything else after they take the x-ray so what's the point!!!!! My son is in pain like I have told her numerous times over the phone and she said sorry we don't have time! So then a man from the back walks to the front desk and says I'm sorry let me go ahead and re-explain everything to you and he read explains everything that the lady had just explain to us we're not stupid we understand but what you guys didn't understand is that my son is in pain and he has a big cavity and he needs to be seen by the dentist you guys obviously had time to put him down for a 1 o'clock appointment I'm assuming you give everybody a 30 minute slot that is enough time, so then we say OK well I guess we'll just have to try and find another dentist and the man says yeah I think you should find somebody else!!! At this point we are so upset we end up believing you just lost another client ! Very unprofessional Very horrible customer service!!! Take your kiddos else where people! read more

I happened upon Dr.Angela online, explored her website and figured we would try her, given her impressive credentials. I'm so happy we did! Her office is new, clean and nicely tailored for the little people. She has toys in the waiting room, kids can watch movies while getting teeth cleaned and in the xray room, and she lets them select a toy from the goodie basket at each visit. But more importantly, she is professional, makes you feel like she has all the time in the world for any questions, and has great skills with kids to be able to get them to open up and submit to an exam and cleaning. I was referred to Dr. Chow from my family dentist because my 6 year old had a bad cavity that required a crown. She was in a lot of pain and they were able to take us the same day. We had a great experience here. The staff is caring and friendly (and yes, a little talkative, but it didn't bother me), the facility is clean and the equipment is state of the art. But most importantly is the dentist. Dr. Angela is competent, gentle and kind. We have been back three times and my daughter had a total of 2 crowns and 3 cavities filled, full x-rays, cleaning and sealants without any trauma. The doctor is comfortable with parents being in the room during procedures which made all the difference in the world for both myself and my daughter. They were very up front with me about what I would have to pay for and what my insurance covered, which I really appreciated and they worked hard to make sure I was getting all the benefit from my insurance that I could and that I understood everything. I simply will not be taking my children anywhere else. Dr. Angela is hands down the best pediatric dentist in the area. She has impressive training and credentials and is truly caring.
