For the past 10 years, he experienced neuropathy on all limbs, dizziness, headaches, etc. We saw all types of doctors to figure out what was going on - cardiologist, neurologist, and pulmonologist. He got numerous X-rays and MRIs. He even had fusion surgery done on his neck because we thought the cause was due to a budging disc - that didn't do anything. We were also patients of Blue House at the time. Due to a change of insurance, we switched to Renov Dental Group. On the very first visit, Dr. Yi pointed out something unusual on the Xray. She referred my husband to Dr. Gray who further identified issues with my husband's narrow airway (result of lower jaw surgery in his earlier years). My husband ended up having jaw surgery again. It's been 6 weeks and a lot of the symptoms he suffered in the last 10 years appear to have subside. Out of all the specialists we saw, Dr. Yi was the one who identified the root that no one else was able to. We are so thankful and grateful to her. She is truly talented in her craft, diligent, and has genuine compassion.

They were apologetic about the issue and were helpful in addressing the reason I called to begin with. I did in fact have an appointment that I went to and was beyond satisfied with that visit and subsequent visits. So, if by some fluke you have any issue call and talk to Marissa she is amazing. ********************** In the past I've had fairly extensive and expensive dental work done at this location. ( Dr. John was amazing) Last night I scheduled an appointment online called today to see if I could get in sooner and was told by Charmaine that I don't have an appointment. After confirming the location and dentist was told there is no appointment she could see so i should just secure it if I see it online. A little frustrated because- 1. Im in pain 2. Im being told there no appointment and being told when my last visit was because somehow that relevant to today's conversation. 3. Even after confirming the details of the two emails I have I have zero confidence that if I show up Tuesday they will help me. Doesn't seem crazy reading it but the tone of the employee was rude, unhelpful and patronizing. The hanging up part while I was still talking was just a bonus.

Extremely disappointed with how this office handled my situation which changed my opinion of a…read morepractice I had previously trusted. I was an established patient who had already undergone a procedure, had additional appointments scheduled, and planned to continue treatment, including a future dental implant. My stay plate broke, leaving me with a missing front tooth. I looking to get a replacement as quickly as possible so I could return to work. However, I was told the replacement could take approximately a week and a half, although they couldn't confirm until midweek. Given the possibility of being without my front tooth for several days, I asked whether the doctor could provide a work note for my employer. I explained that I was extremely uncomfortable returning to work with a missing front tooth and wanted documentation while awaiting the replacement. Abigail, the front office staff member assisting me, consulted with Dr. Joyce Choi and returned to inform me that the doctor would NOT provide a work note because no surgery had been performed during that appointment. I was genuinely surprised and asked for clarification, but received essentially the same response and an apology. What disappointed me most was not simply that my request for a work note was denied. It was the overall lack of understanding and support for the situation I was facing. I was dealing with an unexpected dental problem that affected my confidence and comfort in returning to work, and I was trying to find a reasonable way to manage the situation while waiting for my replacement stay plate. Even if the doctor felt unable to provide a note, I would have appreciated a more compassionate conversation, or some effort to help me navigate the situation. A little understanding and consideration at that point could have made a significant difference in how I felt about this practice. Instead, I left feeling unsupported, and what happened afterward only reinforced that feeling. Feeling unsupported, I requested a refund for the replacement stay plate and asked that the lab order be canceled. The office agreed to issue a refund, and I decided to seek future treatment elsewhere. Unfortunately, what began as a disappointing interaction over a work note became a bigger issue because of how things unfolded afterward. After leaving, I realized I hadn't gotten the names of the staff members involved. While sitting outside the office, I called several times, but my calls initially went unanswered, despite no patients appearing to be waiting at the front desk. When someone finally answered, I obtained their names and discussed the refund. We agreed that I would receive a follow-up call the next morning. Shortly afterward, I discovered I had accidentally left my broken stay plate at the office. I repeatedly called to arrange its retrieval, but my calls went unanswered and directly to automated voicemail. This was before 5:00 p.m., while the office was still supposed to be open. Eventually, I was left on hold until the office closed, without receiving the assistance I needed. At this point I felt a noticeable change in communication and the timing left me feeling that once I was no longer moving forward with treatment, my concerns were no longer a priority. This was what ultimately damaged my trust in the practice--not simply the initial refusal, but the lack of support, empathy , and communication that followed. Unfortunately, I expected better. I subsequently contacted another dental office where I had already begun establishing care. Their response was immediate, understanding, and accommodating. They expressed surprise at my experience with this office and were willing to help me. The contrast in patient care was significant and reinforced how important it is to have a provider who makes patients feel heard and supported. How a practice communicates, handles concerns, and treats patients when something goes wrong is just as important as collecting payment. I had every intention of continuing my dental care here, including my planned implant treatment, but this experience changed that completely and I have decided to take my future business elsewhere.

I always leave confident that my teeth are in great hands. One thing I always appreciate how accommodating they are when it comes to insurance and pricing. I appreciate the discounts they offer which makes a huge difference for me and my family. It's clear they care about making quality dental care affortable and accesible. They've helped me undestand my insurance options and always been transparent about costs, which gives me a peace of mind. What's even more impressive is how great they are with kids. I bring my younger children to Claremont Smile Design and they absolutely love it! The staff and Dr.Jaquez have a way of making the entire experience fun and stress-free for them. My recent experience trying to get care for my son has been beyond frustrating and deeply concerning. My son is in pain and needs his wisdom teeth removed. I spoke to Silvia, the office manager, who assured me she would contact our insurance and provide an estimate. Days later, she emailed me a quote that raised red flags. When I checked the exact procedure codes on my insurance company's website, I discovered she was charging the full 70%--which is what insurance is supposed to pay--directly to me, the patient. This made it seem like they were billing both me and the insurance the same amount, potentially engaging in double-dipping. When I called the Glendora office to get clarity, the staff said I had to speak with Silvia. She wasn't in, but the front desk casually explained that "this is just the price we feel like charging," and if insurance pays more, they'll refund the patient. That's not how transparent billing or honest medical practice should work. I tried contacting Silvia again, this time at their Claremont Smiles office. Not only was she evasive, but when asked to explain the pricing, she suddenly claimed she needed to speak to the regional manager, Ariana. I reminded her that she is the office manager--yet she couldn't answer a basic question and delayed the conversation for another week. When she finally responded via email, she said my son needed to come in person for an estimate--over a week after I originally reached out and after acknowledging my son's pain. I asked to see the billing breakdown from my husband's previous oral surgery (also done at this office) to compare. My husband was sitting next to me and verbally authorized Silvia to speak to me. She refused to proceed unless he repeated a very specific sentence she demanded, even though I had already explained the request clearly. Once again, she deflected responsibility to Ariana, and when I asked for Ariana's contact information, Silvia hung up on me. The lack of professionalism, the runaround, and the shady billing practices are unacceptable. I will be reporting Ecco Dental to my insurance company. Patients deserve honest communication and ethical care--not to be misled or dismissed when they're trying to help their child in pain. Steer clear of Ecco Dental & Claremont Smile Design. You deserve better.

She runs the show sweetly and efficiently and is awesome about working with my schedule and especially my husband who works an hour away. I always get a reminder card and phone call. We have super good dental insurance so our prophylactic visits are paid for. When I had my two crowns done, Diane was super good about letting me know what my portion would be and a bill came in a timely manner. She was also great about scheduling me so that I did not exceed my yearly maximum! When I had my crowns done, I ran the costs past my mom who had several done and she was very impressed and said that Dr. Grillo was lower than dentist in Covina. Hygenists - As of today, I've seen three. Johanna is the one I've seen the most and we LOVE her. She is professional, gentle and thorough. Today I saw a sub named Judy and she was pretty good. I needed extra scraping as we missed our last appointment due to a family emergency but she used an electric tool and it was over way quicker. I liked that. My husband sees the other hygienist and has never had any complaints but I can't remember her name. Also, because Diane books well, there is never a wait to be seen. Dentist - Dr. Grillo is wonderful! How could anyone dread going to the dentist with her? She is professional, cautious and knowledgable. I have had her do two crowns and a couple of aged fillings (the price of getting old). She is quick and painless - seriously - she knows exactly where to give that shot to numb and is excellent with her work once you are numb. She does very good crown work and is very painstaking with ensuring that your mouth is even! They are moving their office in a couple of months but this location is an old school dental office but it is immaculate.

While I was out of town on July 12, 2026, I developed severe pain on the lower right side of my mouth. As soon as I returned, I scheduled an emergency appointment for July 15. I also had a previously scheduled deep cleaning appointment for July 16. During my emergency visit, the female dentist appeared to minimize my concerns. Instead of focusing on the area where I was experiencing pain, she asked whether I had seen an endodontist for a referral from a year earlier and questioned a shadow in my gums that had existed for over 30 years on the opposite side of my mouth. I requested X-rays, and a 360-degree scan was performed. After reviewing the images, she told me everything looked fine, that I had no cavities, gave me Sensodyne toothpaste for tooth sensitivity, and said I was cleared to proceed with my deep cleaning the following day. Later that same day, the office coordinator called and told me they wanted me to see the endodontist before my cleaning. I went to the appointment, and within five minutes the endodontist identified a cavity. My primary dentist confirmed the finding and recommended that my wisdom tooth be extracted. I was extremely upset that my condition had been missed during my emergency visit. I asked to speak with the female dentist who had evaluated me, but she was unavailable. I scheduled the extraction for July 17, 2026. Because I had previously had a successful experience using nitrous oxide during another tooth extraction, I requested it again to help manage my anxiety. I was numbed for the procedure and was told I was receiving nitrous oxide, but I never felt its effects. I noticed the dental assistant was on the phone for much of the procedure, and it appeared that no one ensured the nasal cannula was properly positioned. I informed both the oral surgeon and the assistant that I did not feel like I was receiving the nitrous oxide, but my concerns were dismissed. I remained anxious throughout the procedure, and the extraction was ultimately unsuccessful. I left the office emotional, traumatized, and deeply disappointed. This was the worst dental experience I have ever had. As healthcare providers, listening to patients is essential. I repeatedly expressed my concerns and felt they were ignored every step of the way. I will not be returning to this office. I also plan to verify that my insurance was not billed for procedures that were not completed, including the deep cleaning and the unsuccessful tooth extraction. I hope this review encourages the office to improve communication, patient care, and attention to patient concerns so that others do not have a similar experience.
