I've been bringing my sons here for the past year or two. Everyone in the office is professional. Dr. Chu is the best pediatric dentist I've taken my boys to. He is very patient, and helps them feel at ease. One of my sons is nervous going in, and yet by the end of the appointment, he feels more comfortable. I'm grateful for people in the medical field that is good at working with kids. I also appreciate him referring us to an oral surgeon to get a 2nd opinion on a spot that's on my son's tongue. Dr. Chu is truly a wonderful pediatric doctor! He is very welcoming to all the kids that come in to see him. Dr. Chu does his best to make sure the patient is comfortable and feels safe. His end goal is to make sure the patient had a such a good experience that they want to come back. Dr. Chu does magic tricks for the kids and has even held jam sessions with some of his patients. First of all, I would like to talk about his office. It is very clean and very organized. The waiting room is clean and inviting. Inside the dental room there is plenty of space. There are posters, toys, and video games to put any child at ease. Walking into the office, I was greeted very warmly from the receptionist. His dental hygienist was very friendly also. Dr. Steve is very welcoming, friendly, and professional. He dresses casually with sports jerseys and a baseball cap to put the young patients at ease. Don't let his casual demeanor fool you though. His knowledge, and attention to detail is to second to none. He is extremely easy to speak to, and has a genuine concern for all his patients. The open line of communication is what stands out about him. Most dentists will just tell you what they are going to do. Dr. Steve gives options and asks for your input for your child. I must have interviewed, visited and researched 10 pediatric dentists before finding Dr. Chu. I've taken my boys to Dr. Chu for 6 yrs now. Dr. Chu and his staff are THE BOMB! Dr. Chu can be found in his office any day wearing his football jersey and backward baseball hat, talking to the kids during their appointments. He is so kid-friendly, very laid-back and he puts them at ease. He has tons of kid-friendly books, toys and video game machines in his office that put the children at ease. He has been so entirely....cooperative, is how I describe it. He is open, honest and tells you how it is. Then he tells you what your options are and what his suggestions may be. And he works with parents on treatment plans. So many dentists/doctors I've met are so arrogant and egotistical that they only want to do it THEIR ONE AND ONLY WAY and if you don't succumb, you might as well find another dentist. Dr. Chu is not like this...he is entirely flexible. Shelly, his front receptionist is just awesome and all of his various assistants are very pleasant. First of all, Dr. Chu is a skilled dentist. More importantly, for kids at least, he has a good sense of humor and isn't scary. My daughter went to my dentist, who was not able to help children, so he referred us to Dr. Chu. As soon as we got there for her first appointment, we felt very comfortable. It is decorated like a kids room, chairs facing the street & pics of Disney characters. Kids can also watch a movie while getting extensive work done. We love going there and most importantly, my daughter is not scared of going to the dentist, she thinks its fun! He does great work and she is not in any more pain.
