Then weeks later the crown broke and a portion of my tooth was still in my gums then they tell me oh you need a bridge broken tooth in my They put a bridge on and left.. They put a bridge on and left the broken tooth in and put two little holes so I could stick the string to clean my teeth. I'm a diabetic I shouldn't be going through this. I was experiencing a tooth ache and the online appointment request was super simple. I received a call from Jannett to schedule me in quickly. I was able to see specialist Dr Lin, as I needed a root canal. He was so amazing, very gentle and explained everything that he was doing. I even got to see the X-ray they did in the room with me just sitting there. I then was able to see Dr Morales, which I needed 2 crowns. I was super sore but he was super gentle. I did have a bit of an anxiety cry. Which I felt so bad but Dr Morales, Lucio, Delilah & Angel were so kind. I got to interact with all of them. My crowns look so beautiful!! This place rocked it! The Dr and Staff were phenomenal! My mother needed a full set of upper and lower dentures, which mean that she needed her remaining 23 teeth removed. The staff and Dr made my mother feel comfortable and safe and explained everything thing they were doing. I picked her up, and she was up for running to the pharmacy with me to grab her prescription. She came home and slept a few hours, but, by the evening she was having soup and watching tv and laughing with me in the living. This is one of the best Dental experiences we have ever had! Initially I had an okay experience at my first visit. I liked my hygienist a lot and didn't feel pushed to do things because I actually trusted them. They said I needed to come every 3 months instead of 6, which should have been the red flag. They said I needed a new crown and showed me X-rays that apparently I had an infection under a 5+ year old crown. Of course you hear infection and think wow that's something I need to take care of. Weird that it was never identified with all my other X-rays with dentists, but I trusted them and set up a payment plan since it wasn't completely covered by my insurance. It was after that initial visit that things started getting weird. It was a different dentist who did the cleaning of the tooth before a new crown could be made so apparently that was another charge. They told me it was $500 which I paid that day. I noticed that they would tell me what I was signing but didn't really show me the screen after the first visit. My fault for being trusting! After everything was all done and at the next visit they took X-rays, I noticed the same shadow that was an "infection" was still there but they didn't say anything about it. The payments were coming out automatically each month and then just stopped even though I still saw a balance. I called them and they told me they stopped because I had paid off the balance for the crown but the remainder balance was for something else. I asked what it was and he did not know and the office manager wasn't there that day so i would have to call back. I tried calling another day and told she was only there 2 days a week and she was not there. I got busy and forgot to call for a few weeks. I called again on a day she was there and she informed me that the balance was for the work of the other doctor that I paid the $500 for. I stated that I paid the $500 but she said that wasn't the whole amount so the balance was added to my account. Why in the world would they tell me it was $500 when it was more!? Of course I was told, "well you signed off on it". If it was more and told it was actually $700+, I would have just paid it then but I was told $500. I asked for the invoice for everything which she sent me but it's basically another language. About 2 weeks later, I got a call from a debt collector telling me they sent me to collections. I immediately paid the balance with the dentist directly just to get them off my back but this whole situation was shady. I do also want to note if you do a review for them while in the office, you get free stuff...Makes sense why they initially had great reviews. read more

Very disappointing experience. The front desk staff is unfriendly--you have to go out of your way to ask for help, and even then, they act like you're inconveniencing them. The office manager's communication is extremely poor. I called on 8/26 around 11 AM with an urgent billing question, and the office manager told me she was too busy to help but would call me back that afternoon. I never received a call. I followed up on 8/27 and spoke with a man named Manuel, who said the office manager needed to address my issue and that I would hear back later that day. As of 9/7, I still haven't received any response. This office has practices that feel predatory. It seems like this office prioritizes money over patient care and professionalism. read more

Honestly don't recommend, this place is money hungry. They only have good reviews on google because they ask you to leave a review in order to get a giftcard or a discount on your service. They charged me an insane amount of money for a deep cleaning and they never actually did a deep cleaning, then months later after researching and consulting with my current dentist, I found out all they did was a regular cleaning. I was not numbed, nor did I have multiple quadrant sessions like an actual deep cleaning is supposed to and the cleaning took less than 30 mins and was exactly the same cleaning I get at my current dentist. Charged damm near $1000 for a deep cleaning I never received and was pressured into getting by the front desk lady with lip filler that talked to me about treatment plan prices, not the actual dental hygienist. The actual dental hygienist was nice, her name was Angel I believe but I'm assuming the lady that talked to me about my treatment plan never told her that I paid for a deep cleaning so instead the dental hygienist just did a regular cleaning. It was way too long that passed by once I figured out that I didn't even get what I paid for so I just let it go. My honest opinion is to find a good and reputable dental office because this place will just try to upsell you on anything. read more

I am truly so traumatized by my experience here that it took me 2 months after my visit to come forward with my review. I want to preface that I have NEVER had dentist anxiety - I don't particularly enjoy going, but I have never been AFRAID of going... until now. The first part of my visit was completely fine - the front desk was great and it was a smooth process to check in. The hygienist that cleaned my teeth was great as well. And then there was Dr. Morales..... I originally came in because my onlay on my left molar had come out and I needed it replaced ASAP. After review of my teeth, I needed the onlay replacement on one molar AND a crown on my other molar. Dr. Morales asks me if I want to move forward. Mind you, he had not mentioned the cost at all. I asked for the cost - Dr. Morales had no idea. He sends in this lady to go over the cost - I felt like all of this was smokescreens. I had to ask more than once to get a cost and didn't feel comfortable moving forward until I had a price. That is really just odd to ask to move forward when there's no cost transparency upfront. AFTER Delta HMO insurance? Still $2,000. I sucked it up and ate the cost because I was desperate to get this replacement and really just didn't feel like dentist hopping. They also make the permanents in-house so I didn't have to wait to get them installed and I could be done with the entire process that day. The real problems came when Dr. Morales was working on my teeth. Even after numbing, I was in EXTREME pain, especially when cementing in the onlay and crown. In the middle of the procedure, I expressed how much pain I was in and he completely ignored me. When putting in the pieces in my mouth, I was almost yelling from the pain. I started to panic and CRIED on the chair. I am 29 years old and I have never cried from a dental visit even from when I was a child. Dr. Morales's response? Literally told me to stop crying because it was harder for him to work in my mouth and kept saying in a monotone voice, "You're okay". The dental assistant working alongside him was super kind and empathetic, but unfortunately nothing could save the absolute atrocity of an experience I had here with Dr. Morales. By the time I checked in with the front desk at the end, I was sobbing and couldn't wait to get into my car. Dr. Morales then runs out - I'm thinking maybe he would be comforting and tell me that he was sorry for my experience that he clearly knew was awful for me. No, he just gave me a pack of pain relievers (I don't remember whether they were Tylenol or Advil). Highly, highly do not recommend and I am now terrified of going back to any dental office. read more

This office has NO policy on their website, no rules about what they do or don't allow, their website allows you to book via their website, but then they call to tell me after the fact that they will only see 2 of my 3 kids in one day. There were AMPLE appointments available on the day I booked. When I questioned them on their policy they couldn't tell me who made the policy and wouldn't allow me to talk to anyone besides Janet. This office is discriminatory and I will be filing a compliance and ethics complaint. If you have more than 2 kids, this isn't the office for you. And honestly, I took my 7 yr old to a single appt a few days before this and they referred me to a pediatric dentist. Its been an absolute waste of time dealing with this office and their staff. I don't trust a business that can't provide information about policies and definitely can't trust a front office staff that doesn't know policy history or business ethics. We will be finding another office. Upland Modern Dentistry just lost 8 customers. Note to the office staff: "In CA, if a large family experiences discrimination, they can file a lawsuit with the California Civil Rights Department (DFEH) if they believe their rights have been violated. I had X-rays. And exam and estimate of some dental work. After being examined I was pressure cooked while in Dental chair, my attempts to ask to sit up comfortably while they made an intense high pressure sales presentation were ignored until I protested with enthusiasm. They try try to keep you in a Sublime position to intimidate and over pressure you. Not nice. After going into an actual sales office they continue the high pressure upsell of unrequested and unaffordable extras. I told them I needed to consider other options and was not willing to commit to any contract until I researched. I asked for copies of my digital XRays and was told they would be emailed to me that day. It has been 4 days and they still have NOT sent the X-rays as promised. I am reporting them to Ca Medical Board to my InsuranceCarrier to the Dept of Insurance Consumer Affairs and posting on all media with my followers. I recommend any other patient get second opinion from reliable Dental Facility's. read more

I'm comfortable writing this review now that I know this office tried to scam me out of thousands of dollars. They tried to tell me I needed a ton of work and special cleanings. They were super pushy even trying to get me to come back same day to have work done when I told them I had to leave to pick my daughter up from school. I thought it was really strange considering I had consistently seen a dentist before this and never had any issues like this (my dentist retired and insurance changed hence the change). I luckily followed my gut and decided to change my insurance to a ppo so I could go elsewhere. I went somewhere else today to a dentist with 5 stars and hundreds of reviews. Didn't mention anything about this office visit. Surprise surprise I have no cavities, don't need any work, and a routine cleaning was all that was needed. The dentist actually commented on how great my teeth looked. So avoid at all costs unless you want to be scammed and cheated. So so not right coming from medical providers. Shame! read more

After years of putting off going to the dentist, I could no longer deal with the pain I was experiencing with a tooth I previously had issues with after a failed root canal with a prior dentist. From the second I walked through the door, I was greeted with a warm welcome from the front office staff as well as the office manager Jannett. Dr. Andrew Mikhail introduced himself to me and told me he would be with me shortly. The technician that assisted with my X-rays was very helpful and had patience with me throughout the process. Dr. Mikhail explained why I was experiencing the pain and what steps needed to be taken to address the issues. He was very thorough in his explanation and showed me the images so I could understand what was happening internally. Dr. Mikhail is kind and compassionate, which can be hard to find sometimes. The quote even with my insurance was very high, as expected when dealing with the need for serious dental work and surgery, but Dr. Mikhail and Jannett worked with me on pricing and I was very appreciative of that. I ended up having to have extractions, which were done by Dr. Pedro Morales with the assistance of Delilah. Although it was a very painful process for me, I appreciated him and Delilah keeping me motivated to push through and encouraging me throughout. When I had follow up questions the next day, Ryan was very helpful in addressing my questions and had a very positive upbeat demeanor. All in all, I would highly recommend Upland Modern Dentistry to anyone looking for high quality dental care with a compassionate and informative care team. From the moment I walked in everyone was so friendly and nice. The place was very clean and everything was up to date! Dr. Andrew and his team were so understanding and made me feel so comfortable. I have bad anxiety going to the dentist and when trying someone new it makes it worse. Dr. Andrew text me before my appointment to ask if I have any questions or concerns. I thought that was an amazing touch. Dr. Andrew went over every little detail about my x-rays and anything he saw he pointed out and we would talk about treatment and all my questions were answered. I was given an opportunity to get the work done right then and there. The other amazing thing was, I needed a crown fixed, and they were able to create the crown there and put it in my mouth within hours or less. The new crown looks even better than the previous one. They knew I had such bad anxiety over getting work done and my teeth clean they even put on my favorite type of music so I could relax and would periodically check to make sure I was ok.
