I gave this place a chance at making my hair bayalage. At first, I was worried because as soon as I sat down, they teased my hair and I have gotten highlights done before but I have never had my hair teased. But whatever, I decided to just go with the flow. They applied the color and washed my hair. I noticed my hair was BLONDE. That's when I was even MORE worried. However, after a couple of times of applying color to my hair and washing my hair, the color came out exactly as the picture I showed them. I live 70 mile from houston. I come to houston in hurry and leave in hurry. This Thursday November 30, 2018, my family come to houston to grocery shopping as usual. My wife and two young children went in hongkong market and I went to get a hair cut in angel hair salon. They told me to sitdown on the first station on the right. The man in 30s to 40s come asked how i want my hair to be cut. I told him I want it spikey as usual, i kept this style for the past 10 year. As he cut my hair i look on his station try to see his license and his name, but saw only realtors business cards. To the right off the station, behind some off his equipment, i saw only half off his license, "instructor". After he finished, i didn't check to see how he cut my hair because i want to get back with my wife who is taking care of one toddler and an infant and do shopping. I put on my cab, paid and tips the barber who i thought doing his job properly. When we got home, took off my cab, my wife surprised ask what style of my hair. I went the bathrooom, comb my hair and see on my right side is short all the way up to top of head, but on the left side is long almost touch my ear. Also on the back some long and some short. If i live in Houston, i will come back to the salon and ask the barber what style is it. I know it is not spikey for sure. read more

I have never been so pissed off by a hair salon that I feel the need to write a review. This place was the absolute worst! Originally I had walked in to get a trim and then they asked me if I wanted to retouch my roots. My hair is bleached blonde and I explained to them that I was waiting to get my hair ombred and the lady insisted that they're able to ombre my hair. I was suspicious and showed them many pictures of what ombre style looks like on my iphone and the lady continue to insist that she had experience in ombre. I asked her how long it would take and she said 1 hour. IT TURNED INTO AN 4 HOUR PROCESS. She start off by bleaching my ends which were already blonde before she darken rest of my head. She basically over processed my ends because she left the bleach on for 30 MINUTES on my already bleached blonde hair! She managed to cut another customers hair while my hair was processing and then frantically washes all the bleach out of my hair after she was done. She immediately applied treatment to my hair cause my ends were breaking left and right and had me lay there for another 15 minutes while she cuts ANOTHER customers hair. She told me she applied treatment like she's doing something generous when I know she's just covering her ass cause she over-processed and damaged my hair beyond repair. Then when she was drying my hair, she kept on talking to her friend and burned my scalp with the blow dryer. I told her it hurts twice and she just says "Oh sorry!" like it's no big deal. I knew she fucked up cause she wouldn't let me look at the mirror until she was done cutting and styling my hair. In fact, she didn't let me look at the back of my hair until I asked her. MY HAIR LOOKS LIKE A SPOTTED LEOPARD! I was so pissed. I told her that it is uneven and my hair looks like a leopard. Her English was great until I started telling her what she did wrong. All the sudden, she could not understand what I was telling her. Then I showed her the pictures again and she insisted that she did it just like the picture and it's because my hair is straight that it doesn't look right. THEN SHE TOLD ME IT WAS MY FAULT NOT HERS. Instead of fixing the color, she wanted to cut 4 inches off my top layers and I was like fuck no! I paid my $100 for the service without tip and left. I had never been so angry in my life. I can't even fix my hair because it is so damaged that I won't be able to dye it again for at least couple of months. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. THE CHEAP PRICE IS NOT WORTH THE TIME AND DAMAGE TO YOUR HAIR THAT YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO REPAIR. read more

This place is a hit or miss. They have messed up a lot of people's hair. They bleached my head THREE times in one sitting so my hair fell off and broke off. They ended up putting extensions in my hair making it seem as though they were doing me a favor. She also left me in the dryer for too long which broke off and FRIED my hair even more. This was such a bad job that I had to wait months before I could even fix my hair because my hair was so chemical damaged. I cannot believe i paid $300 plus tip for this service. read more

Cheap and good haircut. Good customer service and polite staff. Men's haircuts are only $12 and it includes shampoo and gel styling. Staff was professional and took her time cutting my hair. The shampooing and head massaging after the haircut were excellent. The service and quality of the haircut is much better than the chain haircut places like supercut and great clip. I highly recommend this salon to those who enjoy great results with reasonable prices. If you can, ask or set up an appointment with a gentlemen named Andre. I met him through the Miss Chinatown Scholarship Pageant and his work is very, very good! He takes his time and puts a lot of effort in making you look exceptional! I have gone back to him several times to get my hair styled, cut, and trimmed. He also does a great job when it comes to coloring. He'll ask you what you want and if you don't know, he'll try his best to suggest what would look best on you. He is also caring and understanding; the other staff members are also quite nice and helpful as well. i made a yelp account just so i can write a review for this place. i give this place 0 stars. actually i give it -5 stars. i came for a light body wave perm and a TRIM. i left with SHITTY perm. no waves at all. instead my hair was extremely poofy and it looked absolutely horrible. i showed the lady multiple pictures and i told her exactly how i wanted it. she did not even come near the picture. i cannot even give her an A for effort. i couldve done a better job. my little 9 year old BROTHER could have done a better job. i am absolutely furious at how my hair came out. she obviously doesnt understand the meaning of a trim because she CHOPPED off all of my hair. i am not happy with the result the lady gave me. i had a perm before and my friend in HIGH SCHOOL did it for me and the result was 20X better. how did a grown lady with a cosmetology license do a shittier job? i dont know either. but what i do know is that i will NEVER return to this place again. and if i do this review will come to life and the lady will hear it straight from my mouth. Ok so I came back today (two days later) so the lady can fix my hair. First off, she refused to even believe my hair looked incredibly horrific. After I went off on her about the horrible job she did, she still did not even try to redeem herself. She did just as bad the second time as the first. The benefit of the doubt that I gave her, I shouldn't have. I will NEVER return here again and I will never recommend this place to anyone. She did a horrible job. Quan has done good jobs on other people before, but lately he is not listening to what his client's ask for. My friend warned me recently to be careful because he sometimes does stuff to her hair that she didn't ask for, but I thought I would make it CLEAR WHAT I WANTED! I showed him MANY pictures, including the picture of the actually girl's hair that he cut (my friend's hair, and her hair is almost exactly in texture, etc, like mine). He cut my bangs SO SHORT, despite me telling me OVER AND OVER NOT TO CUT THEM SHORT!!! next time, I'm not going to pay more for someone I know will listen , and not just say, "Yeah, yeah, ok." I came here originally to get my hair dyed, just to kind of get rid of my previous blonde bayalage. Bi did my hair and he did a good job, nothing to really complain about for the price. Though I had this very strong smell of some kind of cleanser or something on my face for several days after. I think he had gotten some dye on my skin and he used some strong alcohol or something to remove it, thus leaving behind a strong smell. I came back a few months later because I wanted to get a trim and get some layers to thin out my thick hair. I got a different guy that time, and it was hard to communicate with him because of his broken English. I was very unhappy with the haircut. The shorter layers were so choppy, not blended at all, and too short compared to the longer layers he left. It looked like a mix of a bob and a mullet. But my friend has been here before and she's never complained, so I guess it really must depend on who you get to do your hair. I for one will definitely not be back, at least for a haircut, anytime soon. read more

This is one of the hairsalons in the Hong Kong Market. I was motivated to go there because a) they probably cut East Asian hair well, and b) their haircuts go for about 20 bucks! So I walked in on 6/29/09 to get a haircut. There were 3 ladies and 1 male hairstylist there. One of the ladies appeared to speak decent English and appeared to be the one in charge. The others spoke ok English. Since I don't speak Vietnamese, communication was a bit difficult. When I was getting my hair wet, my lady (I think her name was Yan?) said "you need root touch up. Need color." So, I asked how much that would be, and she said "60." I sat there for a second debating, and the lady yelled, "ok, for you, 55!" So I went ahead and asked her to do color and haircut. Here's where the problem began. As soon as the lady started applying the dye mixture to my hair, my scalp started stinging. I thought it might go away, so I sat there for a little while longer, but the pain increased. Soon, my entire head felt like it was burning, and I even started sweating with pain. I asked if this was normal (knowing that it wasn't) and the lady replied, 'oh, you just sensitive." So I thought, ok, I will sit here for as long as possible and then ask her to wash it out if it gets any worse. In about 10 minutes, it either became less painful, or I got used to the pain, and I was able to sit there for the entire 30 minutes. During this time, my lady kept pointing out things that I needed to get done - my nails, eye brows, oily skin, baby hair on cheeks, etc, etc, including a mole removal! She kept saying "you need it" and claimed that she can provide all of the listed services for me. Finally, when she was rinsing out the hair dye (and I was praying that my hair wasn't falling out) she kept applying some kind of solution to my hair, muttering something about "hot oil, hot oil, you need it." When that was over, she told me to sit under one of those perm-heat-thingies to let the oil sink in. At which point I asked, "Did you apply the oil on my hair? I didn't ask for it. How much is that?" The lady replied "I give you for 15 dollars!" I gently asked her to rinse it out - and told her that I don't want any services except hair color and haircut. The manager looking lady (that speaks good English) came out and tried to smooth things over. I repeatedly said that I just want my haircut done. So my lady did give me a haircut, and she did seem to know what she was doing. In the end, walked out with a pretty decent haircut and scalp that was still stinging a bit. If you want a quick and decent haircut for a cheap price, I recommend this place. But stay away from haircoloring, and be prepared to say NO to all other service that will be offered. Don't expect to come out of there feeling refreshed and pretty - the ladies will make you feel like you NEED to come back for a bunch of other services to make you look normal. :) It will be helpful if you speak Vietnamese or if you can bring someone who does. read more

I made an account to leave a review for this place because I didn't want it on my main one. Anyways, I came here wanting to get a balayage or ombre and it was my first time ever. I regret being so hasty because the other places I went to couldn't take me, so I thought "hey lets try this place". This one girl I saw gets her hair done nicely here so I thought it was okay. I came from dark brown hair that has previously been colored. The lady who did my hair first slapped on some bleach. She then has me sit under heat for some time to let it process. The terrifying part was when she opened the foil to look at the hair and guess what... she starts to RUB my damn hair with bleach in it. Once she washed out the bleach, I nearly sat there and cried because my hair was so mushy from being over processed... It was really light and breaking off. I ask her why its doing that and she says she doesn't see anything and that its fine. So for the next step, she applies a hair dye over my hair.. I have no clue on what parts or what color but it made it look a tad better than the hot mess it was. When she washed out my hair, she put something in it and apparently it was olaplaex. I still came home with damaged hair and it took some nursing to do until it was decent again. I was so afraid to touch my hair or wash it because it had been so damaged. So please don't do your coloring here.. I would say its a place to go to for old people.. not when you want hip and trendy hair. read more
