While I am very happy with the way my brows and upper lip turned out, the process was more painful than normal. Lynn was very slow, almost timid during the process. It took me 15 minutes to find parking and walked through that rain and wind to get to the nail salon.. walked in exactly at 1.50pm and everyone seemed busy. One of the lady came out and told me, they are busy for the day and won't take anymore customers! It came out as a big surprise for me, but I was calm. I told her I called in and I have an appointment at 2.. that lady was so unprofessional and rude, said she cannot take anymore customers. If they cannot take anymore customers for the day, why did they give me an appointment?, or why do they still have open sign on their door???? I don't know about their service. A few days ago, I visited this nail salon. I was treated very differently to the other customers there. Before I got my nails done, the nail artist rudely commanded me to give her my payment straight away. On observation, no one else in the nail salon had to pre pay. It was just me. The fact that I was singled out and made pre pay when everyone else paid after their nails were done, made me feel judged and segregated. It made no sense whatsoever. I felt awful. read more

(Although I do not practice anymore I have owned my own salons) My family and I are visiting Newport for the summer and I desperately needed a fill for my nails as they grew out super long. I searched high and low on yelp for a good salon and this place was only 3 1/2 stars but was one out of the very few places that actually did a Acrylic fills. It is small but clean, I was greeted and had a nice friendly tech named Nu. She was quick, efficient and my nails turned out great! I would come here again. Just got them done so I'll update once I know if the fill lasted or not. But so far, I left a happy customer. Regular pink fill cost me $35 + tipped her $15 so I spent $50 there. read more

This is the only place in Newport to get your nails done. I usually get a pedicure with a design on them. Always great service at a great price. I do not spring for deluxe service; I do not think it is worth it. I have been to other nail salon's in Newport and this is by far the best service for the best price! I've had better. If you want a real pedicure, you must need to opt for their $40 service because the basic $25 one I got was nothing more than a clip and a polish and a minute of massage. And since we all know that the massage is the best part of a pedicure, well, this place fell very flat for me. For $60 I can get a rockin' pedi at Alayne White so there's no way I'd drop $40 here from what I experienced in this visit. Two stars because everyone was very nice, regardless. read more

Is this the part where I ask for another time ....or should she say, "would ______ time work for you instead?" Or "can I make an appt for you a different day?" I went here a few times to get manicures and pedicures. Overall it was ok. After my last visit I will not be returning. The nail tech did a great job but after I paid and I was leaving the owner verified with the tech how much I was charged. Apparently she forgot to charge to remove the gel on my hands. She was going to take it out of the tip I have the nail tech. Totally unacceptable. Luckily I was able to pay the nail tech the extra $5. Was that $5 really worth it to the owner to lose a customer? I had a great experience here tonight, and I do mean GREAT- absolutely 5 stars! A friend and I had really wanted to get our nails done, but had late class and then dinner. So we called up Angel around 7pm and asked what time they closed-- 7, apparently. The woman on the phone then really nicely informed me that they would stay open and wait for us to get there, even though we were about 10-15 mins away at that point. Awesome, we'll be right there. We arrived, and everyone there was so incredibly gracious and nice. We picked out polish and they got right down to our nails, which were not in any kind of condition that could be labelled as good. Lynne was my technician, and she was friendly and chatty, speedy but not at all careless, and absolutely meticulous. My nails are a very dark bronze-y shade, and the polish was applied flawlessly. My nails are beautifully shaped, and Lynne gives a mean hand/forearm rub. We never felt even a little bit rushed, even though we arrived after closing. Things got even better with the price: only $15. YES. This means that I can come back pretty frequently, and not be totally broke. And I will be back frequently! An awesome experience, and one that I am completely eager to repeat. read more

My gel manicure lastedwell over two weeks (which never happens with me btw) and it stayed shiny!!! Very clean and friendly environment. By far the worst experience I have ever had with acrylic nails. My nails look awful. I needed a backfill and just moved to the area. This salon had the best reviews. However my nails are lumpy, the shape of the white tip is completely rectangular, no curve at all. The salon was dirty and the customer service wasn't that great. I felt so rushed but it was the longest appointment I have ever had, especially for a backfill. Based in part on reading good reviews of Angel Nails, I went there today in hopes of scoring a last minute manicure and pedicure (before my niece's wedding tomorrow) Despite the crowds elsewhere in town, they greeted me warmly, seated me in a pedicure chair immediately, and set to work. Though certain pieces of the process took longer than I'd have liked, the seriously wonderful treatment at the hands of the expert staff more than made up for any delay. The gals did a bang up job on both hands and feet, plus massaged knots out of my tired shoulders and arms (thanks to the long drive up here through miserable traffic.) I was hoping to get any adequate pedicure and manicure, as it was, I got superb jobs on both plus loving care that restored me. I went to this salon twice for SNS. The first time I went to a lady named Tanya and she did okay so that is why I returned for a second visit. On the second visit Tanya was unavailable so I got a different lady who didn't seem to speak English because when I had concerns about the way she is doing my nails she called a different lady over. SNS is a hard and long process and not everyone can do it. This lady had no idea what she was doing. The dip was completely uneven and there was missing gaps between my fingers already. Since I had already sat there for almost two hours I decided to let it go. Big mistake!! Not even a week later my nails start peeling????? Never in my life of getting SNS have I had my nails peel and worst of all I get SNS to grow my nails and after 10 days of the worlds crappiest manicure a chunk of my nail broke off. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. Prices are mediocre and service sucks. read more

Very friendly staff! My first visit was for a quick eyebrow wax; I was taking a walk with my 3 month old, and since he was snoozing, I popped in. They did a good job on my eyebrows, but what impressed me was that when my son woke and started fussing, the ladies entertained him while the wax was finished. I returned later for a mani/pedi, and was greeted like a friend. It was a relaxing experience, and when it was done the ladies were very helpful and concerned that I not inadvertently mess my nails. This place came highly recommended, so I made an appointment for the end of the day, 1.5 hours before closing for a gel mani and pedicure. I was so disappointed because they did my manicure and pedicure at the same time and they were rushing through it. My manicure was great, it has lasted over two weeks. However, it was the WORST pedicure I have ever had. They didn't shape my nails or shave my calluses, and it was the sloppiest polish job I've ever gotten. I would give this place 6 stars if it were possible. My wife and I went in during vacation and had a great experience. Both of the people working with us were extremely professional and did a great work. We also left a shopping bag in the shop by accident. We were unable to retrieve the bag the next day because our flight left before the store opened the next day. I went for my first time last week and got a full set by Tanya. The set came out so unacceptable. I've had two nails pop off already just by adjusting the lever on my chair in class (how embarrassing). They were soooo thick, uneven and I just was not pleased with the overall experience. She asked if I would like my cuticles done and I said yes. What a waste of words... they looked the exact same after she "trimmed" them. Folks, this is an update FIVE YEARS LATER. This salon has truly taken off since I last wrote for them. I am thrilled by the changes, I am thrilled for the owner's success, and when I am in the salon I look around and see genuinely happy clients and manicurists. Julian is wonderful, wonderful. A thoughtful, kind, talented young man who truly wants to please. Any request is met with a polite nod of agreement. While this is not a spa, it is also not the typical nail salon where " wham, bam, get them in and out, onto the next client" type establishment that is so prevalent now, everywhere you turn. One of the best mani/pedi experiences I've ever had. When I walked in I was warmly greeted and I had several people helping pick my gel polish (I'm very picky and they knew exactly what I was wanting so we selected the 2 colors quickly) and then they offered to do my manicure at the same time as my pedicure because I was in a time crunch. They were so thorough my nails look immaculate (and they started out looking really rough)! They were so see and friendly and I wish I lived closer so I could go more often. read more
