I got three estimates and found Angel Floors to be a reasonable price and the most knowledgeable. They did a great job on sanding and refinishing our floors and stairs, including our floating stairs. They had to replace many boards, and you cannot tell that they were ever different from the originals. read more

From first to last the experience was very positive: From initial contact to scheduling the estimate, to estimating the work, to answering questions along the way, to performing the work, to a very high standard. We hired Angel to refinish a kitchen/family room floor based on prior review on the Chevy Chase list serve. They were amazing from start to finish! Roxanne handled all the arrangements in a friendly , professional and informative manner. Her husband and co-owner Mauricio/Tony led the two person crew. The service was beyond first class - on time performance, plastic protecting the walls, bookshelves and the rest of the house, clean up every day. Outstanding communication on what he would do and had done. He took care to show us what he had done each day. They took special care to make sure the finish matched the original and other flooring as well as possible. The result is beautiful. Angel Floors did a great job refinishing some severely water-damaged flooring. They were very honest about what they thought they could and could not do. They showed up on time and finished when they said they'd finish. The room looks very good and the hallway and stairs look great. The price was reasonable for the work done. read more

Fantastic quality floors. These people are real professionals who know their craft. Punctual, quick, detail oriented, and they were flexible with us when we needed to adapt when another part of our construction project ran behind. Great value as well. Highest possible recommendation. read more

After over 30 years, the hardwood in our 1948 house desperately needed refinishing on two floors; dirt was ground into high traffic areas. Everything Angel Floors did was professional with high quality results, from the initial consultation to communications--including detailed written instructions--to the actual work. On top of that, I was coordinating Angel Floors' work with painters, and Angel Floors was *extremely* patient about accommodating our (reasonable) requests. We worked out a way for the painters to come in, remove bullnose and paint the baseboards ahead of time--for a much cleaner look. Then Angel Floors come in to move the large furniture (extremely carefully), and got refinishing done. They agreed to wait until the painting was complete before the last step of moving the furniture done. They did not have to do this, as it complicated their scheduling, but they helped us out. The floors look absolutely amazing. Angel Floors replaced boards that were burned in front of the fireplace, covered up an old ductwork hole, put all the bullnose in place crisply and securely, with the natural polyurethane coating after sanding giving us floors that had darkened to nearly a walnut color with wear and tear transformed to a honey color that is absolutely lovely. I noticed even our stairs no longer creak, they even fixed that. They did such an incredibly thorough job. Highly recommended. read more

I have used Angel Floors three times, and I think they are the best to work with. They are professional and get the job done without delay. Scheduling an appointment with Angel Floors is easy and they are very accommodating to your schedule. I first saw their truck in my community and thought "how could I go wrong with a company named Angel Floors??!" Needless to say, I wasn't wrong!! If you're thinking of having your floors done, I highly recommend Angel Floors. read more

Angel Floors went above and beyond our expectations. They removed 30 year old carpet from our entire second floor, cleaned and repaired our plywood subfloor, and installed new Somerset hardwood flooring. While a quiet floor was not guaranteed (the existing flooring was incredibly squeaky throughout the second floor), Angel Floors pulled it off! Our new hardwood floors are not only beautiful and expertly installed, but the entire second floor is now silent. No more creaks! We genuinely appreciated their thorough explanations, careful craftsmanship and clean, yet efficient installation. Thank you!!! read more

We used Angel Floors several years ago when we were still in our home. They refinished our floors that were installed in 1970 and did an amazing job. They even noticed a slight little problem and immediately fixed and changed it. I have never used a company as good as this company. read more

I cannot say enough good about Angel Floors. Roxana and Tony are wonderful people and the quality of their work is impeccable. We first hired them in 2012 to do the upstairs floors and the stairs of our DC row home. The quality is amazing, and the floors have held up amazingly well in spite of us having two dogs. When we finally had a chance to tackle the downstairs floors in Feb 2020, we didn't even bother asking for other quotes knowing they'd do right by us. Not only that, but we trusted them to do the job while my wife and I were a couple of thousand miles away. They did not let us down. They even moved the big furniture away and back as a part of the project. In late March, we hired them to do the floors at a rental property. Again, they came through big time and worked us into the schedule. The communication and transparency along with their honesty are second to none. Based on my three experiences, I can say Angel Floors will do a fantastic job for you at a reasonable cost. read more

Hire Angel Floors. I've had four different flooring contractors in my home over the years and Angel Floors is the only one that I would ever recommend. They are fairly priced, on-time, diligent, professional, and detail oriented. If anything is wrong, they make it right immediately without hesitation. They genuinely care about the finished product which is sadly rare these days. Roxana is on point with all requests and Tony is a pro's pro. Cheers! read more

Just a note about Roxana's professionalism.  We've dealt with a few contractors during our kitchen renovation and she was the ONLY one who not only came on time but early!  She was extremely efficient and knowledgeable and I understand why Angel Floors is so highly rated.  I wanted to leave a positive review even if we don't go w/ them for our floors. They're very busy and I can totally understand why. Good luck! read more

We had a fantastic experience with Angel Floors. We hired the company to remove some ancient carpet in our home and replace with hardwood. The results are beautiful! Roxana is highly communicative and knowledgeable, and we appreciated her sound advice and transparency. The work was completed ahead of schedule, and our home is transformed. We were happy to support a small local employer, and we highly recommend them. read more

My house is just over 100 years old and had carpeting on every floor for at least half of the time it's been standing. I decided to remove all of the carpet to see if the wood floors could be salvaged. In my mind, the second floor of my home would probably need the floors replaced they looked so bad. I went about the confusing process of getting quotes from a few contractors. One contractor said I needed to replace all the floors upstairs. Another said that they could "fill in gaps" with wood putty and refinish the floors for a price that was out of this world, not even including replacing shoe molding around the floor. I didn't like those options and held out for a quote from Angel Floors because of the 100% Consumer Checkbook rating AND the rave reviews on Yelp. I had to wait a couple of weeks for an opening on their schedule for the quote, but I was fortunate to not be in a rush. When Roxana came to give a quote, I knew that I had found a winner. As soon as she stepped into the house she identified which flooring was original to the house and what was added later. She told me that I had antique pine that could be saved. She explained why I should never go with a contractor that would fill in gaps with putty. She even was knowledgeable about the woodwork of the period my house was built and what the likely species of the wood around the house was. Her knowledge let me know I could trust her with the job. I knew that I may have an extended business trip at the same time as the job, so trust was essential. The job had to happen a few weeks later as the Angel Floors team is small and in demand, but it was worth the wait. Antique pine floors that have not had any maintenance can splinter badly if not handled properly. I was out of the country while the work happened, but in constant communication with the team. My floors were very neglected and dry, but somehow Angel Floors made it work. My only regret is that I didn't take enough before pictures. Everyone who has seen my living room and dining room floors thinks I had new ones installed. If you have to wait to get Angel Floors, I say wait. You only get wood flooring done every once in a while so you have to live with the results for a long time. You can trust that you'll like the service and results that Angel Floors provides. EDITED TO ADD: I had been warned by friends about the dust from floor refinishing. Especially the fact that I was doing the whole house. All I have to say is "What dust?". I went through the trouble of wrapping up my new fridge before they came to work on the floors, but it was unnecessary. I could not tell that someone had been in the house sanding, they were incredibly neat. read more

A cautious homeowner tackles a huge project of converting his entire 1st floor living area and staircase to hardwood floors. I interviewed 3 flooring contractors and decided that Angel Floors provided the best price along with all the details needed to make a hiring decision. Angel Floors was exceptional in working with me on what I wanted, scheduling and the installation itself. A family owned business, Roxana and her husband Tony were great in keeping me informed on all items regarding the project. Tony and his crew were very careful in moving the furniture, prepping the work area and cleanup after each day of work. I couldn't be more pleased with the results of the work and highly recommend this company as the "Go To" flooring contractor when looking for a company that is honest, reliable and does quality workmanship. Hiring Angel Floors is a smart decision. An extremely satisfied customer! read more

Wonderful work and quality. My landlord paid for the floor replacement so I can't comment on price. I can, however, highly recommend Angel Floors to anyone. They came to fix our old floor after a small flood (in a small apartment) but knew it was so badly ruined it needed to be totally replaced. I appreciated their willingness to do the job right, not jut quickly. They were professional and prompt with their scheduling. The floor was replaced over a 3 day period. All furniture that Angel Floors moved was replaced almost exactly where we left it and very little work was required to get the apartment back in shape (mostly just unpacking our books and wires and putting them back where they needed to be. They cleaned up perfectly and did an amazing job. To boot, floor is of great quality. read more

I can't say enough good things about this company. They are truly first rate. I hired them to install a new floor in my office and repair and refinish a floor partially ruined by water. The business is owned and run by a young couple. Roxana came to my house, showed me samples, explained options and made recommendations. She was honest and didn't oversell any aspect. Her price estimate was competitive with others. Her husband Tony oversees the work. They schedule a specific day, call you in advance to give you a time and then actually appear for work at that time. The work was done beautifully. read more

We recently bought a house that was built in 1942 and has hardwood floors throughout the house, including the kitchen and stairs. The floors were in such bad shape it seemed as if they'd never been refinished and we couldn't imagine them coming out clean but Tony did exceptional work and we couldn't believe the results, stunning! The job took 3 1/2 days to complete. The smell of the oil-based finish was not too bad and it was gone in a matter of few days. The dust created from sanding/stripping was barely noticeable and the crew cleaned up each day. We also needed repair work in sections and they did a great job. Roxana and Tony - the owners of the company - are professional, prompt and generally nice people. We highly recommend Angel Floors. read more

I'd like to preface this review with these folks did not actually do our floors but we had them do quotes twice and I LOVE THEIR HONESTY! Fall 2014: Gave us a quote for hardwood refinishing when we first moved into our house in Takoma Park, but explained how we probably didn't need to redo them and how they were in good shape, etc. They were super honest and this was greatly appreciated! Fall 2020: Asked for a quote again because of the 2014 interaction. We did not use this time only because they did not have availability within the short timeframe we needed (and I see why not!). These folks were extremely responsive in getting back to us on a date/time to come out for a quote. When the person came and heard the timeframe, they were very upfront on how they couldn't fit us in. Even knowing we might not go with them, they still spent 30 minutes providing extremely useful refinishing advice to use when speaking with other companies! They sent a general estimate along and it was either lower or comparable to the other companies we received quotes from. If the time frame worked out, then hands down we would have gone with this company. Pro tip: these guys are great and booking about a month out so call them early in the hardwood floor refinishing process to get on their calendar! read more

We love our new wood floors! Roxana came to our house with samples and helped with some complicated decisions (what to do about our built-in cabinets, tile hearth, and creaky floors). Everything turned out great. We ran into a snag when the packaging for the wood was opened and Roxana deemed the product unacceptable. She quickly found a replacement and after a proper acclimation time (of course!) we were back on track. The whole team was professional and easy to work with. read more

I had the pleasure today of meeting Roxanna of Angel Floors. Roxanna came out to give me an estimate for the replacement of some floorboards in my 108-year-old row house. She was clearly knowledgeable about wood, and was happy to share that knowledge with me. What impressed me the most about Roxanna was her honest assessment of what I needed -- 1912 floorboards that now can only be found if salvaged from homes of that era, and to which she had no access. She referred me to another company that does. I am disappointed that I will not be able to work with Roxanna and Angel Floors on this project, but will definitely call them for future projects. read more
