The big chessboard required metal brackets. Philip ensured that the piece was attached to the wall securely. Overall, very professional. I will definitely hire him in the future. He is also very friendly.

I had started the job myself but got an anchor screw stuck and figured I should have a pro step in so I didn't wreck my new walls. All the supplies were here, placed where they needed to be, holes were measured and marked for custom made rods and drapes. He charges by the hour and moves very, very slow. He didn't have his own step ladder or anchor screws. In the first hour, he managed to put in 3 screws in holes that had already been marked. He claimed he "needed to remeasure" and that's why it took so long, but he used the holes that I had already marked. He also said it was too hard to do with custom cut rods. He also said it wasn't his fault because I had an anchor screw stuck in the wall already, which was the whole reason I hired him. This is what pros do: they come prepared, know the required materials and techniques, and advise the customer on the best way to proceed. I knew we needed to cut it off when he asked me how to use an anchor screw. He didn't know if you needed to pre-drill or not for a very basic and common anchor. I cannot imagine a professional handyman not knowing that. He used a level to stare at the pre-marked holes for what seemed like an eternity, just eating up time. 3 screws = $200. Seems like a nice enough man, but handyman may not be the profession for him, and that's giving him the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't just trying to take advantage of someone he assumed was too naive too know how long the job should take. He became very defensive, making excuses when I said we'd need to end the job at one hour. Im sure judging by other less than 5 star reviews here (that I really wish I'd have taken the time to read) he will post a very defensive response here as well. Please just don't take a job you don't have the required expertise to complete, and I don't want to hear defensive excuses when I'm still out $200 for almost no work completed.

I met Joe with A Quality Finish a little while back and new fairly quickly he was a guy I could do…read morebusiness with. Being a manager of a kitchen and bath showroom, you need to always keep a look out for people that may be able to help you. Even if not immediately. That is the situation I found myself in with AQF. I had a job in which a cabinet manufacturer botched a paint job and wasn't being very responsive to correcting it. That's when I called Joe. I delivered the cabinets and a reference sample to Joe and he took it from there. Less than a week later, the cabinets were good as gold! Probably better then the cabinet manufacturer could have done themselves! On another project, the customer didn't like any of the hood options offered by the cabinet manufacturer they chose. I was able to find a company that had hoods they liked, but they could not finish them to match the cabinets. I ordered the hood, had it shipped directly to A Quality Finish and again supplied them with a color reference. Again, less than a week later, perfection! I highly recommend A Quality Finish. Joe and Joel can handle whatever you need from a finishing standpoint. Quality work by Quality people and a better than fair price! The way it supposed to be. Thanks, Joe!
