Also, many other places don't properly service their machines, so the laser name alone doesn't mean much. You can ask Sue about all the service she gets routinely done on all her lasers. The all are totally your girlfriends and don't have to worry if you go in there with hairy armpits like I did. They didn't judge at all. Cayla, the patient coordinator at the check-in desk was bubbly and genuine - as a first time visitor, that initial impression means a lot. No pretense, no standoffishness - just a desire to help you to get settled in. I was then taken to the waiting area which was also clean and comfortable, with a few refreshments that are available for guests. Luckily for me, I was only in there for a few minutes before Victoria came to get me. We took a few pics and then headed into the room for my appointment. The room felt very much like a room you may be in for a doctor's appointment - very sterile, bright lights - which of course is a good sign. I then chatted with Victoria about my concerns and needs. She was a great listener as well as a proactive communicator, always educating me as she made suggestions or talked with me about options. It's evident that her top concern is the patient's health and well-being first and foremost, which then guides her recommendations. With the additional knowledge and context she provides, it's impossible not to feel well taken care of, in the hands of a responsible and professional provider. I was also very appreciative of her care and awareness of what treatments would be best for my type of skin, educating me about the Fitzpatrick scale (which I had taken time to educate myself briefly about on my own, but had never had a provider articulate with such mindfulness.) She also was able to balance that professionalism with warmth - which is a rare combination to find. Her ability to make you feel comfortable seems to come naturally and really makes the whole experience not only impactful but enjoyable. He's not what I would expect from a doc at a Med spa; I expected someone who was going to tell me about everything that was wrong with me and try to sell me every treatment under the sun. He did the opposite. He said, "a lot of people come in here and don't like anything about themselves, but everyone has something nice about their face. I don't care if it's only one little tooth, there's still something beautiful in everyone." Swear I'm not bullshitting. Totally unexpected and definitely got my attention. He gave really thorough explanations about why he recommended the the things he did, and all of them made sense. He also explained why I didn't need to do some of the things I wanted to, and actually made me feel better about myself before I even agreed to do anything. It might be part of a sales technique, but if it makes me feel better about what I naturally have, then I'm definitely buying in. My experience with Dr Drysdale is he wants to help me feel my best. I will definitely say he's a little random sometimes, but I don't mind at all. He asks me what I'm trying to do and helps me get there instead of pushing me to do something I'm not interested in.
