As for laser, this is my two cents and my experience. I've researched a lot of places and a lot about laser hair removal - having someone recognize and understand how to treat people of color is vastly important to the laser hair removal experience. I first started with my underarms and after my first session i saw great results. And so I decided to do the full body hair removal. Interesting fact, different parts of your body are of different tones so it requires a different intensity of laser. She will test the skin type & color w a small device and adjust the laser accordingly. Pain wise if you're wondering - I have a relatively high pain tolerance and waxing doesn't really hurt for me - laser felt like a dull needle poking at my skin for like 5 seconds. The process is very fast if you've prepped well. Prep includes shaving against the grain before your visit & being clean! She's really kind, patient, and quite thorough. I very much recommend getting laser if you're tired of waxing / shaving and I recommend it with her. She's very knowledgeable and very good at her art. I was VERY skeptical about the process but I see short term results and am being patient for the long term results! I have about 4 more sessions - will update then! :) Can't tell you enough about how great the experience is end to end. 20/10 recommend.

Dr. Dana was at the front when I entered and I asked her if there were any treatment options for the dark circles under my eyes, which several dermatologists have told me was hereditary and "just a part of getting older". I had no appointment, but Dr. Dana immediately took me to the back to discuss my options. It was like my entire world opened up. There were so many treatment options available, including many that were topical and non-invasive. I was absolutely blown away. What I really appreciated is that she wasn't trying to sell me anything, but really just educate me and inform me so that I could decide what was best for me. She sat with me for about an hour (again, with no appointment) to put together a treatment plan and discuss next steps. Now when I say she's a wealth of knowledge, I can't overstate that. She has been incredibly proactive in recommending things that I didn't even know were available to me. Things that I didn't even ask her about. For example, we were casually talking about the weather and I was telling her how dry it was making my scalp. She was able to recommend a product to help me manage the dryness (something that my dermatologist never thought to do) and it has been an absolute game changer. During one of my treatments, I casually mentioned how tired I have been feeling after work and how I didn't have much energy at the end of the day. She could have just smiled and nodded, treating it like casual conversation, but instead she pulled that conversational thread to try to get to the root cause. She then offered some recommendations to try to help me get my energy back. What started as casual conversation ended with me feeling like a brand new person by the time I left the MedSpa. Living with obesity, high cholesterol and pre diabetes was hard. I tried my best exercising (a lot!) and eating a healthy diet but I was not seeing results.
